Because she tossed and turned all night and couldn’t sleep, Ann Vaughn got up very early the next day.

After going downstairs to make two portions of dicinal food and breakfast, Ann Vaughn casually ate a bit, then picked up one of the dicinal foods and went out the door.

Ann Vaughn originally thought Susie Somrs wouldn’t be awake at this ti, so she planned to leave the items and go.

But she heard the sound of a dispute coming from the ward.

"...Why are you so despicable? First, you stole my man, and now you co to fight for my sister’s fiancé, clinging on like a clown. You’re really shaless!"

"Are you done talking? If you’re done, then get out of here and don’t pollute the air!" Susie Somrs’ voice sounded sowhat weak, her aura significantly diminished.

"If anyone should get out, it’s you! I’m warning you, if you dare ruin my sister’s wedding, I’ll make sure you can’t stay in The Imperial Capital for the rest of your life!"

Susie Somrs glared coldly at Leona Chambers, water dripping from her head, her pale face expressionless.

"A word of advice, instead of pointing fingers at here, you should manage your own affairs."

"Hm." Letitia Chambers sneered, "You fell in love with both your stepbrother and your little uncle. Susie, I’ve never seen a more shaless woman than you. If your mom knew about this, she’d probably wish to shove you back into her womb!"

Under the blanket, Susie Somrs’ hand slowly clenched, her almond-shaped eyes filled with coldness.

After a mont, Susie Somrs looked at Leona Chambers’ arrogant deanor and couldn’t help but laugh.

"I heard that after your miscarriage, Silas Master Moore imdiately broke off the engagent with you? If you’re so capable, why can’t you keep a man? Or is it that you only know how to act tough in front of ?"

Leona Chambers had always believed that Silas Master Moore breaking off the engagent had sothing to do with Susie.

Upon hearing her sarcastic remarks, the hatred in her chest was about to explode.

"Bitch!" Leona Chambers imdiately raised her hand and slapped Susie Somrs hard on the face!

Unfortunately, as soon as her hand ca down, it was intercepted by a slender wrist.

"Smack—"

A clear slap echoed in the ward.

Leona Chambers’ face was slapped to the side, her hair ssily covering her face, eyes wide open, filled with anger and disbelief.

"You—"

Leona Chambers just started speaking when another crisp sound resounded on the other side of her face.

Seeing the symtrical red handprints on Leona Chambers’ face, Ann Vaughn shook her hand and sneered, "Dare to say another word, and believe , this face of yours will never see daylight again."

Covering her now red and swollen cheek, Leona Chambers looked at Ann Vaughn with eyes filled with venom, wishing she could tear her to pieces.

"Not leaving yet? Not painful enough?" Ann Vaughn raised her wrist again.

As soon as she raised her hand, Leona Chambers retreated several steps, grabbed her bag, and fled in panic.

Ann Vaughn tugged at the corners of her mouth, "What a coward, making break my gentle and ladylike persona."

Hearing Ann Vaughn’s remark, Susie Somrs couldn’t help but burst into laughter, "My dear, those two slaps you gave were so cool, you totally hit my happy spot!"

Ann Vaughn turned to see Susie Somrs’ damp hair and hospital gown, her brows imdiately furrowed.

"Wait a mont."

Having said that, Ann Vaughn went to the bathroom to wash her hands, then returned with a towel to dry Susie Somrs’ hair.

Seeing Susie Somrs in such a disheveled state, Ann Vaughn couldn’t help but curse, "Those two slaps were too soft on that woman."

Susie Somrs was about to laugh when Ann Vaughn continued, "Luckily, I sared so itching powder in my palm. It won’t kill her, but it will certainly drive her crazy with itchiness!"

That powder was originally given to her by Sherry for self-defense; she hadn’t expected it to be used so soon.

Moreover, the itching powder was too simple in its usage, so there was no antidote; the effects would only wear off in three days.

The gloom in Susie Somrs’ heart vanished instantly, and she hugged Ann Vaughn’s slender waist, exclaiming, "Honey, if you were a man, I’d definitely marry you!"

No one had ever been better to her than Ann Vaughn.

Ann Vaughn was not accustod to being so intimate with people, but considering Susie Somrs’ bad mood, she didn’t stop her from snuggling.

"I’ll speak to the hospital later to make sure no more riffraff is allowed in here, so you can recuperate in peace."

"Sure thing, Your Majesty is the boss!"

...

About two hours later, Ann Vaughn finally left the hospital and went to Vaughn Clinic to change her dressing with Sherry.

Unexpectedly, as she entered the lounge, Ann Vaughn saw Josiah Keaton sitting there casually...

"What are you doing here?"

"Waiting for the rabbit," Josiah Keaton humd with narrowed eyes, standing up and walking over to her.

Ann Vaughn instinctively stepped back, her gaze wary on him, "Stay away from , don’t get too close."

Seeing Ann Vaughn’s guarded and distant manner, Josiah Keaton vaguely felt a bit of toothache, supporting his hand on the wall behind her, looking down at her.

"I’m not going to do anything to you. Why are you guarding against so much?"

His words sounded like a grievance, but Ann Vaughn remained expressionless, "Weren’t you the one saying you’d cook alive last night?"

Because the person Josiah Keaton carried off last night wasn’t her, Ann Vaughn didn’t feel much.

Poor Sept, he still hadn’t recovered from last night’s trauma.

Josiah Keaton snorted, "If it weren’t for you, would I have lost my mind?"

"..." Ann Vaughn’s mouth twitched, pushing him away before asking, "What do you want from ?"

"I’m not familiar with The Imperial Capital, so I’m allowing you to take to the best restaurant here."

"I’m busy." Ann Vaughn flatly said and turned to leave.

Josiah Keaton frantically shouted after her, "Regarding the rejuvenation drug, I’ve made so progress!"

Rejuvenation?

Hearing those words, Ann Vaughn instinctively stopped and turned to ask, "What kind of cuisine do you like?"

Josiah Keaton: "..." He’s pissed!

After changing her dressing at Vaughn Clinic, Ann Vaughn located a nearby restaurant and had Josiah Keaton drive there.

There weren’t many people in the restaurant at this hour, a gentle violin lody playing softly, creating a tranquil and pleasant atmosphere.

Just as Ann Vaughn was about to open the nu, Josiah Keaton began ordering seven or eight dishes with the server.

...All of which were her favorites.

Ann Vaughn silently closed the nu, watching Josiah Keaton who seed used to this, and couldn’t help but touch her nose.

"You really did know before."

It wasn’t a question this ti, but a certainty.

Josiah Keaton let out a soft laugh, his ice-gray eyes slightly lifted, "Whether you’ve truly lost your mory or are just playing gas with , now that I’ve caught you, I won’t give you a second chance to run."
