"Bang—"

Suddenly, there was a loud noise from the doorway.

Seth Lynn stopped his movents and looked toward the door, only to see the front door of the apartnt fall straight down, revealing the slender figure standing outside.

The woman was dressed in a black dress, her skin snow-white, hair like ink, eyes bright, lips red, with no superfluous adornnts, yet she was breathtakingly beautiful.

The wall of people standing behind her was even more noticeable—seven burly guards in black, each standing with their arms crossed over their chests behind her like knights defending a princess, immovable.

After seeing the situation inside the house, Ann Vaughn’s eyes flared up with a fiery blaze. She pointed toward Seth Lynn: "Arrest him for !"

"Yes!"

The hidden guards moved in unison and were in front of Seth Lynn in an instant, not giving him a chance to turn and run, pressing him down to kneel on the ground.

"Who are you guys? Let go! Let go of !" Seth Lynn struggled to get up, but his strength was like that of an ant, no match for these hidden guards.

Ann Vaughn took a blanket from the sofa and draped it over Susie Somrs, seeing her eyes tightly shut and her face full of despair, a dull ache rose in her heart.

"Susie, it’s , don’t be afraid, I’m here, I won’t let anyone bully you again." Ann Vaughn patted Susie Somrs’ back and comforted her warmly, and when her cheek brushed past Susie’s neck, she realized how high her temperature was.

Susie Somrs opened her eyes, expecting to see Seth Lynn’s hideous face, but was surprised to see Ann Vaughn instead.

She was just about to speak, but what ca out of her mouth was an unusual moaning sound.

The anger in Ann Vaughn’s heart flared up even more, while Seth Lynn, seeing this, twisted his face into a smug smile.

"I gave her a foreign-made aphrodisiac with no antidote. The only way to neutralize it is to be intimate with a man, otherwise, she’s on a path to death... Ah!"

Before Seth Lynn could finish speaking, he was hit on the forehead with a glass fruit plate, and blood splattered imdiately.

"A path to death?" Ann Vaughn’s eyes were cold as ice, her whole deanor burning like black flas, her aura intimidating, "The one on a path to death is you!"

With that, Ann Vaughn took a pill from her multi-faceted bag and fed it into Susie Somrs’ mouth, "This is an antidote, quickly swallow it."

No matter what kind of dicine it was, as long as Ann was the one feeding it, Susie would swallow it.

As soon as the antidote flowed down her throat, Susie’s feverish and restless body felt as if it were soaking in a cool spring, gradually calming down.

Ann Vaughn checked her pulse, and her cold expression relaxed instantly.

"Fortunately, you haven’t been drugged for long, it hasn’t fully been absorbed by your system, there’ll be no harm to the baby. You’ve got fetal movent, I’ll support you into the room to perform acupuncture, can you walk?"

Susie weakly shook her head, one hand holding her abdon, cold sweat beading on her forehead.

Ann Vaughn used her slender arms to lift Susie up, then walked into the room.

Before entering the room, Ann Vaughn paused, looking at Seth Lynn clutching his bleeding forehead and glaring hatefully at her, she curled her lips into a smile.

"There are so many high-quality devices here that shouldn’t go to waste. Search him to see if there’s more of that aphrodisiac on him."

The hidden guards holding down Seth Lynn imdiately searched his pockets and found a bottle.

"What are you going to do?!" Seth Lynn’s scalp went numb, his pupils dilating to the extre.

Ann Vaughn ignored him and said to the hidden guards, "Feed him the drug, then find a poodle."

Isn’t he fond of being in heat all the ti?

Doesn’t he like to force won?

Let’s see how tough he really is, daring to ss with my people!

"Yes, Miss."

Seth Lynn was struck by lightning, unable to free himself from the hidden guards’ hold, and the last sliver of hope in his heart was slowly drowned by despair.

However, he didn’t feel the least bit wronged.

He was rely repeating the suffering and despair Susie had just gone through.

...

Later, what unbearable situation Seth Lynn had to endure, the hidden guards would naturally not report back to Ann Vaughn to avoid sullying her ears.

However, the caras in the living room diligently recorded everything and sent it to Seth Lynn’s friends, colleagues, and superiors, each getting a copy, without exception.

It goes without saying, Seth Lynn would never hold his head up high in public again.

Everything he had planned for Susie was returned to him in full, truly karma at its finest.

And although Susie had suffered quite a fright, she couldn’t help but feel a sense of satisfaction with Ann Vaughn’s actions.

"Had I known I was getting involved with sothing like him sooner, I should’ve stuffed his love letters back into his mouth before our relationship even started, allowing him to reinvent himself." Susie lay back on the bed, grumbling with dissatisfaction, "Why do I keep running into jerks? Am I sohow jerk-attracting?"

Ann Vaughn sat beside her drying her hair, chuckling, "It’s not your problem; it’s just that those jerks don’t know how to appreciate."

"By the way, how did you find out I was kidnapped by Seth Lynn?"

"You locked yourself up at ho, I was worried about your safety, so I hired a detective to keep watch downstairs from your house," Ann Vaughn said, "He told you were heading to Lyncroft for a trip, so I looked into what fun attractions were there."

But she found out that Lyncroft was recently flooded and the flight routes had been closed since this morning.

That’s when Ann Vaughn sensed sothing was wrong. She was originally going to Vaughn Clinic, but imdiately turned around for Bamboo Creek Villa.

Susie was overwheld with gratitude, "The day I was discharged, I slept the whole day at ho and my phone was off, that’s why I didn’t reply to you. And the day you ca to my house and rang the bell, I had already been kidnapped by Seth Lynn."

Fortunately, that lunatic Seth Lynn was waiting for a cara to arrive, otherwise, by the ti Ann Vaughn ca looking for her, Susie might have already faced worse.

"No wonder the tone of that text ssage didn’t sound like you," Ann Vaughn mused, and it was indeed because the tone of that ssage was off that she thought to hire a private detective.

Destiny was indeed at play.

Susie made a heart-holding gesture, "Girl, you were so cool today, you almost stole my heart!"

"You’re a good person, but unfortunately my heart already belongs to soone else, so I can’t respond to you. If you don’t mind, we could be friends." Ann Vaughn joked.

"Oh~~" Susie prolonged her voice, teasingly, "The one your heart belongs to is President Hawthorne, right? I’ve been here all this ti but I haven’t seen him."

Speaking of this, Ann Vaughn felt peeved.

"He’s been avoiding these past two days."

"Avoiding you?" This sounded very fresh to Susie’s ears, "Why would he avoid you?"

If it were Ann Vaughn avoiding Cyrus Hawthorne, Susie might believe it, but to say Cyrus was avoiding Ann Vaughn... she had a feeling Ann Vaughn might be a bit dangerous.

Ann Vaughn collapsed onto the bed, whining, "I accidentally made a mistake, and he’s sulking with ."
