"Keane..." Rosalyn Jennings seed taken aback when she heard the question.

Maeve Lane stayed silent, observing her reaction carefully.

She had heard Rosalyn call soone by that na several tis, but Maeve assud it to be a fignt of her imagination, like the nas she used to give her various dolls.

After learning from Julian Fairchild that Rosalyn Jennings had contact with Keane’s adoptive father, Maeve was almost certain.

Her mother definitely knew Keane.

"Who is Keane?" Rosalyn asked calmly, as if detached from reality.

Maeve questioned, "You don’t rember?"

The woman on the sofa tilted her head, seemingly deep in thought. "I can’t rember. Is he your new friend?"

Felix Forrest noticed this and furrowed his brows slightly.

Maeve was completely unprepared for Rosalyn Jennings’s reaction and turned her gaze to Felix Forrest.

After responding, Rosalyn quietly hugged two dolls, occasionally patting their heads.

"Mom’s reaction..." Maeve glanced at Felix Forrest.

Felix seed to hesitate, his expression unusual. "You can bring him in."

Nobody noticed that upon hearing this, Rosalyn’s fingers trembled slightly.

Keane walked in with a joyful step, heading straight for Maeve. "Maeve~"

Maeve reached out to catch him and lifted him up. Though slightly embarrassed, Keane obediently let her hold him.

Felix Forrest kept his unwavering gaze on Rosalyn Jennings’s face.

He didn’t miss her montary shock.

Rosalyn slowly approached upon seeing Keane and asked in a near-trembling voice, "What did you just call her? Mommy?"

Keane looked at her, his little brows knit, as if pondering sothing.

Maeve explained, "He calls Maeve."

"Maeve... it’s Maeve indeed." Rosalyn seed in a state of extre shock, staring intently at Keane.

"Keane, Maeve..."

She muttered softly, her consciousness seemingly drifting away, suddenly clutching her head, "Is it Maeve... or Zoe."

Seeing that things were going awry, Felix Forrest said seriously, "You should leave for now. Ms. Jennings seems to be emotionally unstable."

Upon hearing this, Keane unexpectedly broke free from Maeve’s hold and rushed toward Rosalyn.

Maeve, afraid of Keane being scared, followed imdiately.

Although she could face Rosalyn calmly, not everyone had the capacity to handle interacting with soone suffering from ntal illness.

Especially a child.

However, Keane was very well-behaved, as if his earlier action was a passing whim. Like any child intrigued by sothing interesting, it was pure curiosity.

"Keane, let’s go." Maeve picked him up again, her eyes gently curved.

But Keane, resting his head on her shoulder, still had his eyes fixed on Rosalyn.

At the mont they left the room, Rosalyn, as if sensing sothing, looked up, eting Keane’s complex gaze.

...

After stepping outside, Rosalyn’s strange behavior replayed in Maeve’s mind repeatedly.

It couldn’t just be called strange anymore.

It was more like abnormal.

Looking at Keane’s face, Maeve finally made up her mind, "Keane, how about we take a trip to the hospital?"

Keane’s body stiffened.

Despite the notion seeming absurd, Maeve felt a strong premonition.

If she didn’t take Keane for a paternity test, she might regret it for a lifeti.

"Why do we need to go to the hospital?" Keane’s voice was innocent, "Maeve, are you not feeling well?"

"No, we’re just going for a check-up. You and together, okay?" Subconsciously, Maeve didn’t know how to confront the final results.

Because if it were as she suspected, it would be a dramatic shock for her, Keane, and Julian.

During the dical check-up, she’d have the doctor determine if she and Keane were related by blood.

Maeve expected Keane to agree as readily as he usually did.

But Keane shook his head with a smile, "But Maeve, did you forget? I have a martial arts class today."

Maeve lightly frowned, almost forgetting. Keane’s martial arts instructor was her teacher’s apprentice. She always believed that both boys and girls should know so self-defense.

Even though she didn’t want to put extra academic pressure on Keane, she still signed him up for the class.

But today was a special circumstance. Maeve wanted to inquire further, but Keane clutched her leg, acting coyly, "Maeve, let’s go another day. I’m really healthy, and if I’m late, my teacher will punish ."
