Chapter 96: Chapter 96 Visiting Brothers_1

“Okay, then take good care of yourself,” ng Can’s tone was gentle. “If you haven’t fully recovered, don’t co to the office tomorrow. There’s no rush with work.”

“Alright, I got it.”

“Then rest well.”

“Mhm.”

Su Wanxia had just hung up the phone when her bedroom door was knocked on.

“Co in.”

“Miss Su, I’ll help you with washing up. Breakfast is ready.”

“Hehe, no need. My foot is almost healed. I can do it myself,” Su Wanxia said to Wen Li with a smile.

“But how can that be? The young master specifically instructed…”

“It’s okay, I’ll explain to him. Don’t worry, I really can do it myself.” After saying that, she walked back and forth a few tis. Although she was still slightly unsteady, it was better than being supported like an old lady.

Wen Li had no choice but to nod in agreent.

“Alright, then I’ll bring breakfast up.”

“No need. I’ll eat downstairs in the dining room.” Su Wanxia refused, feeling uncomfortable using his bedroom as a dining room.

“Well, okay, I’ll go and get ready.”

“Good.”

After washing up, Su Wanxia was escorted downstairs by two maids. She had said it was unnecessary, but they insisted, so she had to comply.

The breakfast was sumptuous and to her taste; it was obviously tailored to her preferences, the reason for which she understood without having to think about it.

Having finished breakfast, Su Wanxia suddenly felt bored.

She propped her forehead, thinking, then had them set up a lounge chair in the garden and moved her stack of books down beside the chair on a small tea table.

The sun was shining brightly today, and the sky was a deep shade of blue. Lying on the lounge chair and looking at the high, blue sky, her heart was infected with clarity and brightness, suddenly opening up.

The faint scent of chrysanthemum in the air made her mouth curve into a smile involuntarily.

In such a pleasant environnt, one could truly forget all troubles.

Su Wanxia had intended to go ho today and return to the office for work tomorrow, but upon hearing her plans, Wen Li looked at her with pleading eyes.

The young master had instructed that Miss Su must recuperate here for at least three days. With only one day passed, how could she leave? If she really went away, the young master would definitely think that they hadn’t taken good care of Miss Su.

Su Wanxia could see her difficulty and, after hesitating for a long while, she herself dialed Mu Yingchen’s number.

Her foot was really almost fine. As long as she didn’t wear high heels, she believed she could walk normally tomorrow.

Listening to the dial tone from the phone, she couldn’t help but curl her lips. His habits were still the sa as before; he never used any colorful ringtones or set any other songs for incoming calls, always using the phone’s default, so rigid.

Mu Yingchen might have been busy; it rang quite a few tis before he answered.

“What’s up?” His richly magnetic voice, laced with indissoluble tenderness and a hint of worry, sounded through the phone.

Hearing his sowhat enthralling voice, Su Wanxia’s heart skipped a beat before she spoke softly, “My foot is fine now. I was thinking of going ho today and returning to the office tomorrow.”

There was a long silence on the other end of the phone. Su Wanxia also felt sowhat at a loss, not knowing whether she should continue to speak.

After a while, Mu Yingchen’s sowhat helpless voice finally ca through.

“Take another day off tomorrow, and return to work the day after,” he said, and without waiting for Su Wanxia to say anything else, he quickly added, “I’m in a eting. If there’s anything, call

back later.” With that, he hung up the phone directly.

Su Wanxia pouted and sowhat gloomily placed her phone to the side.

Wen Li, who was beside her, saw her expression and knew for certain that the young master had disagreed with her leaving today.

“Miss Su, let

help you inside, if you’re bored, you can watch so TV.”

She could only nod and let Wen Li assist her into the living room.

The whole day was idly whiled away by her.

Around 6 p.m., she lay on a garden lounger, quietly watching the red sunset at the horizon, and couldn’t help but think of the first ti she t him.

The sunset that day was just as red, and she hid behind the poplar trees, waiting for his arrival.

Even though she had never seen him before at that ti, for so reason, the mont he ca into her view, she knew he was the one she was waiting for.

As these thoughts consud her, Su Wanxia involuntarily smiled; she couldn’t deny that back then, she was truly domineering, spoiled, and very strong-willed.

Under the questioning gaze of Yan Yirou and her friends, she shalessly followed him around.

However, if he had strongly rejected her at that ti, she wondered what they would have been like then?

“Wanxia!”

Su Wanxia was deep in thought when a call pulled her back to reality.

She turned her head towards the source of the noise and couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow.

“Wanxia, I’m really envious of you, how co I don’t get the sa treatnt as you?” Mu Chuyang complained with a troubled expression.

Ji Hua stood beside him, hands in his pockets, looking at him with disdain.

Su Wanxia smiled and asked, “You’re back from your business trip?”

“Yeah, Wanxia, you have no idea. I run around big and small rivers in the South and the North every day, carrying a briefcase and under the scorching sun. Tell , why is my life so hard? Which other young master works as bitterly as I do?” He concluded and glanced aningfully at Ji Hua.

“Hehe, last ti Hua said you’d be gone at least half a month. I didn’t expect you to co back so many days early.”

“If it weren’t for my naturally sky-high IQ, I wouldn’t have been able to co back in half a month, not to ntion a month,” Mu Chuyang said, full of indignation.

He couldn’t figure out why, although he had returned to the country at about the sa ti as Wanxia, and they both worked at the sa company, she seed to live a leisurely life every day while he lived a life full of misery and deep hatred. It was enough to bring him to tears just thinking about it.

“Chuyang, you could protest to your eldest brother,” Su Wanxia said, half-jokingly.

Mu Chuyang pursed his lips; he wouldn’t dare protest, and besides, these tasks were assigned to him by his second and third brothers.

“Chuyang, Hua and I have both worked our way up step by step just like you. Compared to us, you’ve got it pretty good, so stop complaining,” Ji Hua said, his mouth voicing words of comfort but his face wearing a schadenfreude smile.

“Easy for you to say,” Mu Chuyang muttered under his breath.

Su Wanxia had enough of the two brothers and swiftly changed the subject.

“By the way, what brings you both here?”

“We ca to see you. Heard you sprained your ankle again?” Mu Chuyang said, as he cast a glance at Su Wanxia’s foot.

Su Wanxia laughed awkwardly, “It’s nothing serious, just a minor sprain. There’s no problem with going to work now.” The problem is that Mu Yingchen insists on

going to work the day after tomorrow, she silently added in her heart.

“Hmm, it’s indeed not as severe as last ti,” Ji Hua also nodded, his hand on his chin.

If there had been any severity, his eldest brother wouldn’t have let her stay here; she would have been in the hospital, monitored closely by now.
