"Miss Vaughn, long ti no see." Miya Yates was the first to speak, nodding to Ann Vaughn.

"Long ti no see, but..." Ann Vaughn raised her eyebrows slightly, her bright eyes scanning the pink and white ceramic teacup in Miya’s hand, "I don’t really like others casually using my things. Could you please put the teacup in your hand down?"

Furthermore, she had clearly stored this set of teacups in the deepest part of the tea cabinet, yet Miya Yates was able to find them.

Was it a stroke of genius, or was it intentional?

Miya Yates was montarily surprised before putting the teacup down, "Ah, the Family Head asked to wait here for him for a while, and to pass the ti, I couldn’t help but make so tea... It just so happened that this tea set was one I had never used, so I thought I’d try it. I’m really sorry."

So during her absence on the 8th, was Miya Yates a frequent guest here?

So frequent that every set of teaware in the tea cabinet had been used by her??

Ann Vaughn’s red lips slightly twisted, further fueling the flas of her already irritable heart, diminishing her impulse to go upstairs and question Cyrus Hawthorne. She just wanted to leave here as soon as possible.

Unexpectedly, Miya spoke again, asking her: "Miss Vaughn, I’d like to ask for your help with sothing. I wonder if that’s okay?"

"Ask for help?" Ann Vaughn looked at her with doubtful eyes.

"Yes. You might not know this, but ever since Levi Lowell and Leo Lowell disobeyed the Family Head’s orders last ti, taking you to Eland and were caught by him, they have been continuously punished..." Saying so, Miya smiled at Ann Vaughn, "I know you did it out of concern for the Family Head, and I also understand your standing in his eyes."

"So could you please speak a few good words for Levi and Leo to the Family Head and have their punishnt lifted? Being punished for so many days is really enough."

Levi and Leo were punished because of her?

If these words were spoken by soone else, maybe Ann Vaughn would believe them, but perhaps out of intuition, she felt that Miya Yates hadn’t fully explained the situation.

It seed more like... she was stirring up her feelings of guilt.

After all, according to Miya’s explanation, Levi and Leo would not have been punished if she hadn’t insisted on them taking her to Eland.

"Miss Vaughn," Miya Yates’s eyes flashed with a gleam, then she stood up and bowed deeply to Ann Vaughn, "I’m asking you to help them."

This sudden gesture left Ann Vaughn slightly surprised; she had just thought to herself no wonder Levi was clearly her loyal follower, when she heard a voice coming from behind.

"Miss Miya!" Levi rushed over, lifting Miya from her bow, "You needn’t lower yourself to beg her; how do we deserve such an action from you?"

Though they were the Shadow Guard Captains, now ex-captains, compared to Miya, they were hardly comparable at all.

Yet Miya would actually stoop down to ask for help from their least respected Amy Ann Vaughn...

How could the prideful Levi bear this?

The more composed Leo did not speak, but the emotion in his eyes was undeniable.

Upon hearing Levi’s words, Ann Vaughn couldn’t help rolling her eyes indecorously, as if implying it was her who forced Miya to beg her.

Such a strong fan filter, really??

"Levi, Leo?!" Miya looked at the brothers before her with great delight, smiling faintly, "You are fine, that’s good."

"Thank you for worrying about us." Levi and Leo lowered their heads with a deep sense of apology.

Ann Vaughn didn’t care much for this scene; she only gained a new understanding of Miya’s thod for winning hearts.

She wasn’t interested in their matters nor was she planning to stay here to watch their loving drama, she turned to head upstairs.

Only to see a familiar tall figure walking down from upstairs against the light, his stance graceful, steps steady, an aura too strong to be ignored.

"You’re back?" The man said upon seeing Ann Vaughn standing at the foot of the stairs, his voice showing not a shred of emotion, as if her days away didn’t matter at all.

—Leaving her completely uncertain of his true feelings at the mont.

Ann Vaughn inexplicably shrank within herself, forcing composure as she t his gaze, "Who said I agreed to co back, I’m here to retrieve Kenny and my luggage!"

"Oh?" Cyrus Hawthorne slightly raised his head, locking his narrow eyes on her pretendingly calm little face, he calmly said, "Husbands and wives do not have reason to live apart for long, if you want to go back ho, that’s another matter."

The prerequisite being, she could go back ho.

Upon hearing this, Ann Vaughn couldn’t help but clench her fists tightly, glaring at him — this man knows perfectly well she doesn’t want to be entangled with the Sheridan Family, yet he says it intentionally!

Clearly telling her there’s no other way but to stay.

"Living apart for more than two years is considered automatic divorce!" She rembered hearing soone ntion this before, and without thinking, she used it to retort to Cyrus Hawthorne.

By this ti, Cyrus Hawthorne had co to her side, upon hearing he turned around, raising his eyebrows as he looked at her, "The law requires a divorce to be filed with the court, along with proof of separation lasting over two years. Do you have it, Mrs. Hawthorne?"

"I of course—" Ann Vaughn was about to confidently say she had, but with an instant realization, she found sothing was off.

In these four years under public eye, "Ann Vaughn" wasn’t her, but Cynthia Sheridan, raising a problem – where would she find proof of their separation?

After all, the person abroad for four years was Aquarelle Vaughn, not Ann Vaughn.

Darn!

This man!

Ann Vaughn gritted her teeth, he had pinned down her weakness from the start, and knew well she would never escape his grasp...

Although she currently doesn’t have thoughts of divorcing him, the feeling of being caught in his ticulously planned traps everywhere was really suffocating!

Just when Ann Vaughn felt frustration rising to the top of her head, suddenly she felt softness on her lips, startling her as she looked up, seeing Cyrus Hawthorne’s handso face up close and his deep sunken narrow eyes.

After a most lingering kiss on Ann Vaughn’s lips, Cyrus Hawthorne slowly let her go, watching the little hamster-like person who seemingly cald down, he smiled lightly, "Accept your fate, you’re my wife for life."

He is a born hunter.

Ever since she willingly stepped into the perfect trap he set, she would never escape.

"Hiss—" Ann Vaughn was pulled back to reality by the sound of a sharp inhale from beside her, turning her head, seeing Levi and Leo’s astonished faces, and Miya’s slightly stiff expression, at that very instant she wished she could bury herself.
