Arti... artificial mbrane?!
These three words pierced into Ann Vaughn’s heart like a sharp knife, and the feeling of humiliation instantly reddened her eyes.
"Cyrus Hawthorne, do you really think so little of ?" Ann Vaughn trembled with anger, her bright eyes shimring with tears, yet she stubbornly held them back from falling, "You know nothing of my past, so what gives you the right to presumptuously judge what kind of person I am!"
The anger in her heart seed to have broken through its threshold, impossible to suppress and she didn’t want to suppress it anymore.
Cyrus Hawthorne’s dark eyes flashed with disgust, not taking her reproach to heart, and he scoffed coldly, "I’m not interested in your past, I’m here today only to warn you, don’t try to test my limits, you can’t afford to play this ga."
Hearing this, Ann Vaughn forced down the grievance and bitterness stirring inside her, as if mocking herself, "Since we both detest each other, why not divorce, it would be better for everyone."
He had long forgotten about her, to him the promise was just a childish ga, only she had foolishly taken it to heart, waited for fifteen years, longed for fifteen years.
But he taught her how to wait, how to yearn, yet never told her that people’s hearts can change easily.
Now that she proposed divorce, he should be willing, after all, it’s what he always wanted.
"Whether we divorce or not is not for you to decide first." Unexpectedly, Cyrus sneered and did not agree with her, "Even if we divorce, it can only be on my terms."
Ann Vaughn’s eyes montarily showed surprise, then she seed to understand sothing and raised a bitter smile, "Isn’t it just for Cyn..."
Just then, a sudden urgent phone ring interrupted the words Ann Vaughn had finally summoned the courage to say.
Cyrus Hawthorne paused slightly with cold eyes, took out the phone and answered, "What’s the matter?"
"Cian, your grandfather has been poisoned and just sent to the hospital for ergency treatnt, you need to go to the hospital to take charge imdiately, and most importantly, don’t let those people know about this yet." Laura Quinn’s slightly anxious voice ca from the other side.
Cyrus Hawthorne’s handso face instantly turned cold, he replied in a low voice, "I’m on my way."
Then he was about to push past Ann Vaughn, who was standing with her back against the door panel.
Ann Vaughn’s mind was filled with Laura Quinn’s words on the phone, and in a panic, she grabbed Cyrus Hawthorne’s sleeve in the dark, as if afraid he wouldn’t agree, she said firmly, "I want to go with you!"
"You better not cause any trouble for ." Cyrus Hawthorne warned coldly, not wanting to waste ti on her, he hurried out.

At the hospital, outside the ergency room, the red light was flashing.
When Ann Vaughn and Cyrus Hawthorne arrived, they saw Cynthia no longer in a wheelchair but standing outside waiting.
In a Chanel limited edition apricot long dress, holding a small pearl bag, her pretty face was gentle and weak, like a little flower swaying in the wind.
Just looking at her could easily evoke a feeling of pity.
"Cian, Grandpa is still inside undergoing ergency treatnt, I’m sure he’ll be okay. Don’t worry too much." Cynthia imdiately walked towards Cyrus Hawthorne, softly comforting him, but when she saw Ann Vaughn at the side, her gaze changed, "Why is sister here too?"
Saying this, her gaze seed to unconsciously skim over Ann Vaughn’s abdon before retracting.
Ann Vaughn was worried about Old Master Hawthorne’s safety, and montarily didn’t notice Cynthia’s peculiar expression. Hearing these obviously sarcastic words, she just pressed her lips together in silence.
Cyrus Hawthorne nodded gently at Cynthia, but before he could speak, a phone call ca in. He gestured and then walked to the window.
Ann Vaughn listened to him calmly instructing the person on the other end of the line, directing all departnts of Hawthorne Corp. to be on standby, while also ordering soone to block the hospital’s news, all in an orderly manner.
After he hung up the call, she saw his long, well-defined fingers quickly swipe through pages that seed like so kind of index. She just glanced at it and was slightly stunned.
