Chapter 164: Chapter 164: Found Out_1

Su Wanxia pouted again in dissatisfaction before she followed him out.

Once they arrived at the hospital garden, the dazzling sunlight imdiately bathed her in warmth.

It was currently winter, and the flowers had all entered their hibernation state, only the evergreen plants added a streak of green scenery to the garden.

Su Wanxia quickly took off her mask, but it was too late for Mu Yingchen to stop her.

She chuckled, “Wearing a mask is so stuffy, and you won’t let

breathe so fresh air when I finally get the chance to co out.” Then, she stuffed the mask into his large hand.

Removing the mask, she imdiately felt a coolness on her face, which was comfortable as the sunlight was good and mild on her skin.

Mu Yingchen looked at her with a helpless smile, always like a child, so disobedient.

Su Wanxia stretched out her arms and took a deep breath.

“I really feel like it’s been so long since I’ve basked in the sun–” she turned, her smile blooming as she looked at Mu Yingchen behind her.

The brilliant sunlight gilded her with a golden glow, dreamlike and unreal, so beautiful and so surreal.

The curve of her lips and her twinkling eyes made Mu Yingchen stare in amazent for a mont.

He beca sowhat fascinated by her, the unreal beauty in front of him, deeply stirring the softest part of his heart.

He took a step forward and took her into his arms.

Su Wanxia looked around sowhat embarrassedly and whispered, “People are looking.”

“Let them look, what does it have to do with us?”

Su Wanxia’s mouth twitched, how could it not matter, with so many people watching, it was so awkward!

But Mu Yingchen just held her tightly, and she, unable to resist, could only lean against him.

“In just over a month, it will be the Spring Festival–” Mu Yingchen suddenly beca sowhat sentintal.

Su Wanxia frowned and thought for a mont before she surprisedly said, “Yes, it’s so fast, before you know it, another year has passed.”

It really went by quickly, if Mu Yingchen hadn’t ntioned it, she would still think there were two or three months until the Spring Festival!

“This year has indeed gone by very fast.” Ti seed to fly by much faster when she was by his side.

In past years when she wasn’t there, he always felt the year stretched on endlessly.

“Thinking about it, it’s been so many years since I spent the Spring Festival at ho…”

“Then why didn’t you co back earlier?” Mu Yingchen suddenly looked down and asked her.

“I–” She was about to say I also wanted to co back, but the words were stifled before they could leave her lips.

“Because I have been working hard, striving…” She elongated her voice, feigning a relaxed tone.

“Did you miss ?” Mu Yingchen asked softly while holding her.

She paused, then definitively said, “I was so busy, how could I have ti to miss you…”

Mu Yingchen couldn’t help but laugh, then teasingly said, “But you had ti to draw my portrait?”

Su Wanxia imdiately looked up into his eyes filled with laughter.

“Great… that guy Mu Chuyang–” she gritted her teeth; she truly hadn’t expected he would know about it, it must have been Mu Chuyang who told him.

“Isn’t that right?” Mu Yingchen continued to press.

Now, she sounded sowhat less confident, “That–that was just sothing I drew when I was bored…”

“Then why didn’t you draw soone else, why just ?”

Su Wanxia’s pride was wounded; she fiercely glared at the man who was triumphantly basking in the mont.

“Why are you so annoying, I’ll draw whoever I want.”

“Hmm, but I’m glad you drew ,” Mu Yingchen’s smile widened even further.

When Mu Chuyang sent him the photo he had taken, he realized that during the years she was abroad, she hadn’t been without thoughts of him. It turned out he was not unrequited in his love.

Su Wanxia couldn’t help but curl her lips in disdain. It was just a portrait, wasn’t it? One of these days, she would make sure to draw every male friend she knew to see if that still made him proud.

Mu Yingchen was about to say sothing in response to her amusingly embarrassed expression when his phone rang.

He took out his phone, and a glint passed through his obsidian-like eyes as he looked at the caller ID.

“Why aren’t you answering?” Su Wanxia asked, puzzled, as she saw him staring blankly at the screen with the phone in hand.

“Heh, the number seems a bit unfamiliar, so it’s not worth bothering with,” he said, and hung up the call, slipping the phone into his pocket.

Su Wanxia raised an eyebrow. “So if one day I call you using soone else’s number, you won’t pick up either?”

Mu Yingchen furrowed his brows in thought for a mont, then nodded.

“That makes sense, I’ll have to answer it to make sure I don’t miss your calls,” he conceded.

Su Wanxia, in fact, had no idea that Yingchen’s number wasn’t sothing just anyone would know. The phone he always carried contained contacts who were close and essential; others he dealt with for work typically went through his secretary or office phone.

As the topic of phones ca up, Su Wanxia just rembered that her phone had disappeared after she was kidnapped.

“I don’t know where they took my phone…” she said with a frown.

“Once you’re out of the hospital, I’ll pick out a new one for you,” he replied.

“Why not now?” Su Wanxia asked, confused.

“You need to rest properly now. Plus, I am right here—do you still need a phone?”

Su Wanxia’s face twitched with annoyance. So he’s implying that she wouldn’t need a phone if he was with her? What kind of logic was that?

“The wind’s picking up, let’s go back,” Mu Yingchen said and proceeded to put the mask on her.

Su Wanxia pouted, then spat out discontentedly, “Domineering!”

Mu Yingchen gently stroked her head and then led her back inside.

Upon reaching the hospital room, it was almost noon. Yingchen said he would check out what was for lunch and told her to stay on the bed, then left the room.

Left with no other choice, Wanxia boredly picked up the book on the bedside table and started to read without much interest.

After stepping out of the room, Yingchen updated the attending caregiver and then headed to the nearby lounge.

This was the VIP area, where there are sitting areas outside the wards, so the place was empty.

He casually stood by the window, took out his phone, and dialed the number that had called him earlier.

“Mr. Mu!”

“Have you found out what happened?”

“Yes, but—” The person on the other end hesitated.

“But what?”

“But—Miss Su’s trip abroad six years ago has to do with the madam.”

Upon hearing this, Mu Yingchen’s brows imdiately knitted together—linked to his mother?

His hand gripping the phone tightened involuntarily.

With slightly parted lips, he commanded, “Tell —”

Wanxia had been waiting left and right but Yingchen hadn’t returned, leading her to feel even more bored.

“Why’s it taking so long—” she murmured to herself while fiddling with the book in her hands.

No sooner had she uttered these words than the door was opened.

She imdiately turned her head and started to complain to the person entering, “How could it take you so long? You’ve been gone for half an hour—”

Usually it took only a few minutes, didn’t it?
