After discussing business, Susie Somrs suddenly spoke with a hint of teasing in her voice: "Hey girl, is President Hawthorne treating you well? Is your married life blissful? Need so external help from to spice things up?"
Susie Somrs’ triple questions almost made Ann Vaughn choke on her words, her face turning red, "Please don’t, be serious now."
Just thinking about the wedding gift from Susie Somrs made her blush with embarrassnt.
She still hadn’t dared to take it out of the suitcase.
"Oh, you heartless girl, who am I trying to help here?" Susie Somrs pretended to whimper in grievance, laughed even more heartily, "You both waited for each other for fifteen years, surely you can handle a little fun of this sort?"
The blush on Ann Vaughn’s cheeks gradually faded, her gaze dimd. She didn’t explain anything, but her throat tightened, "People change, Susie."
"What?"
"Does Heroine Somrs have ti tomorrow? How about helping with sothing big?" Ann Vaughn softly looked at her abdon, then answered in a way that seed evasive.
Hearing Susie Somrs agree, Ann Vaughn chatted a bit more and then hung up.
She thought about what Susie Somrs had just said, her delicate eyebrows furrowed more tightly.
Both personally and professionally, she didn’t believe that soone as self-disciplined and ticulous as Cyrus would let unqualified dicine enter the market.
There’s no benefit, only harm, and it would just damage his reputation, sothing he wouldn’t do.
Before Ann Vaughn could think clearly about what to do the next day, the butler ca up to remind her that the remaining dicinal herbs had arrived, asking her to co down to check them.
Ann Vaughn then gathered her thoughts and went downstairs. Taking the needed herbs, she entered the kitchen, carrying the dicine pot she brought to prepare the dicine.
While the dicine was stewing, Ann Vaughn also received a list from the herb supplier, and she was shocked to see how large the expenses had been since the small clinic opened, not to ntion the herbs for the jade cream hadn’t arrived yet.
Yet Ann Vaughn refused to use cheap herbs for extracting dicine; each herb could only yield less than three drops of essence.
Unless absolutely necessary, Ann Vaughn wouldn’t want to use the extracted dicine, not only because it requires much effort but also because its powerful effects are unimaginable, especially when combined with Golden Needle acupuncture.
An hour and a half later, the dicine was finally ready.
As Ann Vaughn carried the dicine upstairs, she saw Sutton Jennings had returned, leaning against the wall outside the room as if waiting for her, his almond eyes calm as water.
"Mr. Jennings, could we discuss sothing?" Ann Vaughn’s eyes shifted as she spoke to Sutton Jennings: "Having others around can affect my performance, so please wait outside no matter what noise you might hear, and please don’t interrupt."
If he saw what she was about to do to Sawyer Jennings, she feared she’d be thrown out directly.
Sutton Jennings nodded slightly, seeming to think of sothing, and said gently: "You can call by my na, there’s no need to be so formal."
Ann Vaughn was taken aback, and for so reason quickly blurted out: "Sutton Jennings?"
The next mont, she saw a hint of a smile in Sutton Jennings’ eyes, sowhat flustered, she quickly carried the dicine into the room.
As she expected, Sawyer Jennings hadn’t touched the snacks she sent and refused to drink the dicine, turning his head away as if protesting.
Such a childish little rascal.
Thinking this, Ann Vaughn rolled up her sleeves, pinched Sawyer Jennings’ thin face with one hand, holding the bowl of dicine with the other, and poured it directly into his mouth!
To prevent him from spitting the dicine out, Ann Vaughn pressed on his acupoint, forcing him to swallow, and with his feeble resistance, he couldn’t overpower Ann Vaughn at all.
In less than five minutes, the entire bowl of dicine went down Sawyer Jennings’ throat, not a drop wasted!
"You, you..." Sawyer Jennings’ face crumpled from the bitterness, his usually emotionless face showing so annoyance.
