After a night’s rest, Ann Vaughn finally regained her spirits.
But as soon as her mind cleared up, Ann Vaughn realized things had gone awry.
—In a mont of impulse last night, she had recklessly brought a bunch of strangers into Number 8!
She had lost her mind!
She was treating this place as if it were her own ho!
Ann Vaughn rushed out of the room in a panic, just in ti to run into Eli Sheridan.
"Annie, good morning." Eli Sheridan smiled warmly, his features handso, "How did you sleep last night?"
"Pretty well!" Ann Vaughn nodded like a pecking chick, her heart burning with anxiety, "Brother, I forgot to tell you, this isn’t my ho, I’m just staying here temporarily, if the owner cos back and finds a few strangers at ho—"
The consequences would be unimaginable!
Upon hearing this, Eli Sheridan raised an eyebrow, oh? When did that fox Cyrus Hawthorne start taking the roundabout route?
Thinking back to when Cyrus Hawthorne divorced his sister less than two months ago, then managed to trick her back.
And he even successfully got engaged to his sister?
He skipped the boyfriend stage entirely, ascending faster than a rocket.
Now the progress is this slow...
Thinking of this, the smile on Eli Sheridan’s face was as gentle as flowing water.
But this gentleness only lasted for a mont, then turned into guilt and heaviness, "It’s all brother’s fault for not finding you sooner, leaving you with no choice but to stay with others, brother is ashad."
"No, it’s not..." Ann Vaughn was stunned, how did this beco Eli Sheridan’s fault??
"I wanted to ask you last night if you’d like to co ho with us, but I was worried you might not be ready to accept it, so I held back." Eli Sheridan sighed, "The family misses you very much."
Family?
Ann Vaughn’s eyes were puzzled, her long lashes fluttered a few tis, then she shook her head, "Not now, I... I’m not ntally prepared yet."
Although Eli Sheridan was sowhat disappointed, he thought that if he could take Annie ho while Cyrus Hawthorne and J.B. were not around, even if they wanted to stop it, it would be too late.
After all, the father and son duo were abroad, and the other was still out "roaming" since last night.
But since Ann Vaughn was unwilling, Eli Sheridan certainly wouldn’t force her.
"There’s also another matter regarding those four people," Eli Sheridan said softly, "I’ve already arranged for soone to call their parents, they’ll co soon to pick them up."
With Cyrus Hawthorne not currently in the country, the villa only housed Annie and Kenny, so how could Eli Sheridan be at ease with several strange n here?
Even if they were still unconscious, it was not acceptable.
Ann Vaughn did not know Eli Sheridan’s thoughts, she simply thought he was helping her out, and looked at him with a little more trust.
"Thank you, brother!"
Eli Sheridan curved his lips, his smile restrained, but in his heart, he was elated.
Just as Eli Sheridan said, in less than half an hour, the families of those four arrived.
What parents could bear seeing their lively sons lying there like corpses, motionless, visibly withered and emaciated?
One of the mothers couldn’t take it and covered her mouth, crying.
"Who the hell put my precious son in such a state?!"
As soon as these words fell, the eyes of the other parents turned on Ann Vaughn and Eli Sheridan, filled with undisguised suspicion and anger.
"What did you do to my son?! How could he end up like this?!"
"I always wondered why my son didn’t co ho during school holidays, turns out you detained them here!"
"They are just children, how could you be so heartless?! Are you even human?!"
"Why waste ti talking, call the precinct and have them send soone to handle this!"
The four parents were almost ready to convict Ann Vaughn and Eli Sheridan.
"Bite the hand that feeds you." Ann Vaughn uttered coldly.
No one likes being blad after helping others.
Especially when these parents ca in without asking a single question, directly pinning one accusation after another on them.
Hearing Ann Vaughn’s words, one pair of parents pointed at her fiercely, "Who are you calling a dog? I’ll have you know we have connections in the precinct, and if you end up inside, you’ll never get out again!"
Eli Sheridan had been calm, but seeing that person pointing at Ann Vaughn, a murderous intent appeared in his cold eyes.
"If you don’t want your hand, I can chop it off to feed dogs."
An invisible aura hit them, and those parents’ expressions imdiately changed, stepping back in fear.
The other parents were apprehensive, not daring to insult them anymore.
At this mont, a servant entered with several bowls of herbal soup, saying to Ann Vaughn, "Miss Vaughn, the dicine is ready, shall we administer it now?"
Upon seeing the dicine in the servant’s hands, the recently pacified parents exploded again.
"No! What are you trying to give our sons to drink?! We absolutely do not agree!"
"As long as we’re here, you can forget about torturing our sons further!"
"They’re surely using this dicine to harm our sons! We absolutely can’t let them succeed!"
As if afraid Ann Vaughn would instruct the servants to harm their sons, one by one, they picked up their sons and rushed out.
Seeing this scene, Ann Vaughn felt it was absurdly funny.
"Once you step out that door, your sons’ lives will no longer have anything to do with . Even if you co begging later, I will never help save your sons again."
Not to make a harsh statent, but to draw a clear line with these people, to avoid future entanglents.
She had saved those four from the containers, which had been an act of benevolence, beyond that, there was nothing more.
Those parents, hearing this, didn’t stop their steps; they walked away even faster.
Before long, the villa was completely quiet again.
"Breakfast wasn’t finished earlier, would you like to continue eating?" Eli Sheridan asked softly.
Ann Vaughn looked at him, surprised, "I thought you’d persuade to keep them, after all, those are four lives."
Eli Sheridan smiled and shook his head, "Because brother has a cold heart."
If those four lives were to be exchanged for Ann Vaughn’s patience and grievance.
Ha—
Then forget it.
Upon hearing this, Ann Vaughn suddenly felt her previous somber mood lift, "Do your best, leave the rest to fate. We’ve done what we could, what cos after... no longer concerns us. I’ll go check on Wilder Sheridan."
After speaking, Ann Vaughn took the tray from the servant and walked towards the door.
Eli Sheridan didn’t leave imdiately but instructed the servant, "Don’t clean this room yet, keep it as is."
"Yes, Mr. Sheridan."
