Eli Sheridan smiled at the sight, reaching out to touch his head, "You child, we are destined."
Had it been anyone else, they couldn’t even think of touching his Buddha Beads.
Ann Vaughn standing nearby saw this and smiled apologetically at Eli Sheridan, "I’ll buy you a better one next ti."
"You girl, when will you stop treating like an outsider?" Eli Sheridan lightly frowned, feigning a reprimand.
"Yes, yes, yes, I’m wrong, okay?"
The two always got along well, especially having surprising consistency in their views and insights on certain matters.
If they weren’t completely unrelated by blood, Eli Sheridan might have suspected they had a psychic connection.
"My people found out those viruses originated from The Imperial Capital. Do you have any suspects?"
Hearing this news again, Ann Vaughn thought about it, then shook her head, "Can’t think of anyone at the mont..."
At that mont, a flash of white light appeared in her mind.
VIRUS.
The stack of related docunts on Cyrus Hawthorne’s desk, the one on top seed to be titled...VirusResearch.
Virus research?!!
Ann Vaughn shivered all over, subconsciously tightening her grip on the chopsticks in her hand, her red lips pressed together.
If she rembered correctly, the na of the dical institute marked on that docunt was under Hawthorne Corp.
Could it be...
"Judging by your expression, did you think of sothing?" Eli Sheridan asked Ann Vaughn with so curiosity.
Hearing his voice, Ann Vaughn pulled herself out of her thoughts, lightly frowning as she shook her head, "I can’t be sure yet."
"Though this issue is indeed troubling, overthinking is pointless, let’s just wait and see."
Ann Vaughn nodded complexly, looking at the food in front of her but losing her appetite.
Just thinking about how many innocent people died or lost loved ones because of this virus made her heart restless.
If it really was Cyrus Hawthorne’s doing...
Kenny noticed Ann Vaughn’s changed expression, lightly holding her hand with his small one, rembering what Eli Sheridan said earlier, his little brows furrowing.
Did Mommy discover sothing? Or is it...related to soone Mommy knows?
After dinner, Eli Sheridan took Ann Vaughn and Kenny to the top-floor rooftop garden to relax.
"Elliot!"
A sweet voice ca from the side behind them, carrying an inexplicable intimacy and surprise in its tone.
Ann Vaughn was staring longingly at the big cup of ice cream in Kenny’s arms. Hearing the voice, she looked up and saw a woman in a light purple off-shoulder dress walking gracefully over.
"Elliot, what a coincidence to run into you here." The woman’s eyes sparkled, her face with a hint of pink as she looked at Eli Sheridan, her coyness beyond words.
However, compared to the woman’s excitent, Eli Sheridan appeared much more indifferent, only nodding slightly at her, "Miss Morgan."
Serena Morgan felt cold at his distant address, biting her lip, her voice as delicate as if it could drip water, "I’ve told you, you can call Serena."
"That’s not proper etiquette."
"How co..." Serena Morgan was about to retort further, using kindness to argue, when she spotted Ann Vaughn from the corner of her eye and froze, "Elliot, who is this?"
Eli Sheridan cast a weightless glance at Ann Vaughn, who sohow instantly understood.
She quietly took a scoop of ice cream from Kenny, looking at Serena Morgan with bright, smiling eyes, "I’m sorry, Miss, but you’ve interrupted our family gathering."
A...family?!
"What are you saying?!" Serena Morgan almost couldn’t keep her facial expression in check, her nails digging into her palms, "Are you also part of the Sheridan Family?"
It must be that way; how could this woman possibly...
Elliot is hers, solely hers!
Ann Vaughn made an "um" sound, casually leaning on Eli Sheridan’s shoulder, "Given my relationship with Ali, I should count as part of the Sheridan Family, right?"
"Naturally." Eli Sheridan raised an eyebrow, unexpectedly finding this girl’s acting so good, cooperating by gently ruffling her hair.
Their unabashedly intimate display imdiately reddened Serena Morgan’s eyes with jealousy; she wanted to rush over and scratch the face of the despicable woman in front of her!
But Eli Sheridan disliked won who were impolite and crass!
Serena Morgan’s shoulders trembled from holding back, tears hanging in her eyes as she pitifully looked at Eli Sheridan, "Elliot, tell , this isn’t true, is it?"
"Serena, what’s going on?" At this mont, a man in a suit walked up to Serena’s side. As he was about to greet Eli Sheridan, his gaze accidentally lingered on Ann Vaughn for several seconds.
Her small face, bare of makeup, was so fair and tender as if it were glowing.
Her brows swept lightly like distant mountains, her eyes like brilliant stars, her red lips slightly lifting in a smile with an indescribable allure.
Like a noble, lazy Persian cat.
The man’s heart couldn’t help but heat up, his eyes almost glued to her until Serena Morgan pushed him discontentedly, waking him up.
"Young Master Sheridan, what an honor it is to et you here in The Imperial Capital, of all places. May I ask who this lady beside you is?"
The man was Serena Morgan’s brother, Cillian Morgan. His life was devoted to beauty, having ruined countless lovely girls.
Cillian Morgan secretly pondered when the Sheridan Family had such a beautiful daughter, even more stunning than Jane Sheridan.
Resembling Eli Sheridan so closely, their blood relation must be quite close...
"What, are you quite interested in my person?"
Eli Sheridan placed a hand on Ann Vaughn’s other shoulder, declaring everything, and looked at Cillian Morgan with a warning in his eyes.
A man understands another man’s intentions best, and Eli Sheridan saw through Cillian Morgan’s sinister plan instantly.
Though Ann Vaughn’s past wasn’t so illustrious, in Eli Sheridan’s eyes, this sister deserved the best.
Even little bystander Kenny stood in front of Ann Vaughn in a protective stance, glaring at Cillian Morgan.
What does Eli Sheridan’s "my person" an?!
Could it be that this woman is Eli Sheridan’s, and...they even have a child!!
Cillian Morgan was shocked, glancing at Serena Morgan, only to see her staring at Ann Vaughn with full of jealousy.
Could he have misjudged?!
"No, no, how could I dare have such thoughts? I just rembered sothing urgent, so I’ll take Serena and leave." With that, Cillian Morgan didn’t care about Serena’s reluctance, dragging her away.
"Brother! If you’re not going to help , at least don’t drag away! I finally had a chance to talk to Elliot!" Serena Morgan said angrily, trying to turn back around.
Cillian Morgan grabbed her, "If you want Eli Sheridan to hate you, go ahead! Do you think that slight favor you did for him will make him marry you?"
