"Ghost! Ghost!"
The middle-aged man pointed at Song Lili and yelled!
"It’s this uncle..."
Tang Xiaocao spoke softly behind Song Lili. Song Lili glanced around the room, morized the man’s face, and then casually walked back carrying Tang Xiaocao.
Behind them, the argunt between the middle-aged man and the landlady continued!
Only the killer who murdered Tang Xiaohua would know about Tang Xiaohua’s death.
She dressed in Tang Xiaohua’s clothes with her face deliberately dirtied, carrying Tang Xiaocao. There was no way the killer would remain calm upon seeing her.
After returning ho with Tang Xiaocao, Song Lili ticulously cleaned the house again.
The kitchen had a large stove—it took her quite a long ti just to start a fire, as she was really not good at cooking. Luckily, there was so prepared bread in the cupboard, which she stead. They each had a bit to eat.
"Your sister is dead. I look very much like your sister, but we are two different people, understand?"
Tang Xiaocao nodded... they might look similar, but they were not the sa person.
"I’ll bury your sister. Tomorrow you’ll leave with , we’re going to live sowhere new."
"A new place?"
"Yes. You need to behave. I might not take care of you as ticulously as your sister, but I’ll share whatever food I have with you."
Tang Xiaocao nodded sowhat understandingly.
Song Lili was his only lifeline, and he clung to her desperately.
As darkness fell, Song Lili dragged the largest wooden box in the house out and loaded it onto a cart, then placed Tang Xiaohua inside, letting Tang Xiaocao add so wildflowers they picked at dusk by the fields.
She bowed with Tang Xiaocao before closing the box.
Song Lili pulled the cart with Tang Xiaocao sitting on it, following Tang Xiaocao’s mory to find the graves of Tang family’s parents—near those graves, Song Lili began to dig...
It was false to say she was not scared; if it had been the old her, she would never have been able to calmly do all this...
But then... rembering how Tang Xiaohua had been brutally murdered, rembering that greasy middle-aged man sitting at the doorstep eating lavish food, rembering all the horrifying faces in the world... the dead in this grave, those who had passed away, were much more at peace.
After they buried Tang Xiaohua, it was nearly ten o’clock.
She pushed the cart and took Tang Xiaocao back.
From a distance, she saw a broad and fat figure loitering around Tang Xiaohua’s house—Song Lili’s eyes grew cold; that was too quick.
"Xiaocao, wait here for and don’t go anywhere, okay?"
"..."
Tang Xiaocao hesitated; now, if Song Lili left his sight, he would feel uneasy.
"Rember, you promised to be good and obedient."
Tang Xiaocao nodded.
Song Lili patted his head and entered the house alone...
Approximately fifteen minutes later, just as Tang Xiaocao was starting to feel anxious and scared, Song Lili returned.
"Sister..."
"Let’s go ho and sleep."
"That uncle..."
Song Lili patted Tang Xiaocao’s head, "He’s no longer in our house."
Hell is empty, and all the devils are here.
She no longer believed in the saying that good is rewarded with good, and evil with evil; it’s not that there’s no retribution, just that the ti hasn’t co yet...
God is so busy, how could He keep track of every deed of retribution!
In this world, justice is supposed to reside in people’s hearts... useless, you have to take it into your own hands.
The next morning, Song Lili pulled out a suitcase and said to Tang Xiaocao,
"Take anything you want to bring."
Tang Xiaocao, dragging his little legs, took only a few clothes from the closet, but as soon as he put them in the suitcase, Song Lili, disapproving, took them out,
"We’re not taking these clothes; I’ll buy you new ones."
Tang Xiaocao then took a few items that Song Lili couldn’t understand, and carefully watched her expressions as he placed them in the suitcase, which made Song Lili sowhat embarrassed,
"Put them in."
Tang Xiaocao smiled, "Okay!"
At noon, under the bright sunlight, Song Lili pulled the suitcase and led Tang Xiaocao away from the village.
