Mr. Fairchild's Rose: She is Wild and Proud Chapter 42: It Must Be a Lane Family Daughter!
"Hmm."
In the grand and elegant room, an elderly man stood with his hands behind his back, hair silver at the temples, his deanor exuding authority, clearly soone who had been in a position of power for a long ti.
A butler respectfully held the phone to his ear.
Hearing Julian Fairchild’s indifferent tone over the phone, Old Master Fairchild restrained his temper and spoke words that only he and Julian could understand, "Have you made up your mind?"
Julian Fairchild exuded an increasingly cold aura, "I won’t marry a woman I’ve never t."
"Even if it ans giving up your position as heir?" Old Master Fairchild struck the ground hard with his cane.
"Mm." Julian replied coldly, "Since you like the daughter of the Lane Family so much, why don’t you marry her yourself."
"Insolent!"
Even facing the formidable head of the Fairchild Family, Julian showed no fear.
"Master, please calm down, give the young master a little more ti, he’s still young now, he’ll understand your good intentions in the future." Butler Morton spoke up for Julian Fairchild, "Besides, that eldest daughter of the Lane Family is indeed lacking in character..."
Old Master Fairchild’s brow furrowed tightly, clearly recalling the events Butler Morton had witnessed at the Lane Family.
He had always regarded the Lane Family’s eldest daughter as his future granddaughter-in-law, openly and secretly having people protect her, from a young age to adulthood, only to find out she had done such shaless things, it simply blinded him.
Nonetheless, the marriage couldn’t just be called off!
Julian Fairchild’s wife could only be a daughter of the Lane Family!
After deliberation, Old Master Fairchild issued a command over the phone, "If the eldest daughter of the Lane Family can’t be married, then you’re engaged to the younger daughter of the Lane Family!"
Julian sneered, "Impossible."
"It’s not up to you to decide, Julian. Rejecting again and again, could it be that you already have soone you like?"
He spoke clearly and decisively, "No."
"There better not be, but if there is..." Old Master Fairchild elongated his words, a quick glint of malice in his eyes, "Don’t bla for not warning you, if so shaless daughter thinks she can cling to you, I will make her family pay a price they cannot bear!"
Julian squinted his eyes, Maeve Lane’s cold and captivating face suddenly appeared in his mind.
Suppressing his complex emotions, he said, "No, and I won’t marry anyone you arrange for ."
After speaking, the handso and stern man hung up the phone.
At the age of twenty, he was told he was to be engaged to the eldest daughter of the Lane Family in Aurelia, ironically, Julian Fairchild had grown up abroad due to various reasons, thinking his mother called him back solely for the convenience of managing business matters.
The Fairchild Family’s empire was vast, headquartered in Aurelia, a city where every inch of land was worth gold, and as the sole legitimate heir, studying abroad was indeed inconvenient.
Unexpectedly, after returning and completing the handover of all matters, he was inford of the engagent to the Lane Family’s eldest daughter.
How laughable, Julian scoffed internally, a woman whose na he had never even heard, yet he was expected to complete a ridiculous marriage because of his grandfather’s words.
If it weren’t for his mother threatening suicide, he wouldn’t have been so passive.
Because of this, during his years at Aurelia University, Julian had never spent a penny of the Fairchild Family’s money.
...
While eating, Maeve Lane noticed that Julian Fairchild’s mood had turned for the worse after he had gone out for a while.
She placed a piece of at in his bowl, "What’s wrong, did you get scamd out of money just now?"
