"Also, our marriage four years ago was just a mistake. It’s best that the mistake is corrected now. I don’t want to have any further relationship with you or the Hawthorne Family."

"Why, Ann Vaughn, do you still naively think that our marriage can end just because you say it was a mistake?" Cyrus Hawthorne’s thin lips twisted into a faint smile, tinged with coldness. "Since you were willing to get involved, don’t think you can escape now."

No matter how she denies it, the person who married him four years ago was her, not Cynthia Vaughn.

He no longer cared whether she was a substitute bride, instead, he was thankful that the substitute was her.

"Do you think you can bind ? Why don’t you try?" Ann Vaughn smiled brightly and defiantly, not the least intimidated by his threats.

...

That night, all was still.

The villa was pitch dark, with only a bit of cold moonlight streaming through the skylight, casting a small shadow that silently slipped into the master bedroom.

She had a clear purpose as she headed towards the high table where the incense was placed, but almost the next second, she was drawn into an embrace from behind by a pair of strong arms.

"Why the unnecessary move?" The man’s magnetic husky voice sounded by her ear, almost nibbling her ear while chuckling softly.

The scorching heat transmitted from her back, Ann Vaughn imdiately gave a provocative laugh, "If it wasn’t unnecessary, would you be able to manage?"

The man’s eyes, dark as night, suddenly sparked with flas, and without further ado, he lifted her in a horizontal embrace, his voice gritting with teeth.

"Then why don’t you try and see if I can manage or not!"

Just as he said, from the first half of the night to the latter half, Ann Vaughn truly ca to understand what "try" ant!

And so—

After a night of tumultuous passion, Ann Vaughn ran away.

The sunlight outside was bright and warm, but it couldn’t lt the chill filling the room.

The man, who held supre power in The Imperial Capital, with an unparalleled noble deanor, was sitting with a gloomy handso face on the disordered bed, the air around him surge violently as if to swallow people up.

His body, due to the habit of maintaining fitness, was full of strength and beauty, with visible ambiguous red scratch marks.

The visual impact was enough to make one’s nose heat up.

Especially since his hands were bound, one could imagine the pain mixed with pleasure he had endured last night.

Cyrus Hawthorne only slightly exerted and broke the ropes Ann had painstakingly tied around his hands, his wrist faintly red.

With a cold face, he peeled off the note stuck to his chest.

On it was a ssage written in lipstick as nasty as its owner, "One night costs forty-eight bucks, Mr. Hawthorne, you’re really expensive."

There was a cheekily provocative smiley face added, with a few banknotes attached beside it, exactly forty-eight bucks.

"Ann, Ann Vaughn!" As if the words were squeezed out from between his teeth, Cyrus’s thin lips broke into a low cold laugh.

He almost couldn’t wait to imdiately catch that naughty girl who had her fun and ran off and give her a good punishnt!

However, at this ti, after her mischief and escape, Ann Vaughn had already returned to her apartnt, and she was asleep.

This ti Ann Vaughn slept soundly, almost forgetting what day it was.

"Mommy, mommy." Rory’s soft little voice echoed by her ear.

Ann Vaughn squinted her eyes and pulled the Little Dumpling into her arms, hugging him closely, "Kenny, hug, mommy is exhausted."

Kenny’s soft and adorable little face instantly showed so anxiety and he bear-hugged Ann Vaughn.

"Mommy, don’t go picking herbs anymore. Kenny has grown up and can take care of you!"

His little treasury already stored lots of money, enough for mommy to spend however she wants!

If it’s not enough, he can earn more, lots and lots more, all for mommy.

"My dear son, how can mommy let you take care of ?" Ann Vaughn was sowhat awake now, hugging the fragrant little guy and sitting up, taking a deep breath, "Mommy can’t exploit children!"

Ah, hugging the Little Dumpling was so gratifying.

"Mommy, haven’t you already exploited Kenny a lot?" Kenny delivered a fatal question.

"..." Ann Vaughn felt guilty for a second or two, then couldn’t help but cough, "Mommy suddenly feels hungry, isn’t Kenny hungry too? Mommy will make sothing delicious for you!"

Having said that, Ann Vaughn quickly got up and left the room.

Kenny’s two little legs dangled at the edge of the bed, rembering the grievances his mommy suffered at the banquet, his gem-like eyes flashed a tinge of coldness.

It’s better not to let mommy know about those things, anyway, he had already quietly resolved them.

That person will never appear before his mommy again.

Mommy just needed to be happy every day.

With those thoughts, the coldness on Kenny’s face quickly faded, and with a step of his short legs, he ran out with a flurry.

The little voice could be heard from afar, "Mommy, your little baby said he wants to eat hot pot today!"

In the open kitchen, Ann Vaughn couldn’t help but touch her forehead, her dear son had quite an obsession with hot pot.

Naturally, hot pot was out of the question, so Ann Vaughn prepared sothing else, satisfying the little guy’s appetite.

After the al, Ann Vaughn received a ssage from Sutton Jennings that he had obtained the USB drive, but it was complicated to decode and required so ti.

"If your suspicion proves true, what will you do then?" Sutton asked her.

Ann Vaughn thought for a mont and then replied, "Maybe blow up his research lab."

Perhaps thinking she was joking, Sutton chuckled twice and said she was quite straightforward.

But that wasn’t a joke.

If the research lab really contained N3H5 virus data, she might just set it on fire and burn it all.

It would be best to burn that man along with it.

Ann Vaughn rubbed her still sore waist, gritting her teeth and thinking.

...

The next day.

It was near the ti for kindergarten’s dismissal.

Laughter and play sounded not far from the playground, outlining the silence sharply around a corner of the flowerbed.

The Little Dumpling sat on the edge of the flowerbed with his back to the playground, his small legs lightly swinging in the air, typing sothing on the phone in his hands.

Lord: It’s best if it is portable with a discreet appearance, but flexible in performance and has strong explosive power.

My King: Latest by next week.

Lord: (^_^) Thanks, boss!

Seeing the emoticon the Lord had added at the end, Kenny’s mouth twitched twice, "You better not use that kind of expression."

This kind of direct feeling was like a burly man preparing for a fight, but pulling out a magical girl transformation wand from the bag.

It was too much damage to the Lord’s normally strict old official image.

Lord: Why? (⊙x⊙;), Spade said it would feel more approachable this way.

My King: As long as you’re happy.

Lord: ... I got it, I’ll go and kill that idiot Spade.

After saying this, the Lord logged out from his side.

Today was yet another beautiful day to mourn for Jack of Spades.

Kenny shook his little head and closed the page, then folded the phone, which was the size of a tissue box, in his hands.

In just a few moves, the phone was folded into a palm-sized mirror, sleek and black in appearance. If not opened, no one would find out what it was.

Kenny put the palm mirror back into his backpack, then jumped off the flowerbed and was about to walk towards the playground when his gaze suddenly paused.
