Chapter 146: Chapter 146 The Eve of Returning Ho_1

Su Wanxia returned to the place where she was staying, opened the door to enter, and was surprised to find Mu Chuyang engrossed in looking at sothing.

Because he was facing away from her, she didn’t know what he was so focused on.

She quietly closed the door, then tiptoed slowly to a spot not far behind him, and on tiptoe, she peered over. She was instantly shocked.

“Mu Chuyang, who allowed you to rummage through my things!?” She stepped forward, snatched the drawing from his hands, and then hid it behind her back while looking at him angrily.

Mu Chuyang was startled by her sudden outburst, and he hadn’t even noticed when she had co back. Heavens, was he too engrossed in what he was seeing?

He kept patting his chest to catch his breath, then rambled at Su Wanxia non-stop, “Wanxia, can’t you make so noise when you co back? Also, you know, it’s really sneaky to just appear behind soone like that. Don’t you know you can scare soone to death? If I had a heart condition, I’d be lying on the ground motionless from fright by now, do you understand?”

Su Wanxia was instantly covered in taphorical black lines. How could this man’s mouth be like that of an old lady, constantly muttering and grumbling?

She was already lenient with him for peeking at her things, and now he was glaring at her first?

“Mu Chuyang, who allowed you to ss with other people’s things? Do you know how impolite that is?”

“Huh? Right, you’re actually stealing the image of my big brother!” Mu Chuyang raised his finger, pointing at Su Wanxia.

“I did not!” Su Wanxia countered, straightening her neck.

“You did too. I saw it. The drawing in your hand must be two or three years old, right? You hadn’t returned to China back then, had you? So this ans—you missed my big brother so much that you drew his likeness to alleviate your longing, right?” Mu Chuyang said with a teasing, mischievous grin.

Su Wanxia imdiately felt embarrassed and defensively said, “Don’t talk nonsense. I only drew this when I was bored and practicing!”

“Alright, alright, whatever you say. It’s not like you drew

anyway. But really, you have to say, the drawing is quite lifelike—those eyes, that posture, tsk tsk, how can it be so accurate?” Mu Chuyang shook his head in amazent.

Su Wanxia was now utterly disdainful of Mu Chuyang. How could he rummage through things like a woman at ho? As a grown man, why was his curiosity so imnse?

“Pack your things. We’re returning to China tomorrow!” Su Wanxia, keeping the drawing behind her back, dropped this remark to Mu Chuyang and then headed to her own room.

Once in the bedroom, she spread the drawing flat on the bed and stared at the image, losing herself in thought.

She had drawn it when she first started working, during a ti at ho when she was sketching design drafts, yet sohow, her thoughts drifted to Mu Yingchen, who was far away in China.

At that ti, she thought she would never see him again and had unconsciously captured the way he looked in her mory.

Looking at the lifelike features of his face in the drawing, she couldn’t bring herself to throw it away, but she couldn’t hang it up either, so she folded the drawing and placed it in an art book on the shelf.

That art book was one she had read while in school; therefore, she hadn’t really looked at it since starting work.

After tucking the drawing inside, she never touched it again, but how did Mu Chuyang manage to find it today?

Alas, now that he would return and might tattle to Mu Yingchen, Yingchen would likely start to act smug again, wouldn’t he?

Su Wanxia truly regretted it now—her intestines turned green with remorse. If only she had hidden the drawing better or simply thrown it away, she could have avoided Mu Chuyang using it to tease her.

In fact, Mu Chuyang had already taken a photo of the drawing and sent it to Mu Yingchen the mont he saw it, only she was unaware of it.

If she knew, who knows if she might get so angry that she’d spit blood—

The next day, Su Wanxia got up early, tidied up everything that needed to be packed, made so breakfast, and then woke Mu Chuyang, who could sleep even more than she could.

Mu Chuyang ca out of his room, squinting and yawning, and imdiately muttered discontentedly, “Wanxia, aren’t you usually quite the sleeper? How co you’re up so early today? I haven’t had enough sleep.”

Su Wanxia sat down at the dining table and gave him a glare, “Forgot the ti of your flight just from sleeping?”

With that, Mu Chuyang suddenly snapped awake. He looked at the ti and imdiately cried out, “Oh shoot! It’s already eight o’clock!”

“Yeah, hurry up and wash your face,” said Su Wanxia as she started to eat.

This ti, Mu Chuyang didn’t dare to dawdle; he turned and headed towards the bathroom.

His flight was at nine-thirty, and he woke up at eight—with a bit of a rush, he should be able to make it on ti, he thought as he quickened his pace.

As Su Wanxia was eating breakfast, Jesse called to say he would arrive in about 20 minutes and then drive them directly to the airport.

She took a couple more sips of milk from her cup and began to urge Mu Chuyang to hurry.

Despite a rush here and a delay there, everything was ready before Jesse arrived.

Su Wanxia handed the keys to Jesse with a light laugh, “Jesse, here are your keys back, thanks for letting

stay here all these years for free.”

Hearing this, Jesse couldn’t help but smile helplessly, “Keep the keys. If you co back here soday, it’ll be convenient for you to stay.”

“That wouldn’t be right. You should take them back. If soone else needs a place to stay, they can co here,” Su Wanxia said as she pushed the keys back towards him.

“Sumr, just keep the keys. I have a spare set,” Jesse insisted on not taking them back.

He simply wanted to keep a faint hope, wishing that one day she would co back here, as this place belonged only to her.

Seeing Jesse’s determination, Su Wanxia could only put the keys back into her bag; anyway, she wouldn’t be coming back to stay, and since he had a spare set, it didn’t matter where the keys ended up.

Mu Chuyang watched the two of them from the side and couldn’t help but purse his lips; the person was leaving, yet the hope remained. What good were the keys if she never returned—wouldn’t it all be in vain?

Once on the car, all three were silent. Su Wanxia couldn’t help but ask Jesse about the client he had gone to see the day before.

Jesse paused for a mont, then said, “It’s a friend of my father’s; he wants our help in finding soone.”

“Oh, so he ca here to find soone,” Su Wanxia casually replied.

“Yeah, but—” Jesse looked a bit troubled.

“But what?”

“But it’s tough. He doesn’t know what this person looks like, where they might be or even their full na. All he knows is it’s a girl, 25 years old this year. How do you find soone like that? It’s like finding a needle in a haystack,” Jesse said.

After hearing his description, Su Wanxia also fell silent. It indeed sounded difficult; how could anyone find a person when they knew nothing about them? But 25 years old—that was her age as well.

“Then why even try to find her? It’s practically impossible.”

“Oh, by the way, I heard she’s Chinese,” Jesse added.

“Oh? That narrows the range down a little bit,” Su Wanxia raised an eyebrow.

“Yeah, they said they’ll send over a picture in a while. I’ll send it to you when I get it. You’re staying in China, maybe you’ll run into her by chance one day,” Jesse said half-jokingly, clearly not taking the random eting too seriously. It would be too coincidental to just run into soone like that.

But Su Wanxia still smiled and nodded, “Sure, why not?” Maybe one day she would actually run into her.
