Mr. Fairchild's Rose: She is Wild and Proud Chapter 188 - 173: She Belongs to Him
Maeve Lane wanted to pretend she hadn’t heard, but her skin was maddeningly sensitive, turning pink. "No."
"You’re trying to deny it?" Julian Fairchild turned her body towards him.
"I was drunk."
Maeve got out of bed, making an excuse at random, trying to escape the room.
But how could Julian allow her to leave? He pulled her into his arms, his large hand slipping into her hair, "You think you can just leave after sleeping with ?"
Maeve’s face was almost steaming. The recording she had just heard practically made her want to die of embarrassnt and sha, so she avoided looking at him, "We’re not suitable."
Julian lowered his head and kissed the corner of her mouth, murmuring tenderly, "Not suitable? I think we were quite ’suitable’ yesterday."
After all, she was an adult. It wasn’t that she hadn’t watched those kinds of movies or talked about n with redith, so she quickly caught what Julian ant. Yet, Maeve was still very shy about the whole affair, being new to such experiences.
She chose not to speak, but locked in the man’s embrace, she could only look at him with her big, watery eyes.
The usually ferocious look was gone, and in his arms, Maeve seed like a little fox who had been bullied terribly.
The little fox spoke, "Do you think I took advantage of you last night?"
Julian couldn’t comprehend her thought process, so he chose to stay silent.
The little fox bit her lip as if she’d made so decision, "Last night, I couldn’t resist the temptation. If you feel short-changed, I can pay you back once."
Julian raised his eyebrow, his breathing gradually becoming heated.
Maeve thought this was a good plan, looking at him, "How about it?"
Julian resisted the allure, "Not good. You said you’d be with , so you can’t go back on your word."
Maeve nearly said, "What if I do go back on my word?"
But she saw Julian’s forlorn gaze, as if she were so heinous heartbreaker.
She opened her mouth, mumbling dryly, "Why are you looking at like that?"
Surprisingly, Julian let her go, turning his back. His tall, strong silhouette appeared sowhat lonely, "If you really dislike so much, then just go."
He forced a smile, but his eyes were icy cold, as if deeply saddened, "It’s fine if I spend the rest of my life alone and old."
Maeve was stopped in her tracks.
She couldn’t tell if Julian was acting or being genuinely reactive.
She felt a bit frustrated.
Isn’t it usually the girl asking the guy to take responsibility in these situations?
How did it turn out this way for her...
Finally, after a long silence, Maeve said, "If, for now, we can be together, that’s fine."
She hadn’t planned on spending her whole life with soone.
Nor was she prepared for it.
So, if they were together, they would eventually... part ways one day.
Julian paused mid-action, seemingly incredulous, "You agreed?"
Maeve repeated, "For now."
After speaking, Maeve found herself a bit ridiculous.
Who can guarantee whom they’ll walk with forever?
Maybe Julian would only like her for a little while.
Worrying preemptively seed a bit excessive.
With this in mind, she felt more at ease.
Julian willingly ignored this reminder.
Temporary or not, he could gradually make her fall for him.
He was in an unprecedentedly good mood, grabbing Maeve and pulling her into his arms, holding her as if to ld her into him.
His heart pounded wildly as he said in a deep voice, "You are mine."
From now on, he could openly demand that n around Maeve back off.
He could always be with Maeve.
He could beco the closest person to Maeve.
Maeve was being held so tightly she could barely breathe. Oddly enough, this wasn’t her first relationship, yet why did this one feel... different?
Maybe it was Julian’s emotions affecting her.
"Mmm." Maeve responded perfunctorily, feeling a bit sleepy. Although she didn’t rember last night at all, she could guess how long they had ssed around.
The faint darkness under Julian’s eyes was the best evidence.
She figured she couldn’t be looking much better than Julian now.
And this room, which still carried the lingering scent of affection.
After a while in his embrace, Maeve said, "I want to rest a bit longer."
Julian released her slightly, his handso features softening a bit, "Sure."
He let her go, "Want to eat sothing before sleeping?"
"No need." After gaining her freedom, Maeve didn’t lie back to sleep as Julian anticipated but hung onto him, proactively wrapping her arms around his neck.
Now that they’d confird their relationship, she didn’t need to be coy.
Seeing Julian raise an eyebrow in confusion, Maeve curved her lips slightly, "Carry to your room to sleep."
Upon hearing this, Julian’s gaze darkened instantly. If it weren’t for the fact that Maeve’s clear black-and-white eyes held no other intentions, he might have thought she was inviting him.
But in reality, Maeve just purely wanted to sleep in his room.
The sheets here did need a change.
Julian adjusted Maeve to make her more comfortable in his arms, his voice magnetic and hoarse from the night’s passion, "Alright."
Seeing him agree, Maeve rested on Julian’s shoulder and began to sleep.
Suddenly, it occurred to her, maybe having a boyfriend wasn’t so bad.
The doctor said she could settle down, try finding soone she liked, and perhaps that would cure her... phobia.
He said Henry Hughes was a good choice.
However, Maeve felt Julian seed more fitting.
The only not-so-fitting part was...
Her eyes dimd a bit; Julian didn’t know she had that past.
Maeve also didn’t want Julian to see her in such a sorry state.
If he found out... and then asked her why, how would she respond?
He certainly wasn’t as easy to deceive as Henry Hughes.
Luckily, they booked two rooms last night.
Julian laid Maeve gently on the bed, touching his forehead to hers to feel her temperature, "Is there anywhere you feel uncomfortable?"
Maeve, deeply drowsy, muttered softly, "No."
Besides, she suspected that if she said anything hurt, Julian would carry her straight to a doctor.
Ugh, the thought alone was embarrassing.
But she had only laid down for a mont before Julian pulled her back up, placing sothing cold on her lips.
She opened her eyes to find it was a spoon.
Julian had her lean against him, at so point retrieving a bowl of porridge, now blowing cool a spoonful to her lips, "Eat sothing before sleeping, otherwise it’s not good for your body."
Though she hadn’t wanted to drink it initially, the flavor was truly enticing, so she drank it with her eyes closed.
Early in the morning, Miles Hughes queued up to buy the porridge: Of course it’s good! This breakfast place is famous for its taste!
After finishing, Julian wasn’t letting her off either, firmly stating that sleeping imdiately after eating wasn’t good for her health and that she needed to move a bit.
