Chapter 100: Chapter 100 Who Took Her Docunts?_1

Su Wanxia’s heart fluttered for a mont, it had been only a few days since she had heard his voice, yet it felt like a very long ti had passed.

She moved her lips, phone against her ear, softly replying, “Not yet.”

“Are you thinking about ?”

Su Wanxia’s eyes twitched, where did he get the idea that she was thinking about him?

Although, there was a little bit of truth to it.

“I am not.” Her tone carried a bit of annoyance, as if her inner thoughts had been exposed.

“Is that so? What are you doing then?” Mu Yingchen’s tone was tender and deep, causing her heart to speed up instantly.

She humd a response, dragging out the sound, and said sowhat uneasily, “I was just getting ready for bed.”

“ too.” Mu Yingchen followed imdiately after her remark.

But before Su Wanxia could say anything, he added, “However, I’m kind of missing you.”

When Su Wanxia heard his emotionally charged words, her heartbeat raced even faster, and a faint red hue appeared on her fair face.

She inwardly cursed herself for being so weak, blushing just because of his words.

But she couldn’t help feeling a secret delight in her heart.

“Mhm.” She humd shyly.

Although Mu Yingchen couldn’t see her at that mont, he could tell from the tone of her voice that she was pleased.

His mood suddenly improved inexplicably.

“Then—are you missing ?”

Su Wanxia’s face reddened even more. Even if she were missing him, how could she possibly admit it now, especially since she did indeed miss him just a mont ago?

No, not just a mont ago, it was every night before bed that she couldn’t help but think of him.

This seed to have beco a habit for her over the years.

“I want to sleep, don’t we have a eting tomorrow?” Su Wanxia deflected the embarrassing question.

Mu Yingchen seed to ponder for a mont at the other end of the line, then said softly, “Mhm, then you should rest early.”

“Mhm, you too.”

“Good night—”

“Good night—”

After hanging up the phone, Su Wanxia’s heart was still racing. She patted her chest in frustration, a surge of vexation—what’s there to be excited about, it’s not the first phone call, what’s there to flutter about.

Even though she thought so, the smile on her lips betrayed her true feelings.

Hearing his voice before sleep, hearing that “good night” he said, she was content.

The next day, she arrived at the company early, as there was an end-of-project summary eting for the Bali Island project today, which mainly focused on finalizing the post-renovation designs.

She had prepared all the sample designs she was responsible for; even the materials to be printed were not missed.

After finishing all the materials needed for the eting, she took a long sigh of relief.

Looking at the ti, it was already past nine o’clock, the eting was to start at ten, so there was still so free ti.

Then she walked out of the office with her cup in hand.

To make a cup of coffee to perk herself up, lest she drift off during the eting.

Once she had made her coffee, she went directly into ng Can’s office with the cup in hand.

ng Can was bending over, organizing a thick stack of docunts, no need to guess, she knew what it was.

“Can, are you ready?” she asked with a smile as she approached.

“Sumr,” ng Can looked up with a hint of surprise.

“Are you all ready?”

“Yeah, everything’s OK.” Su Wanxia said, leaning against his desk with a cup in hand.

“I really didn’t expect that it’s been less than two months and the work is about to end,” ng Can said, a bit sentintal.

Su Wanxia chuckled softly, “Can, when did you start sounding so old and pedantic? Listen to yourself, my goodness, it really doesn’t suit your usual style.”

“Haha, really?” ng Can looked a bit uncomfortable.

“I just feel like ti has passed so quickly, and I’m also surprised at how smoothly the project design has gone.”

“Yeah, I didn’t expect it to be done so quickly, either. But that just shows how efficient we are at our jobs. Otherwise, our reputation as international designers would have been a laughing stock,” Su Wanxia said proudly while sipping her coffee.

ng Can sat at his desk, looking at her beautiful profile, and a smile creased his lips.

If she could be like this every day, he would be relieved.

“That’s true, but Sumr, the eting is about to start. Let’s get ready to go,” ng Can said as he stood up with the docunts in hand.

“Mm, you go on up and save

a spot, sowhere in the back, alright?” Su Wanxia winked at ng Can and then turned to leave for her own office.

ng Can laughed quietly to himself and then headed out of the office will a smile on his face.

Feeling good, Su Wanxia returned to her office, casually placed her cup down, and moved to her computer to pick up the docunts she had prepared.

But the blue folder that was supposed to be in front of the computer was now gone.

She paused, gave it a second look and, indeed, there was nothing there.

Puzzled, she furrowed her brow, sure that she had left the docunts right there. Why had they disappeared?

She carefully searched the entire office, but it was nowhere to be found, not even a trace.

Glancing at the clock, only 10 minutes remained until the start of the eting, and all her docunts had vanished. How was she supposed to attend the concluding eting?

How was she supposed to submit all her design plans to the investors?

Today’s eting was extrely important; it wasn’t just Mu Yingchen and the other project designers who would be there, but other investors and additional mbers of the Mu Family Board as well.

If she couldn’t present the summary plan and design samples, then she—

With this thought, she briefly closed her eyes. She hadn’t expected such a mishap today.

Who could it be?

There should be surveillance at the door, but with ti being of the essence, she had to get the docunts ready first.

She quickly pulled out a set of keys from her drawer and opened a small cabinet below, which held many docunts, all neatly sealed in individual paper bags.

She grabbed the one from the top, tore open the seal without hesitation, and pulled out a thick stack of papers.

They probably didn’t anticipate that she had a backup.

This had always been her habit; she would render two copies of the final design drawings for every project, big or small—one to keep as a nto, and the other as a precaution.

Today, it really ca in handy.

She scoffed coldly and didn’t stop to think too much.

She quickly powered up the computer and, focusing intently, opened folder after folder, rapidly hitting print.

Reprinting these docunts would take no more than five minutes, but if she’d lost all those design templates, just re-rendering and printing one would take a significant amount of ti. If she had to start all over, even a full day might not be enough.

She narrowed her eyes, thinking that soone had plotted this very well!

Unfortunately, she was probably going to disappoint them.

By the ti she had organized all the docunts, it was already ten o’clock. Ignoring the disorder she’d made in her office, she grabbed the materials and ran out the door.

She didn’t choose the elevator but headed straight for the stairs.
