As the sound of the wind chis clattered more frequently, Warren Vance remained silent, as if pondering whether or not to speak with her.

Ann Vaughn felt increasingly confused, glancing at the ongoing call on the screen, she asked, "Warren, are you still there?"

"I’m here." Warren Vance replied quietly, "Sorry, I got a bit distracted."

"It’s okay. Did you have sothing you wanted to tell earlier?"

"S Country is not like Gothasen. As the crown prince of Gothasen, I can’t leave arbitrarily. Therefore, I may not always know if you are in danger; you must be careful on your own." Warren Vance’s tone changed, advising her solemnly.

Could there be danger here?

Ann Vaughn did not quite understand what he ant by this, about to ask him when she heard the wind chis ringing even louder from his end.

Jingle, jingle, jing—

Ann Vaughn’s grip on the phone suddenly loosened, and her previously clear eyes gradually beca dim.

Not knowing how much ti had passed.

Ann Vaughn suddenly opened her eyes, realizing she had unknowingly fallen asleep, and the window light was dim, indicating it was evening.

She glanced down at the phone beside her, the call had long since ended.

"I can’t believe I fell asleep while on the phone; what stealthy sleep technique am I practicing, really..."

Ann Vaughn rubbed her cheek with one hand, trying to wake herself up, then got up and left the room.

Stepping out of the room, Ann Vaughn saw there’s an ice cream cake shaped like a castle on the floor ahead.

Ann Vaughn picked up the cake, her fingertips accidentally triggered a chanism, causing fireworks to pop up instantly from the castle in the air.

Atop was a small banner that read:

"The heavens vast, the wilderness broad, Mommy eats it all in one gulp."

"Haha." Ann Vaughn burst into laughter, warmth spreading in her bright eyes, "Your mommy is not a pig, how could she eat it all in one gulp?"

How much luck had she spent to find such a little treasure?

With this thought, she didn’t seem so unfortunate after all.

Seeing Ann Vaughn smilingly carrying the cake to the dining room, Kenny and Susie Somrs in the living room breathed a sigh of relief.

"I was almost scared to death by your mommy, afraid she’d get upset inside the room." Susie Somrs said, patting her chest, still worried.

Little Dumpling shook his head, confidently said, "She won’t, Mommy might not understand at first, but she won’t stay upset for long."

Have to say, Little Dumpling knows Ann Vaughn well.

After devouring the entire ice cream cake, Ann Vaughn went online to search which renowned doctors were in S Country.

Soon, a list of doctors’ credentials appeared on the screen, with the top-ranked one being a female nad...

Aquarelle Vaughn.

The instant she saw those two words, Ann Vaughn felt as if soone tugged on a nerve in her brain, causing her eyebrows to knit in pain.

Ann Vaughn tapped her forehead, trying to dismiss the discomfort, then clicked on Aquarelle Vaughn’s credentials.

It was completely blank.

Ann Vaughn exited the interface, typing those two words in the search bar, then began searching.

"Annie, what are you doing?" Susie Somrs entered the dining room, sitting down opposite Ann Vaughn.

"Susie, are you familiar with Aquarelle Vaughn?" Ann Vaughn looked at the alert on the screen and straightforwardly asked Susie.

Since Aquarelle Vaughn was ranked first among the doctors in S Country, Susie might have heard of her.

Perhaps this doctor could cure her hand...

"Uh, uh?" Susie was montarily stunned by Ann Vaughn’s words, regaining her senses, she looked at her with a complicated gaze, "I know her, yes."

Isn’t she seated right in front of her?

Ann Vaughn’s eyes curved, "That’s great. Do you know which hospital she works at?"

Susie imdiately panicked, stamring, "She, she doesn’t work in a hospital, she seems to have opened a clinic..."

"What’s the na of the clinic?"

Susie nearly couldn’t hold back, about to confess directly to Ann Vaughn.

But the thought that if she proactively revealed these matters to Ann Vaughn, and Ann Vaughn fainted from the shock, possibly never waking again, Susie restrained herself intently.

She couldn’t risk Ann Vaughn’s life as an experint.

"The clinic’s called Vaughn Clinic, but appointnts are notoriously hard to get. Luckily I know people there, if you need, I can arrange it for you." Susie cald down and said.

Peeking through the dining room door was Little Dumpling, who blinked, staring intently at his mommy.

Seeing she showed no unusual signs nor appeared uncomfortable, he finally relaxed.

...

Vaughn Clinic.

"I’ve already told you, Annie would never agree to your unreasonable demands! You people have severely disrupted our work; please stop calling unless necessary!"

"I don’t care if you’re the Lockwood Family or others, no ans no! Do you not understand human speech?!"

As the final syllables landed, Sherry hung up the phone with a smack, her expression quite foul.

"Sherry, how dare you speak to the Lockwood Family like that? It’s said the Lockwoods hold imnse power, countless elites beg them for dicine." The receptionist said, trembling with fear.

"Isn’t this the third ti? What exactly does the Lockwood Family want our boss to do?"

"Usually when unruly clients scold you, you smile tolerantly, how co you lose control when it involves the boss?"

Sherry brushed them aside, "Stop gossiping here, do your jobs well."

How could she possibly endure?

If asked who Sherry hated most in the world, it would certainly be Lucy Lock and Micah Hawthorne.

Back then Shuhua Vaughn had already been ruined by them, now they wanted to harm her daughter too?

No way!

Just then, Sherry’s phone dinged.

Seeing the ssage, Sherry’s face lit up in joy, she quickly headed toward the break room.

anwhile, Ann Vaughn and Susie had entered Vaughn Clinic’s back door, directly arriving at the break room.

For reasons unknown, everything here gave her an inexplicable feeling of familiarity.

It was as if she had been here before but couldn’t recall any details.

"Susie!" Sherry stepped into the break room, instantly spotting Ann Vaughn standing in front of a painting, with reddened eyes.

"Cough cough cough!" Susie forcibly coughed a few tis, then introduced, "Sherry, this is my friend, Ann Vaughn."

Sherry ca to her senses, recalling Susie’s earlier instructions, then said to Ann Vaughn, "I’ve heard your situation from Susie, co sit down, I’ll check your hand."

Ann Vaughn retrieved her gaze from the painting, eting Sherry’s gentle eyes, she smiled faintly.

"Thank you."

After sitting down, Ann Vaughn extended her wrist towards Sherry, watching her massage the acupoints in her hand with a sudden heartbeat.
