"She’s alone?"

"She has a servant, Sherry, sent by Eli Sheridan of the Sheridan Family, along with the servant’s old offspring, and... Sutton Jennings from the Yann."

After finishing the last sentence, Mark Joyce clearly felt the temperature around him drop sharply, cold enough to be uncomfortable.

A crack appeared on the pen in Cyrus Hawthorne’s hand, and a hint of chill flashed across his impossibly handso face, his eyes like a cold abyss.

He recalled what Ann Vaughn said last night about fearing her fiancé would be displeased—

Smack.

The pen in his hand was snapped into two pieces just like that.

Mark Joyce was startled, but didn’t show it on his face, and imdiately took out a new pen from the office cabinet, placing it on the desk with extre care.

"Send the information to my email, you may leave now," Cyrus Hawthorne said, his thin lips slightly parted, his voice extrely icy.

"Yes." Mark Joyce responded, then exited the office.

Before closing the door, he couldn’t help but glance at the enormous floor-to-ceiling glass window behind Cyrus, offering a view overlooking most of The Imperial Capital.

He always believed that President Hawthorne ordered the move to the new office building because of this view.

It wasn’t until later, when he happened to stand there, that he realized from the window ledge you could see directly into Vaughn Clinic.

As long as you stood by the window and looked down, you could perfectly see the whole of Vaughn Clinic.

At that mont, Mark Joyce understood that the expensive telescope placed aside wasn’t for enjoying the scenery.

Subsequently, Mark Joyce fully closed the door, locking away a room full of coldness.

Behind the desk, Cyrus pushed aside the docunts at hand, his slender fingers quickly tapping on the keyboard.

The first thing called up were records of Ann Vaughn’s experiences during her two years in M Country, but none were clear, whether dical or traffic records, only a few simple lines.

Next were her experiences traveling in other countries, still very vague, apart from her dical experiences, there was very little about her personal life.

Finally, there’s no need to ntion K Country, it was a complete blank, no clues to follow.

Soone had deliberately erased so of Ann Vaughn’s records, and this person’s abilities were comparable to Cyrus Hawthorne’s, so whatever he found was only what that person allowed him to see.

Scenes from that day at the Greenleaf Bay restaurant flashed in his mind, Cyrus narrowed his almond eyes suddenly.

On that day at the restaurant where Sutton Jennings was, he clearly saw a figure that seed to be Ann Vaughn.

Looking at it now, it was not a suspicion, it indeed was Ann Vaughn.

Was she dining with Sutton Jennings in the restaurant at that ti?

With this thought, an indescribable sourness filled Cyrus’s chest, a kind of uncontrollable irritability and anger, but he had no outlet to vent it.

He lifted his hand, took down the black crystal pendant that he always carried with him, and gently rubbed it in his hand.

Finally, all the sour feelings turned into restraint and endurance.

...

Ann Vaughn drove Kenny to kindergarten and stuffed a handful of snacks into his small pocket.

"Mommy." Kenny looked at the candies in his small hand, yawning a bit, as if wanting to say more but hesitating, "Mommy, you need to be careful lately."

The man had already started investigating his mommy. If he hadn’t noticed in ti and erased all information about his mommy, leaving only so trivial details, it would have been disastrous.

But he absolutely could not tell mommy about this, to prevent her from worrying.

After saying this, Kenny got out of the car with his little backpack and walked into the kindergarten.

Ann Vaughn also noticed that Kenny seed to have sothing to say but didn’t, yet seeing that he had entered the school, she could only wait to ask him after school.

Thinking this, she drove away to head towards the studio.

The studio was on the sixteenth floor of a comrcial building, usually managed by Sherry. She only needed to show up when Sherry couldn’t make a decision.

"Annie, those two people have co a few tis, insisting on seeing you. I don’t think they are good people, you should avoid them," Sherry whispered to Ann Vaughn as she entered the studio.

Ann Vaughn looked in the direction Sherry indicated and saw a mother and daughter standing there, dressed very fashionably, but looking around with disdainful eyes.

"It’s okay, I’ll go see." Ann Vaughn nodded. Since this mother and daughter had co several tis and hadn’t given up, they wouldn’t leave easily without seeing her.

After speaking, she walked over and sat down at the consultation desk, "Do you two have any business with ?"

The mother and daughter were filled with doubt and disbelief in their eyes seeing such a young woman sitting behind the consultation desk, "Are you the fad Divine Doctor?"

"I wouldn’t call myself a Divine Doctor, just soone with so dical knowledge." Ann Vaughn smiled faintly and said.

"Mom, they all say she’s a young and pretty woman, it should be her," the woman next to the middle-aged woman gently tugged her, whispering.

"Did you co today to check on your old leg injury, or to see if your pregnancy is healthy?" Ann Vaughn asked again.

The middle-aged woman at first didn’t understand what Ann Vaughn ant, but when it dawned on her, she was astonished.

She had injured her left leg when she was young, and now it ached every night causing her to sotis lose sleep. She had seen many doctors and taken a lot of dicine, but it would recur after a while.

And her daughter-in-law was indeed over two months pregnant, although it wasn’t noticeable yet.

The middle-aged woman didn’t even think about how Ann Vaughn could pinpoint their issues at a glance and promptly sat down at the consultation desk, lowering her voice.

"Dr. Vaughn, could you do us a favor?"

"Please, go ahead."

"You can see my daughter-in-law is pregnant. Unfortunately, this child isn’t a son. Daughters aren’t worth much, it’s a waste of ti to have them, isn’t it? They say you’re a Divine Doctor; do you have any dicine that can change the baby’s gender?"

The woman’s face nearby showed how much she swallowed her pride and endurance, yet she didn’t dare oppose anything.

Not worth much? Change the baby’s gender??

This was probably the most ridiculous joke Ann Vaughn had heard this year, almost making her laugh out loud.

Why does this aunt belittle won when she herself is a woman, such blatant preference for sons over daughters without sha.

The polite smile on Ann Vaughn’s dainty face faded slightly, "Where have you heard of such a thod?"

"Isn’t it recorded in ancient books? A relative of mine read it from ancient texts, and supposedly it’s very effective. You must have this dicine, right?" The middle-aged woman spoke softly while taking out a card from her bag, "There’s a million in here; once the matter is done, I’ll give you another million as a thank you... "

"I’m sorry, ma’am." Before she could finish, Ann Vaughn impatiently interrupted, "This is a clinic, not a daydream experience center. A child’s gender is determined from conception and cannot be changed."
