Chapter 1140: I’ll Only Keep You Company!
At the ntion of the child, Lu Jinnan was choked up and couldn’t speak…
He lowered his gaze, and after calming down his emotions, he held Bai Xiaonian by the back of her head and leaned his forehead against hers. “It’s the stupidest thing I did in this lifeti, the darnedest mistake I’ve made! I hope… Xiaonian, you can give a chance, a chance to redeem myself, okay?”
Bai Xiaonian had always been calm. She calmly stayed in Lu Jinnan’s embrace and calmly listened as Lu Jinnan choked and cried, not even blinking once…
“In the future, I won’t get mad at you, and I won’t want any darned pride in front of you…” Lu Jinnan held Bai Xiaonian extrely tightly.
“Send ho!” Bai Xiaonian sounded cold.
Having hugged Bai Xiaonian for a long ti, Lu Jinnan nodded. “Let’s go ho!”
The “ho” Lu Jinnan was referring to clearly wasn’t the sa “ho” Bai Xiaonian referred to.
When Lu Jinnan parked the car before a villa, Bai Xiaonian turned sideways and looked at Lu Jinnan, who was turning off the engine. “What’s the aning of this?”
“This is our ho!” Lu Jinnan pushed open the car door.
The child’s matter was the greatest hurt in Lu Jinnan’s heart. From today on, he would make it up to Bai Xiaonian to the greatest of his abilities.
Bai Xiaonian hadn’t made sense of what was going on when Lu Jinnan already got out of the car. He pulled open the front passenger door and bent over to help Bai Xiaonian unbuckle her seatbelt, then, without waiting for her to protest, he lifted her horizontally.
“Lu Jinnan!” Bai Xiaonian stared at Lu Jinnan, a warning tone in her chilly voice.
Lu Jinnan said as he carried Bai Xiaonian into the house, “I bought this villa back when I was planning to marry you. It was renovated according to the style you like, and I wanted to give you a surprise.”
Even if Lu Jinnan was angry and unwilling back then, he was looking forward to a life with Bai Xiaonian. Hence, even though Bai Xiaonian wasn’t in the country, Lu Jinnan still renovated this place according to plan, thinking Bai Xiaonian could move in when she returned.
With Bai Xiaonian in his arms, Lu Jinnan scanned his fingerprint and pushed the door open with his leg…
The sensor-controlled lights in the house lit up. The house was renovated in a simple and warm style, indeed sothing Bai Xiaonian would like.
Lu Jinnan carried Bai Xiaonian to the sofa and gently let her down. He seed to be mumbling to himself as he said, “I’ll call Dad, lest he worries about you…”
Since Lu Jinnan and Bai Xiaonian got married, Lu Jinnan had started addressing Bai Xiaonian’s father as “Dad”, and he did so readily.
He removed his suit jacket and placed it on the back of the sofa, then dialed Bai Xiaonian’s father’s house number.
“Dad, it’s Jinnan. Xiaonian and I have co ho. I’m calling to inform you lest you worry…” Lu Jinnan’s attitude was excellent. He went to the kitchen to boil water. “Right, we’re not going back tonight! Dad, don’t worry, I’ll take good care of Xiaonian! Mm… okay, Dad, do rest early!”
Bai Xiaonian listened as Lu Jinnan talked to her father over the phone. She picked up her bag and walked towards the door, but even though her hand was on the door handle, she couldn’t open the door.
In the kitchen, Lu Jinnan called Fu Huai’an, aning to resign, as he planned on staying at ho to focus on keeping Bai Xiaonian company.
Bai Xiaonian frowned. She turned around and saw that Lu Jinnan had hung up the phone and left the kitchen. He slipped the phone into his pocket and said softly to Bai Xiaonian, “The locks were developed by one of Tang Zheng’s companies. You can only enter and exit with fingerprints. I haven’t had the ti to key in your fingerprint. I’ll get Tang Zheng to send soone here tomorrow to help you key yours in!”
He spoke in a low voice at the kitchen door, seeming not to have noticed that Bai Xiaonian was trying to leave.
Lu Jinnan had spoken to Fu Huai’an about quitting his job and keeping Bai Xiaonian company at ho. The shares he held were sufficient for Lu Jinnan to live on with Bai Xiaonian.
But Fu Huai’an didn’t consent. He said that he’d let Lu Jinnan go on vacation for an indefinite period of ti. The position of Kaide Corporation’s president would still be reserved for Lu Jinnan.
Hearing Bai Xiaonian about to leave, Lu Jinnan didn’t speak in detail with Fu Huai’an. He agreed for now. Indeed, when he ca out, he saw Bai Xiaonian leaving.
Bai Xiaonian pointed at the lock on the door. “Open the door…”
“Don’t you want to take a look? Our ho…” Lu Jinnan walked to Bai Xiaonian, his broad shoulders blocking most of the light and enveloping Bai Xiaonian.
Bai Xiaonian frowned. “Lu Jinnan, what’s the aning of you doing this? We can’t go back to the way we were…”
“Xiaonian, let’s not talk out of spite. From today on, watch my performance, okay?” Lu Jinnan grabbed Bai Xiaonian’s shoulders and pulled her into his arms. “From today on, I’ll tell you everything I’m feeling. Be it happy or unhappy, I’ll tell you all about it!”
Bai Xiaonian said nothing. Lu Jinnan grabbed her petite hand, placed it over his heart, and said softly, “Such as now, my heart hurts a lot… a lot a lot! Only with you by my side will the pain in my heart… ease a little!”
“Xiaonian, I’ve never been good at expressing how I feel, but for your sake, I’m willing to learn how to express myself, to speak more and do more!”
Lu Jinnan spoke a lot today, all from his heart. Basically, he said whatever ca to mind. His goal… was none other than to keep Bai Xiaonian by his side.
Just then, Lu Jinnan’s phone vibrated in his pocket…
With her hand on Lu Jinnan’s chest, Bai Xiaonian said, “Your phone!”
Lu Jinnan frowned. He took it out and glanced at it. It was Hong Jinyun’s mother.
Bai Xiaonian’s vision swept over briefly, a hint of a smile on her lips. She looked up at Lu Jinnan. “Aren’t you picking it up? What if sothing happened to Hong Jinyun again?”
Standing before Bai Xiaonian, Lu Jinnan’s throat vibrated. He hung up the phone and dialed his assistant’s number, putting it on speaker mode. “Hello…”
“President Lu!”
“Contact Hong Jinyun’s mother. If she needs any help, you can make the decision. Tell Hong Jinyun’s mother to contact you directly from today on if she needs anything, no need to call . Tell her… that all the help I’m giving Hong Jinyun is because I feel I owe it to Hong Jinyun. If Hong Jinyun doesn’t accept it, it ans she doesn’t need it. In which case, they shouldn’t even contact you in the future.”
When Lu Jinnan’s assistant heard this, he said imdiately, “Don’t worry, President Lu, I’ll surely handle this matter well!”
After ending the call, Lu Jinnan turned off his phone and slipped it into Bai Xiaonian’s bag. He then took out Bai Xiaonian’s phone and turned it off before slipping it into his own pocket. He said, “From now on… I’ll only keep you company! And not let anyone interrupt us.”
Bai Xiaonian gazed at Lu Jinnan, not uttering a sound, her clean and pretty eyes unfazed.
“You haven’t had dinner. The fridge is empty, so I’ll get soone to deliver so food. What do you want to eat?” Lu Jinnan held Bai Xiaonian’s shoulder as he walked her towards the sofa and made her sit down.
