Night fell, and all was silent.

The slightly drawn curtains kept the pale moonlight at bay, enclosing the room in a sultry and beguiling spring scene.

The room was dimly lit, with shadows cast on the walls in a hazy ambiguity, accompanied by the rising and falling of soft gasps and moans, making even the air intensely hot.

"Little girl," the man’s low laughter gently reached her ears, "unspoken rules are not to be abandoned halfway."

"...Enough already!!" Ann Vaughn was mortified, her face blushing as if she’d had a drink, "I was joking, who told you to take it seriously!!"

If she had known things would turn out like this, she wouldn’t have dared utter that cheeky remark!

Cyrus Hawthorne’s voice was hoarse, rich in texture, making Ann Vaughn’s earlobes feel weak, "Giving you another chance to put the unspoken rule on , hmm?"

Realizing that her defenses were about to crumble again, Ann Vaughn’s eyes flashed with panic, "Cyrus Hawthorne! You beast!!"

"The fire you’ve kindled cannot go unquenched."

"..."

...

After the tumultuous night, the next morning, Ann Vaughn felt like a dried-up salted fish, ready to be served without even flipping over.

While the Little Dumpling went to the kitchen to get sothing, Susie Somrs nudged Ann Vaughn’s hand, looking at her with a knowing glance, "You look so thoroughly satisfied. If I hadn’t taken Kenny to my place last night, who knows what he might have heard."

"Speaking of which, isn’t your man still recovering from his injuries? How can he have so much energy to keep up with you?"

Supporting her chin, Ann Vaughn looked drowsy, but upon hearing Susie’s words, her eyes opened.

"What kind of scandalous words are those?" she sighed heavily, "I’m puzzled too. Logically, given the severity of his infection, his body should remain weak for a while after detoxification."

"Yet he’s bouncing back in less than two weeks, acting as if nothing happened... Why is there such a big difference between people?"

Susie thought for a mont, "You did say he was infected three tis, could it be so sort of mutation?"

"The probability of that is about 0.01%." Ann Vaughn rubbed her sore waist, "If I’d known he would recover so quickly, I’d have never flirted with him."

She just assud his illness would make him weak enough that teasing wouldn’t lead to anything serious, so she was so bold.

Turns out she was just a stupid sheep sending herself into the wolf’s den.

"What can I say to you now as a weak woman who can’t even get a taste of at?" Susie almost turned into a lemon with envy, "So people have it easy, while others have it hard."

Ann Vaughn had just taken a sip of milk and almost choked on Susie’s words.

"Cough, cough—" Ann Vaughn set down the milk, looking at Susie with so surprise, "Weren’t you always the type to pursue if you could and say goodbye if you couldn’t, moving on to the next? Why spend so much ti on Uncle Julian of the Moore family?"

Given Susie’s vast number of past relationships, it seed harder for her to remain faithful than to fly to the sky.

Susie sighed, "Uncle Julian is like a snow lotus on high mountains, I wouldn’t dare be too reckless in front of him."

For example, just grasping his wrist the other day, and he ran off to the Temple of the Clear Heart early the next morning...

Talking about it filled Susie with woe, "He goes to the Temple of the Clear Heart so often, I suspect he thinks I’m a demon and needs to find a high-monk to exorcise !"

Given Julian Master Moore’s pure lifestyle, indifferent to worldly matters, as clean as a blank sheet, Susie, with her bold and passionate nature, full of tricks, is truly an exception.

Ann Vaughn listened and earnestly asked Susie, "Aren’t you?"

Susie: "That’s just hurtful, isn’t it?"

...

Maybe it was because of the deep resentnt of a weak lady craving but not getting a taste of at, for the next few days Ann Vaughn didn’t see any sign of Cyrus Hawthorne.

It was as if he’d vanished into thin air.

Initially, Ann Vaughn didn’t think much of it, practicing her final scene at ho for a long ti, hoping to nail it the next day.

The next morning, Ann Vaughn arrived at the set early.

Unexpectedly, there was a group of journalists camped outside the "Morning Phoenix" set, and as soon as Ann Vaughn approached, they sward toward her.

"Miss Vaughn, we heard that yesterday on the ’Morning Phoenix’ set, birds circled above due to your piano playing. Do you have any comnt on that?"

"Could the forr Mrs. Hawthorne share her views on the breakup of her marriage with Mr. Hawthorne?"

"We’ve heard rumors that you divorced Mr. Hawthorne because of an unclean private life. Is this true?"

"Have you faced many adjustnts after the divorce from Mr. Hawthorne?"

Sharp and pointed questions were thrown at Ann Vaughn from all sides, with noisy voices surrounding her, but her mind quickly cald down.

Ann Vaughn looked up at the reporters, her lips curved slightly, "Do you know who I am?"

The reporters thought she was trying to use her identity to intimidate them and imdiately rolled their eyes.

"Aren’t you now Mr. Hawthorne’s ex-wife?" a sarcastic voice ca from the crowd.

Ann Vaughn smiled slightly, "No."

The reporters were stunned, not? Could it be she and Mr. Hawthorne have reconciled?!

Then they heard Ann Vaughn say each word clearly, "I am Ann Vaughn."

After saying this, Ann Vaughn didn’t pay attention to these montarily stunned reporters, reached out to part the crowd blocking her path, and walked toward the set.

No sooner had she left than these reporters drafted headlines and content, and posted everything that just happened on social dia platforms.

So unscrupulous reporters deliberately twisted Ann Vaughn’s words, implying that without Mr. Hawthorne, she was nothing and could only rely on tough words to regain so dignity.

However, unexpectedly, this post was t with mass ridicule.

— The blogger must have a screw loose, right? If it were being asked those questions, I would have started cursing long ago. And she was still being polite? Ann Vaughn’s temper’s a bit too soft!

— Not necessarily, what she said last, "I am Ann Vaughn," is the biggest counterattack against these unscrupulous journalists.

— Take Miss Ann Vaughn away, we’re not eting. Please pay more attention to the soon-to-be nationally launched cancer cell inhibitor and the female-friendly dysnorrhea dication patch. Our Miss has always relied on talent!

— Counting the awards Ann Vaughn has won over the years, plus her contributions to the dical field, I’m embarrassed for these reporters casually labeling her. People can be ignorant, but not blindly arrogant.

Seeing more and more people scolding, with heat and traffic increasing, the reporters who wanted to delete the post a mont ago imdiately decided to endure and even pinned this post to the top.
