She also recognized her at a glance; indeed, the photos didn’t do her justice.

But Maeve Lane’s beauty carried a conquering aggressiveness.

She told the driver to stop for a while, wanting to see how her future daughter-in-law would respond.

In her imagination, Maeve should avoid suspicion and keep her distance from those delinquent-looking students!

However, Maeve donned an even more roguish smile than theirs, audaciously tossing her backpack hanging loose in her right hand to them.

Those few people scrambled to catch it eagerly; she raised her eyebrows, nonchalantly clapped her hands, and walked proudly through the school gates, clearly not her first ti doing so.

And those few rowdy students actually followed behind Maeve, calling her boss.

It was like they were vying for favor!

Mrs. Fairchild was quite furious at that mont. Just thinking of her perfect son Julian having to marry such a roguish girl made her blood pressure rise!

In Mrs. Fairchild’s eyes, Maeve was utterly useless except for her looks! After that incident, her dislike for Maeve reached its peak.

Fortunately, there was still Sylvia Lane, so it didn’t completely go against Old Master Fairchild and the family elders’ wish that the young master must marry a Lane family woman.

Now, Julian’s apparent interest in Maeve, in her opinion, should be nipped in the bud!

"Arrange a eting for ; I want to et with Maeve Lane!"

"Yes, ma’am."

...

After finishing dinner, just as Maeve was preparing to head back to the hotel, she received a call from an unknown number.

She answered without speaking first.

"...May I ask, is this Maeve Lane?" A sowhat weathered male voice asked.

"Yes."

"Our madam would like to have a word with you."

Maeve raised her gaze, "And who is your madam?"

"Our madam’s surna is Lin, given na Fanye, the biological mother of second young master Julian Fairchild."

Maeve was stunned, a complex light flickering in her eyes, "When?"

"Right now."

...

Even though it was just an informal talk, Maeve still ended up landing at Aurelia’s fad Aeriel Gardens Hotel in a helicopter.

As she got off the helicopter, Mrs. Fairchild was happily chatting and laughing with so won who looked like affluent ladies.

She showed no intention of acknowledging her presence.

Butler Forrest gestured towards Mrs. Fairchild with his hand: "The lady with the red shawl is the madam, you can call her Mrs. Fairchild."

Maeve recognized her; her mory was fairly good, and besides, Mrs. Fairchild was well-maintained, showing no traces left by ti.

She gave Mrs. Fairchild a nonchalant glance, not in any hurry.

Unbelievably calmly, she found herself a seat, then pulled out... the script for tomorrow.

Butler Forrest gave Maeve a peculiar look. Usually, the young heiresses who t Mrs. Fairchild couldn’t wait to attach themselves to her. Even Sylvia Lane was like that, practically calling her ’mom’ on the spot. Yet Maeve seed so composed.

It was as if the person in front of her was just another ordinary woman!

But this was Mrs. Fairchild! Soone countless socialites wanted to please, hoping she would take a liking to them so their family’s business could thrive through the Fairchild family.

Mrs. Fairchild deliberately wanted to intimidate Maeve, but didn’t expect Maeve to be so serene, the focused look wasn’t a facade!

She felt it wasn’t Maeve being ignored by herself now but rather her being ignored by Maeve!

Mrs. Fairchild’s expression turned unpleasant, "Everyone leave, I’m not in the mood for chatting today."

The few affluent ladies exchanged glances, unsure of what had happened, but they didn’t dare displease Mrs. Fairchild, so they quickly left together.

The spacious garden quickly turned silent.

Only Maeve’s soft reading voice could be heard.

Butler Forrest coughed to remind, "Miss Maeve, our madam is still waiting for you."

Maeve’s lips were tinged with a red hue, she lightly tugged, "I thought Mrs. Fairchild had over just to listen to you all chat."

Her words were truly blunt.

Butler Forrest silently sweated, having anticipated the madam’s imminent outburst.

Sure enough, in the next second, Mrs. Fairchild stood up, her eyes narrowing, "Are you provoking ?!"

Maeve arched an eyebrow, "If I were provoking you, I wouldn’t have co tonight."

"You!"

She was speaking the truth, Mrs. Fairchild had called her over and ignored her for half an hour, wasn’t that an attempt to intimidate her? Though Maeve didn’t know the purpose behind being summoned.

Still, it certainly wasn’t anything good.

Just because she’s an elder, she could neglect her arrogantly without any reason? If it weren’t for being Julian Fairchild’s mother, given Maeve’s temperant, she would probably have already left, but not before setting the record straight for herself.
