As soon as Ann Vaughn returned to her room, she received a voice ssage from Sawyer Jennings. When she opened it, she heard the little guy’s haughty but slightly aggrieved voice.

"It’s been nine days, fourteen hours, and thirty minutes. Why haven’t you co to see yet? Do you have another dog out there?"

Ann Vaughn couldn’t help but laugh at that, the gloom over her heart lightened a bit. She sent him a voice ssage back, telling him that she would visit when she had ti.

After exiting the chat interface, she rembered the news that had resurfaced last ti. She paused and opened Weibo to take a look.

She initially thought that the popularity of the Chinese dicine program would have completely died down by now, and that she would be forgotten by many.

But to Ann Vaughn’s surprise, tens of thousands of comnts on the program’s Weibo were asking when the program would continue filming, waiting for her return.

It was evident that the show wasn’t a one-hit wonder; it had truly been rembered by people.

Thinking about this, Ann Vaughn felt she should be happy, yet for so reason, a thick layer of disappointnt lood in her heart.

As she was now, she was no different than a bird in a cage.

Her previous life had beco a re luxury.

Just about ten thirty at night, Ann Vaughn estimated the ti and left the servant’s room.

She intended to make herbal dicine at this ti, but unexpectedly ran into Cynthia Vaughn coming down the stairs.

"Sister, I didn’t expect to see you here." Cynthia Vaughn was first surprised, then put on a gentle smile, "I didn’t see you at the dinner table tonight. Is it because you didn’t want to see ?"

Ann Vaughn slightly furrowed her delicate brows and continued walking downstairs, "Since you know that, don’t flaunt yourself in front of ."

"I only took a little blood from you, and you’re this angry? If you know that the charity spokesperson for Hawthorne Corp. has been replaced by , wouldn’t you be furious?" Cynthia’s smile widened.

Hearing this, Ann Vaughn’s steps stopped, and a touch of shock flickered in her lowered eyes, mixed with bitterness in her heart.

Cyrus Hawthorne had canceled her TV show and replaced her endorsent just to pave the way for Cynthia?!

No wonder, no wonder indeed.

Just as Ann Vaughn was dazed, Cynthia suddenly acted up, grabbing Ann Vaughn’s hair with one hand, her gentle voice low and ruthless.

"If you know what’s good for you, you better voluntarily propose a divorce and pack up and leave Cian. Otherwise, next ti it won’t just be your reputation that’s ruined!"

"It’s such a pity that I didn’t let those people kill you and your bastard that night!"

A sharp pain pierced her scalp, and Ann Vaughn furrowed her delicate brows in agony, looking at Cynthia, her bright eyes blazing with anger.

"You’ve admitted it at last? So it was you who set up that night. You weren’t injured at all and didn’t need a blood transfusion. It was all just a trap you set to deal with !"

From the mont she first saw Cynthia, Ann Vaughn had almost concluded that apart from her heart, she was perfectly fine.

There were no so-called severe injuries that required a blood transfusion!

The thick layer of foundation on her face might fool others, but it couldn’t fool her eyes.

But Ann Vaughn didn’t expect Cynthia to know about her pregnancy.

This way, everything had a trace to follow. Cynthia’s target wasn’t just her but also the child in her belly!

"So what?" Cynthia was not afraid at all, raising her eyebrows proudly.

Ann Vaughn was so angry that the corners of her eyes reddened, and she couldn’t hold back anymore. She raised her hand and grabbed Cynthia’s hand, a clever move that made her release her grip on her hair.

"Smack!"

With a reverse slap, she struck Cynthia’s face, and with leftover force, she shoved her to the ground.

"Ah—" Cynthia fell to the ground, the burning pain on her right cheek almost driving her to lose her mind, glaring fiercely at Ann Vaughn, "You dare to hit ?!"

"Cynthia!"

Before Ann Vaughn could respond, a low, cold voice echoed from the stairs above. She looked up and saw Cyrus Hawthorne descending with an aura of cold sternness.

The ruthless intimidation emitted from his dark, cold eyes was chilling.

He walked directly to Cynthia, helped her up, his pale thin lips tightly pressed into a line.

Anyone familiar with him who saw this scene would know that he was angry.

"Sister, if I’ve done anything wrong, tell , and I’ll definitely change. You don’t..." Cynthia’s beautiful eyes filled with tears instantly, crying pitifully in Cyrus Hawthorne’s arms.

Ann Vaughn watched Cynthia with an increasingly cold expression, her voice chilling, "Cynthia, don’t think everyone is a fool to toy with. This ti it was just a slap, but if you dare sche against next ti, be careful I scratch your face up!"

"Ann Vaughn!" Cyrus Hawthorne turned his head and scolded coldly, his gaze locking onto Ann Vaughn with bone-chilling coldness.

Ann Vaughn’s heart trembled slightly, but she still lifted her delicate chin, refusing to admit defeat, "I an what I say! Cynthia, you think the whole world has to revolve around you, don’t you? And if I don’t get a divorce for a day, you’ll have to be the third wheel for another day!"

With that, she turned to leave.

Cyrus’s brows furrowed tighter, his narrow eyes fixing on Ann Vaughn’s back with a sudden surge of hostility, "Did I give you permission to leave?"

Ann Vaughn paused, her hand on the banister tightening slightly, her gaze eting his, "Then what do you want?"

"Dragon." Cyrus Hawthorne called softly, his voice as cold as ice, his gaze at Ann Vaughn as indifferent as looking at an insignificant thing, "Lock her in the confinent room. Without my permission, no one is to let her out."

The confinent room?!

Ann Vaughn’s eyes widened suddenly, the color draining completely from her face.

Although she didn’t know what kind of place it was, just the na filled her with dread.

"Yes, sir." A shadow appeared silently behind Ann Vaughn, their voice hoarse and respectful.

Feeling the figure suddenly appear behind her like a ghost, a layer of cold sweat instantly spread over Ann Vaughn’s back, and before she could resist, the man nad "Dragon" forcibly took her away.

Cynthia, who was angry enough with Ann Vaughn’s words to grit her teeth, felt a sense of satisfaction. Her beautiful eyes revealed a gleeful light in the place where Cyrus couldn’t see.

Ann Vaughn might not know, but she had heard from Laura Quinn.

This estate wasn’t newly built; it had been here since the Republican era. Although it had been renovated, showing no trace of its old appearance.

But that confinent room was once a real place used for imprisoning and interrogating prisoners.

Even so, Cynthia still felt that it was too lenient on Ann Vaughn. Without making her suffer inside, how could it compensate for the slap she received?!

She had long suspected that this bitch had no good intentions, not wanting to divorce Cyrus, yet dared to call her a howrecker?!

Clearly, the one who interfered with her and Cyrus was Ann Vaughn!

Cynthia’s eyes rolled, and suddenly she sobbed, then fainted into Cyrus Hawthorne’s arms.

"Cynthia, Cynthia?" Cyrus’s expression slightly tightened, casting aside any thoughts of Ann Vaughn being taken to the confinent room, and he carried Cynthia away quickly.
