Tang Xiaohua returned to the President Mansion before six o’clock.

Tang Xiaocao had just sent her tutor ho.

"Why so late today?"

As she returned, she ran into the departing tutor and asked Tang Xiaocao when she saw her in the room.

"I got stuck on a few difficult questions,"

Tang Xiaocao explained.

"Is the material you’re learning very hard?"

"It’s okay."

"If you can’t keep up with sothing, make sure you communicate with your tutor in ti, understand?"

"Umm, sister, what are you carrying there?"

Tang Xiaocao asked curiously, noticing Tang Xiaohua was holding a bag.

Tang Xiaohua patted Tang Xiaocao’s head and smiled, "Following your advice, I went to see the doctor. It’s gastritis, so I got so dicine."

"Gastritis? Is it serious?"

"It’s mild, it will get better with proper care."

Tang Xiaocao then breathed a sigh of relief, and looking up, said, "Sister, you’re so good! But when you’re not feeling well, you shouldn’t go out. You should have called the family doctor."

He muttered.

Tang Xiaohua pulled Tang Xiaocao into her own room, then set the bag of dicine down on a table nearby, squatted down, and holding Tang Xiaocao’s hands, she looked into her eyes,

"Xiaocao, this is the President Mansion, you know what this place represents, right?"

"I know."

"Utilizing the resources here is actually against the rules for us."

"... Umm."

"Receiving tutoring here instead of attending a school is a privilege only the President’s children possess. You and I are actually enjoying benefits that don’t belong to us. Xiaocao, I hope you rember this no matter what."

"..."

"The resources here are for you to use, but that doesn’t an you can really use all of them."

Tang Xiaohua wasn’t sure if Tang Xiaocao could understand what she said.

"Sister, I understand."

"..."

"Because it’s you who are sick, if it were , I would also feel embarrassed to ask Housekeeper Wei to call the family doctor. I’m not... the President’s son..."

Tang Xiaocao said softly, his clear black and white eyes steady on her.

Tang Xiaohua paused for a mont, then embraced Tang Xiaocao warmly,

"I can only do my best to give you the best I can, I respect your thoughts, but... I hope Xiaocao can understand that I also have my own things I want to do."

"Mmm, sister, I understand! You’ve given the best in the world!"

Tang Xiaocao stepped forward and hugged Tang Xiaohua.

Tang Xiaohua smiled, "Really?"

"Respect."

"..."

"Sister, the respect you’ve given is the best in the world."

Tang Xiaocao said earnestly.

Tang Xiaohua took a deep breath, thinking that Tang Xiaocao was an extraordinary child, his circumstances having shaped his current self which, beyond his peers, would define his future.

Wen Nian’s willingness to nurture him was the biggest resource for Tang Xiaocao.

"Sister, your stomach is upset, why don’t we go cook so noodles in the kitchen tonight?"

Tang Xiaohua hadn’t eaten much that day, only so vegetables for lunch as greasy food made her feel ill, and indeed, she was a little hungry now, and... seemingly had an appetite.

"Okay."

After agreeing with Tang Xiaocao, Tang Xiaohua entered the master bedroom.

She took out a suitcase and began to pack her belongings, mainly military items, then picked up the bag of dicine.

She ate a little in the evening, strolled around with Tang Xiaocao, then returned to her room.

With Wen Nian away, Tang Xiaohua still slept in his master bedroom, lying on that bed, she could see the starry sky and the red bellflower mural on the wall.

Tang Xiaocao also secretly sneaked over,

"Sister, I want to sleep with you..."

"Okay."

That evening, Wen Nian video-called her and ntioned her upset stomach. Tang Xiaohua imdiately glanced at Tang Xiaocao, only to find him already burrowed into the blanket, his face covered, obviously afraid of her glare.

"It’s nothing, I’ve prepared a lot of dicine. The doctor said it’s a mild gastritis; it will get better after so treatnt."

Holding her phone, the face of Wen Nian in the video also looked worn, yet he still appeared energetic despite the several-hour ti difference between the United States and G Country. In a while, he had a dinner to attend.

He had found the ti to video call them during their hours.

"I’ve only been gone a day, and you are already sick."

"It’s not related to your leaving. Besides, aren’t you coming back tomorrow?"

Tang Xiaohua said.

"Are you really just feeling so stomach discomfort?"

"Yes."

"If there’s anywhere else you’re feeling unwell, you must tell , okay?"

"Yes. What about you? Are you going to stay up late again tonight?"

"Maybe..."

"Ah... be careful with overworking yourself to sudden death, dying young."

"Is that how you curse your own husband?"

Wen Nian frowned, speechless at Tang Xiaohua’s unrestrained comnts.

Little did he know Tang Xiaohua was actually smiling happily.

Seeing her so happy, Wen Nian just let her be, just deeply looking at her through the screen...

Seeing his gaze, Tang Xiaohua blushed, "Xiaocao and I are going to sleep now, you keep busy."

"Xiao Li, you really don’t look well..."

Wen Nian said, his tone laden with concern.

"Tomorrow when you see , my complexion will definitely be rosy, I promise!"

Tang Xiaohua made a swearing gesture, eliciting a wry smile from Wen Nian.

After ending the video call, Tang Xiaohua set an alarm for seven o’clock. Tang Xiaocao, peeking out from the bed covers, was watching her set the alarm,

"Sister, if you’re not feeling well, why don’t you sleep in tomorrow and skip setting the alarm?"

Tang Xiaohua set the alarm, placed her phone on the bedside table, turned off the light, and lay down,

"I need to go to the hospital tomorrow morning to get a report and have an appointnt with a specialist at ten, so I’ll eat out at noon. Did you finish the howork assigned by the tutor tonight?"

"Still one-third to go, I’ll finish it tomorrow morning."

"Okay."

"Sister, do you want to co with you?"

"No need, I’m not a child."

Tang Xiaohua chuckled, her eyes already closed, as sleepiness overwheld her.

Tomorrow morning at ten...

She took a deep breath and shut her eyes.

The room was dark, but Tang Xiaocao was still wide awake, he always felt that there was sothing off about his sister, but he couldn’t quite put his finger on it.

...

The next morning when the alarm went off, Tang Xiaohua woke up. She had hardly eaten anything since yesterday, but she found herself retching over the sink for a while.

Tang Xiaocao saw everything but didn’t say much, instead, he fetched so porridge from the dining room early.

Tang Xiaohua had breakfast and then left the house.

She took a taxi directly to the hospital.

After breakfast, Tang Xiaocao obediently sat at his desk to read and do his howork.

When Wen Nian returned around nine in the morning, he searched everywhere but couldn’t find Tang Xiaohua. He asked Tang Xiaocao and learned she had gone to the hospital.

He called Tang Xiaohua, but the call didn’t go through.

Later, he found her blood test report from yesterday’s hospital visit in her packed suitcase, and he was frozen in the room—
