The situation suddenly beca uncontrollable. Amidst the chaos, soone fiercely kicked Ann Vaughn’s knee, causing her to bend over from the sharp, stabbing pain, her face turning exceedingly pale.

"You heartless scum! My son is my only child. If anything happens to him, I’ll make everyone at the Vaughn Clinic pay with their lives!"

The middle-aged woman holding the child was the most agitated, disregarding the security’s attempt to stop her, and charged forward trying to scratch Ann Vaughn’s face!

Ann Vaughn felt as if her breath was stuck, uncomfortably caught in her throat, looking up to see the middle-aged woman’s sharp nails reaching for her. She instinctively raised her hand to block.

"Slash—"

The sound of nails tearing skin was startling, just hearing it would make one’s scalp tingle.

But Ann Vaughn didn’t feel the pain of being scratched on her arm; she raised her head in astonishnt, with the sight of an impeccable black suit first catching her eye.

Her gaze lifted, and the man’s handso face seed shrouded in an icy coldness, with a glance from his narrow eyes instilling a deep-seated fear.

"Quinn?" Ann Vaughn’s eyes widened, automatically glancing at his right hand being drawn back, seeing it indeed covered with scratched blood marks.

anwhile, The Shadow Guard had completely taken control of the clinic.

Especially those who were causing the most trouble a mont ago; they couldn’t even touch the hem of Ann Vaughn’s clothes anymore.

However, Ann Vaughn felt no joy from this; her eyes blazed with a fiery intensity, her voice gritting with anger, "Sherry, get the antidote pills."

"Okay." Sherry steadied herself, not knowing why Ann Vaughn needed the antidote pills, but she turned to retrieve them regardless.

As soon as she got the antidote pills, Ann Vaughn imdiately poured so for Cyrus Hawthorne, her small hand reaching up to his lips, her tone urgent, "Eat them."

The coldness in Cyrus Hawthorne’s narrow eyes receded sowhat; hearing this, he didn’t ask any questions, simply lowered his head and swallowed the pills from her palm.

Seeing him take the antidote, Ann Vaughn finally let out a sigh of relief.

But what surged into her chest next was deeper fury.

Never had she felt such anger, not even when these people insulted Vaughn Clinic, threatening to shut them down.

She turned her head towards the still-quarreling instigators, abruptly raising her voice, "Shut up!"

The troublemakers fell silent for two seconds, then erupted into even more malicious questioning.

"You dare tell us to be quiet? Is this how your clinic treats patients?!"

"Is there no justice? This clinic sells bad dicine for profit and even lays hands on us!"

"We’re not done with you. Expect a subpoena from the court, you rotten bitch!"

As the accusations grew more unpleasant, the aura around Cyrus Hawthorne turned chillingly ominous as he raised his hand slightly.

The Shadow Guard, acting on his command, pressed a small weapon against the temple of the foul-mouthed instigator, their gaze like looking at a dead person.

The entire Vaughn Clinic fell into dead silence.

The troublemaker’s voice seed forcibly extinguished, terrified to even breathe too heavily.

Ann Vaughn nodded towards Cyrus Hawthorne, then addressed the troublemakers, "You all have sudden allergic reactions because of the special dicine you took from here, right?"

"It’s laughable, you aren’t even flu-stricken, why did you take special dicine? How did these allergic reactions occur?"

Upon hearing these words, the middle-aged woman holding the child couldn’t stand it any longer and retorted, "You’re supposed to be a doctor! Blind? My son has had a high fever since taking your dicine!"

"Cough, cough cough!" The child in the woman’s arms, whose mouth was slightly open gasping for air, suddenly coughed up blood, staining his collar in the blink of an eye.

The troublemakers standing beside them hurriedly backed away, terrified it was so contagious disease!

"Ah—he’s coughing blood!"

"The dicine is harmful!"

"Your son isn’t suffering from the flu, it’s pneumonic plague." Ann Vaughn said, her face slightly stern as she walked over to check the child’s pulse, "Lay him on the bed, hurry."

The middle-aged woman was shocked by her words, her mouth moved a few tis as if she wanted to say sothing, but the child coughed up more blood.

She imdiately panicked, not hesitating for a mont more, laying the child on the clinic’s small resting bed as Ann Vaughn instructed.

Ann Vaughn endured the pain in her knee, crouching down to elevate the child’s head with a pillow to prevent him from choking on his own blood, then took the dical kit handed over by Sherry.

She took out a pack of needles, looking up at Cyrus Hawthorne saying, "Quinn, don’t let them co near."

Standing beside her, Cyrus Hawthorne nodded slightly to The Shadow Guard, signaling them to comply.

The Shadow Guard then drove both the troublemakers and guests towards the entrance, forming a barrier none dared to cross.

Following that, Ann Vaughn had Sherry distribute antidote pills to the guests in the clinic, warning them to go to the hospital imdiately if they felt uncomfortable.

Pneumonic plague can be transmitted via the respiratory system, so everyone present was susceptible to infection.

While administering acupuncture to the child to control his condition, Ann Vaughn explained to the middle-aged woman.

"The symptoms of pneumonic plague may resemble the flu, but taking special dication is ineffective. If you feel it worsens after taking dication, it’s because it hasn’t been treated, worsening the symptoms."

Unlike the spontaneous outbreaks of Red Plague in Eland, dostically, cases of plague infection leading to death due to untily treatnt occur almost annually.

What’s strange is that this doesn’t draw widespread attention, and many are unaware.

After saying this, Ann Vaughn glanced at the troublemakers, "By the way, you all have pneumonic plague, not the flu."

At Ann Vaughn’s words, the arrogant troublemakers’ faces all changed.

How could they possibly have the plague?!

"That’s impossible! President Fuller from Ansel clearly said we were perfectly healthy!"

One person, unable to contain his impulse, blurted out the doubt simring within.

Little did he know, his words were akin to self-exposure.

The guests inside the clinic couldn’t help but show disdainful expressions.

"Ansel? Isn’t that a famous pharmaceutical company?"

"I figured, how co others were fine after taking the special dicine while they had issues, suspected it was allergy due to physique, who knew their hearts could be that vile!"

"If you’re so healthy, why the hell were you taking special dicine? Looking for trouble? If we can’t buy special dicine because of you idiots, I’ll ensure you regret it!"
