Chapter 151: Chapter 151 Trapped in Desperation 2_1
After Mu Yingchen arrived at the villa that evening, he had so dinner and then went to the study to catch up on work.
It was almost ten o’clock when he finished washing up and went to bed to rest.
Before sleeping, he picked up his phone and dialed the number of the person who drove him crazy with longing, but after trying again and again, there was no answer.
He thought she must have already gone to sleep or hadn’t heard the phone, so he sent her a goodnight text and a ssage about picking her up at her house the next morning, but still, there was no response after a while.
He couldn’t help feeling puzzled, could she really have already gone to rest?
She often didn’t answer his calls before, so he wasn’t too suspicious about her not answering the phone or replying to ssages this ti, just assuming she hadn’t heard it.
The next morning, he drove to her house, checked the ti, and it was not even eight o’clock yet – she should be up by now, right?
He didn’t know if she saw the ssage he sent last night, but decided it was cold enough to let her sleep a bit longer.
Ten minutes passed, and instead of seeing Su Wanxia, he ended up waiting for her mother to see her father out.
As Su’s father was about to go to his own garage, he suddenly noticed a car parked not far away.
It looked familiar, but he couldn’t imdiately recall where he had seen it or who the owner was.
When Mu Yingchen saw Su’s father looking over, he quickly rolled down the window.
Recognizing him, Su’s father had a look of sudden realization – no wonder the car looked familiar, it was Yingchen’s.
Mu Yingchen also got out of the car, and as Su’s father approached with a puzzled expression, he asked, “Yingchen, it’s so early, what are you doing here?”
Mu Yingchen smiled and replied calmly, “I’m here to pick up Wanwan, is she up yet?”
Su’s father frowned, not quite understanding the aning of his words: “Isn’t Xiaxia in England?”
Now it was Mu Yingchen’s turn to be puzzled; he furrowed his brow and asked Su’s father, “Uncle, didn’t she co back last night? I was the one who brought her ho.”
A sudden shock went through Su’s father’s heart, and a bad premonition spread within him.
“No, she didn’t co back at all yesterday.”
“Are you sure you brought her ho yesterday?” Su’s father’s expression was particularly frantic.
Mu Yingchen’s heart skipped a beat – she didn’t return? But he clearly dropped her off at her doorstep last night, so how could she not have co back?
“Uncle, let
call and ask.” Mu Yingchen, suppressing the unease inside, quickly took out his phone and dialed Su Wanxia’s number.
“I’m sorry, the number you have dialed is switched off.”
He dialed again in disbelief, only to hear the sa ssage that the phone was switched off.
His composed expression instantly shattered, showing a look of concern.
Seeing his face, Su’s father beca certain of the thought in his mind.
“Xiaxia, she – could she be in trouble?” There was a tremor in his voice.
Mu Yingchen felt his hands trembling slightly as he held the phone, and he quickly dialed another number.
“Feng, is Wanwan with you?” he asked Mu Feng, full of hope.
“No, Wanxia didn’t co to see Xiaolan,” Mu Feng replied without hesitation.
Then he noticed sothing was off in Mu Yingchen’s tone.
“What happened to Wanxia? Is there sothing wrong?”
Mu Yingchen was very much afraid to hear words about Wanxia being in trouble – he feared that she truly might have had an accident.
“Have Xiaolan call Yan Yirou and the others imdiately, ask everyone, see if Wanwan is with them,” Mu Yingchen’s voice was as heavy as it could be.
Mu Feng sensed the seriousness of the situation and imdiately nodded in agreent.
“Yingchen, what ti did you bring Xiaxia back last night?” Su’s father asked Mu Yingchen, his face full of worry.
“It was around seven o’clock last night when I brought her back,” Mu Yingchen now deeply regretted why he hadn’t insisted on watching her enter the house before leaving. If he had, this situation might have been avoided.
Hearing his words, Su’s father felt a chill in his heart.
Xiaxia was not a child who caused worry. If she had gone sowhere, she would have certainly called to inform them, so they would not worry.
But it had been so long now without any news from her, it was highly likely that sothing unfortunate had happened.
Su’s father’s eyes narrowed, and a dangerous and unfamiliar look appeared in his normally gentle gaze.
Just then, Mu Yingchen’s phone rang.
He imdiately answered, “How is it?”
Mu Feng hesitated on the other line, then spoke in a low voice, “No, Wanxia wasn’t with them.”
Mu Yingchen’s hands clenched instantly, and a cold light flashed in his obsidian-like eyes.
“Contact our people, and have them imdiately investigate who was involved in any kidnapping around seven o’clock last night!”
“Okay.”
After hanging up the call with Mu Feng, Mu Yingchen felt as if he could hardly catch his breath.
If sothing had happened to Wanwan, he would make the one who hurt her wish they were dead!
“Uncle, have you received any strange calls from last night till now?”
“No!” Su’s father shook his head.
If they were after money, they would surely have called, but there hadn’t been a single call, not even after all this ti—
He couldn’t bear to think any further.
“Yingchen, we must report this to the police imdiately–”
Mu Yingchen pondered solemnly for a mont. Currently, there were no leads at all. The most urgent need was to ascertain what exactly had happened to Wanwan. They would have to file a police report and then review the surrounding surveillance footage to see if any clues could be found.
“Alright, let’s report it imdiately.”
When the police officers retrieved the surveillance footage, Mu Yingchen wished he could tear himself to pieces.
The cara was quite far away, and the images were small and blurry, but luckily, the events could still be seen.
Two minutes after he had driven away, his Wanwan was grabbed from behind, her mouth and nose covered, and dragged into a car.
From the clothing and build, there appeared to be four n.
Upon witnessing this scene, Su’s father clenched his fists sharply.
If he found out who these people were, he would ensure they suffered a fate worse than death!
The footage showed the car heading eastward, and they subsequently spotted the vehicle at two intersections, still moving in the direction of the east.
Further east from there was beyond the Fourth Ring Road, a very remote area with vast forests and hills, places where ordinary people wouldn’t usually go.
“It’s a fortunate stroke of misfortune that we at least know which direction they went,” the police officer said slowly.
“Uncle, you go with them and please be careful. I’ll head there now,” Mu Yingchen said icily before rushing towards the door.
“Ah? Yingchen—”
“Mr. Mu–”
Both Su’s father and the police officer called out at the sa ti, but Mu Yingchen vanished from their sight like lightning.
Seeing the situation, the police officer imdiately took out his walkie-talkie and commanded, “Team One! Team One! Follow my orders—-”
