"They accused us of selling fake dicine and deceiving custors. The people sent from above didn’t even give us a chance to explain, they just sealed off the clinic and prohibited us from operating!"
Sherry’s anxious voice ca through the phone, reaching Ann Vaughn’s ears, making her sit up straight imdiately, "Where are you? I’ll be right there."
With that, she apologized to Eli Sheridan on the other end of the call, then disconnected.
She quickly organized the docunts on the table and walked swiftly towards the door.
The call was on speaker, so even though there was so distance, Eli Sheridan still roughly heard what Sherry said.
It was completely impossible for Vaughn Clinic to sell fake dicine.
"Investigate the situation about Vaughn dical Hall, Imperial Capital being shut down, and find out who gave the order. Report back to imdiately once you’ve figured it out," Eli Sheridan instructed his assistant, with an unusually cold expression.
"Yes, I’ll get on it right away," the assistant replied without hesitation.
...
Inside the car parked not far from Vaughn Clinic.
Ann Vaughn looked at the tightly closed glass door, feeling extrely distressed.
"This is all my fault... The custor who bought the suppressant insisted that we gave him fake dicine and even reported us," Sherry said, full of guilt. "They claid that they have both witness and material evidence, demanding us to cease operations for investigation."
They say it’s to cease operations for investigation, but when can we resu? Isn’t it up to those above to decide?
Ann Vaughn shook her head slightly and rationally replied, "It’s not your fault. Even without you, the Hawthorne Family would have found another excuse to shut down my clinic sooner or later."
"Why do you suspect it’s the Hawthorne Family’s doing?"
"The timing is too coincidental. Harold Hawthorne would never willingly let the Hawthorne Group fall into my hands. This little trouble is just an appetizer."
Throughout the Imperial Capital, only the Hawthorne Family has the power to send people down the sa day and seal off a small clinic.
Even though she prepared herself ntally, Ann Vaughn still couldn’t help but feel a tightness in her chest.
Could she really hold on until Cyrus Hawthorne returns?
Listening to Ann Vaughn’s comfort, Sherry felt a bit better. The phone on her lap suddenly vibrated.
Sherry picked it up, and the next mont her expression changed dramatically.
Seeing her expression was off, Ann Vaughn frowned and asked, "What happened now?"
Sherry’s face turned extrely unpleasant, as if she was suppressing imnse anger, and she trembled as she spoke, "The two traditional Chinese dicine practitioners who were learning to use the suppressant with you resigned before the clinic was sealed."
Having sensed sothing, Ann Vaughn’s eyes narrowed slightly, "Could it be..."
Sherry took a difficult breath, "You guessed right. That bastard sold the suppressant’s formula and thod of use—for five million—to a pharmaceutical company, and the company owner is a mber of the Pharmaceutical Association."
Her sources were always reliable, and Ann Vaughn had no reason to doubt the truth of her words.
She just didn’t expect...
"To think he worked at the clinic for so long, yet his vision was so short-sighted," Ann Vaughn said, lowering her eyes, with a faintly mocking smile on her lips.
The suppressant’s formula and thod of use were posted in the lounge where everyone in the clinic could see.
But would she really be naive enough to reveal all her cards to outsiders?
Sherry sighed disappointedly, "Those two idiots didn’t even know you originally planned to give everyone in the clinic a 1% bonus once the suppressant hit the market."
The future of the suppressant was promising, and it’s no exaggeration to say that there’s never been such a groundbreaking drug in the history of S Country.
They probably never imagined that they would give up such long-term benefits for a re five million.
"It’s not entirely a bad thing," Ann Vaughn said blandly.
Eliminating potential tumors within Vaughn Clinic at such a critical ti is better than finding out about their dual intentions after they’d dealt a hidden blow later on.
But being stabbed in the back by soone she once trusted at such a crucial ti was ultimately not a pleasant feeling.
As of now, Vaughn Clinic could be said to be under attack from all sides.
However, what Ann Vaughn didn’t know was that danger was quietly approaching number 8.
Leo Lowell recently found Levi Lowell’s actions increasingly incomprehensible, becoming sowhat ridiculously indiscreet.
This ti, Leo Lowell waited only a few minutes outside the children’s room before Levi showed up...
He was holding Kenny, who had already been drugged unconscious.
"What did you do to him?" Leo Lowell grabbed Levi’s arm, stopping him from leaving.
Levi, a bit impatient, struggled to shake off his hand, "Don’t make noise, what if he wakes up and gets discovered?"
Saying that, Levi pulled out a stack of blueprints from his pocket, his eyes faintly gleaming with excitent.
"You’ll never guess where I found these things."
To an outsider, even with clear labels of the parts’ uses on the blueprints, it would still be difficult to understand what they were for.
But to people like Leo Lowell and Levi, who had imrsed themselves in this field for years, the purpose of these blueprints and who created them... was imdiately obvious.
There was only one person in the world capable of designing such uniquely lethal weapons—
My King!
Leo Lowell furrowed his brow, "And this has to do with you drugging the young master how?"
He knew Levi had been observing Kenny for days and had even intruded on the children’s room several tis, but couldn’t stop him.
"I once saw him secretly drawing these blueprints in the room," Levi’s gaze suddenly turned a bit mad, "so there’s no mistake—this kid could very well be My King!"
To think a person hailed as a world-class weapon design master... could be a three-year-old toddler!?
Leo Lowell’s usually calm face suddenly cracked, his eyes filled with doubt, "Are you sure?"
"Heh," Levi admitted with a cold laugh, "This kid has quite the counter-surveillance ability, if he hadn’t been so focused while drawing, I would never have discovered his secret."
Several tis he almost caught .
Leo didn’t know what Levi did to unearth Kenny’s secret, but after his initial shock, he felt an indescribable mix of emotions.
At three, the Family Head could already assemble firearms with his eyes closed and independently modify and enhance any weapon.
Yet, unexpectedly, the young master was also so incredible, designing so many powerful weapons at such a young age...
This father and son pair seed born to overwhelm others.
"Now that you know this secret, what do you plan to do?" Leo asked.
Levi’s eyes flickered slightly, "Don’t worry about it, I know what I’m doing." With that, he shook off Leo’s hand holding his arm and headed downstairs with Kenny.
