Betty, who ca in with the afternoon tea, happened to hear Ann Vaughn’s words, and she was so scared that she almost dropped the tray in her hands, her face turning pale.

Other than Your Majesty, no one has ever dared to speak to His Highness in this way.

Warren Vance didn’t answer Ann Vaughn’s question but instead asked, "Did Breeze make you angry?"

"..." Ann Vaughn imdiately felt like she’d punched a cotton ball. "You know why, so why ask?"

"What did he do?"

Ann Vaughn touched the edge of the bandage on her eyes, pursed her red lips, and after a while, she asked him, "Warren, are you really stupid or just pretending to be?"

"Hmm?" Warren was puzzled.

"Although my eye injury is serious, it shouldn’t have shown no signs of improvent after such a long treatnt... unless the initial dicine used was wrong, or soone deliberately wanted to delay my recovery," Ann Vaughn said frankly, breaking the silence.

Upon hearing this, Betty looked shocked.

On the other end of the phone, Warren’s voice remained calm, "You figured it out?"

"So it was you." Although she was prepared, hearing this answer made Ann Vaughn explode, "What on earth did I do to offend you that you want to torture like this?!"

If he didn’t want to see her doing well, then he shouldn’t have saved her in the first place.

What was the point of saving her only to tornt her like this? Did he consider her a toy for his leisure?

"No particular reason." Warren’s tone was indifferent.

Ann Vaughn imdiately hung up the phone.

"Princess..." Betty looked at Ann Vaughn’s angry appearance, hesitating to speak.

Ann Vaughn slightly tilted her head, "What’s wrong?"

"No... nothing," Betty said softly.

Ann Vaughn was confused but didn’t pursue the matter, found the remote on the sofa, and opened the floor-to-ceiling curtains to let the sunlight in.

Night fell.

The night breeze blew in from the half-open floor-to-ceiling window, and the heavy curtains swayed like waves.

A tall figure quietly appeared on the terrace. Stretching his long legs, he took a few steps from outside the floor-to-ceiling window and entered the room. His gaze swept around, taking in everything in sight.

Finally, his eyes settled on the slender figure lying silently on the bed, and he walked over.

"I knew you would co." Ann Vaughn, who had been asleep, suddenly moved and slowly sat up.

Although she couldn’t see or hear a sound, Ann Vaughn could feel that soone had co.

Breeze slightly raised an eyebrow, his voice tinged with laughter, "Princess is so eager for my visit?"

"How long do you plan to keep playing this role-play ga?" Ann Vaughn calmly asked, "Do you think I won’t recognize you just because you changed your voice?"

"Cyrus Hawthorne."

At the mont her words fell, Ann Vaughn was embraced into a warm and broad arms.

Cyrus Hawthorne raised one knee to half-kneel beside her, wrapped his arms around her shoulders, and pulled her into his embrace with increasing strength, as if he wanted to rge her into his own blood and bone.

"I’m here."

His voice was low and hoarse, completely different from the light and mocking tone from earlier.

Just in an instant, Ann Vaughn’s eyes turned red, and her nose began to feel sore.

She punched his shoulder hard, trying to break away from his embrace, but he only held her tighter, nearly suffocating her.

But Ann Vaughn didn’t care. Surrounded by the warm and cool scent on him, the fear and grievances that had accumulated in her heart over the past few days finally found an outlet to be released.

"You know how scared I was here alone; blind, only surrounded by strangers, every little thing would make anxious, and yet you still deliberately frightened !"

"Everyone wants to take advantage of my vulnerability, and you too find it fun to bully , don’t you!"

"Cyrus Hawthorne, you’re going too far!"

Originally, Ann Vaughn just wanted to question Cyrus why he intentionally scared her, but as she spoke, her emotions burst out like floodwaters through a breached dam, completely out of her control.

Ann Vaughn’s voice, filled with repressed sobs, seed like a sharp knife, piercing straight to Cyrus Hawthorne’s heart.

In an instant, the calm and rationality he prided himself on shattered like dust.

Cyrus Hawthorne did not dodge Ann Vaughn’s punches, and he tightly embraced her constantly struggling and trembling body, his adam’s apple moving with difficulty.

"It’s my fault. I shouldn’t have deliberately teased you, nor should I have found you so late." Cyrus said in a low, hoarse voice, gently patting her back for comfort, "You can punish however you want, just don’t cry, okay?"

Ann Vaughn’s small face buried in his shoulder, the bandage over her eyes slightly damp, even with traces of blood seeping through.

She habitually wanted to swallow the pain, but as Cyrus gently patted her back, she rembered she was no longer alone.

"I’m in pain." Ann Vaughn murmured, her small hands tightly clutching his sleeve.

A rare trace of panic flickered in Cyrus’s deep gaze as he cupped Ann Vaughn’s face, noticing the bandage over her eyes tinted with blood. His brows furrowed deeply.

The liquid mixed with blood moistened her cheeks, making her look pitiful.

"No more crying," Cyrus said in a deep voice. He removed the bandage from her eyes, carefully cleaning the liquid from her eye area and cheeks, and re-applied the dication.

Focusing on the injury on Ann Vaughn’s eyelid, a hint of ferocity crossed Cyrus’s furrowed brows, his entire aura turning cold.

Ann Vaughn detected that the dicine Cyrus applied wasn’t from the dical box; judging by the ingredients, its efficacy was several tis that of the dicine Kira gave her.

Moreover, he wouldn’t have traces of the dicine’s scent on him unless he carried it with him at all tis.

So the faint dicinal sll she picked up from "Breeze" earlier was actually this...

By the ti Ann Vaughn realized this, Cyrus had already finished applying the dication and re-bandaged her eyes.

Once the congestion and grievances in Ann Vaughn’s heart dissipated, they were replaced with a strong sense of embarrassnt.

"I didn’t an to lose my temper or be unreasonable with you, I’m sorry," Ann Vaughn said softly, lowering her head in embarrassnt to apologize to Cyrus.

Cyrus’s narrow eyes darkened as he gently rubbed her head, "Your emotions are never unreasonable to , and there’s no need to apologize."

Because everything about her, whether good or bad, he treasured dearly.

Compared to the Ann Vaughn of the past who was always cautious around him, the Ann Vaughn who now openly expresses her grievances and anger pleases Cyrus even more.

Ann Vaughn’s eyes turned sour again, but fearing she would cry off the hard-earned applied dication, she held back her tears.

Seeing her pouty and tear-restrained appearance, the smile in Cyrus’s eyes deepened as he pulled her down onto the bed.

"How did you find ? And how did you get in here as Breeze?" Ann Vaughn asked, adjusting to a more comfortable position, her voice muffled.
