Maeve Lane felt her pocket lighten, as if sothing had fallen out.

She opened her eyes to find Julian Fairchild holding her dicine, his expression serious, as if faced with a colossal problem.

"What are you looking at?" Maeve sat up, stretched lazily, and gazed at him with an indifferent look. Her face showed no panic upon the discovery, her smile even had a hint of playfulness—

"Do you want so candy too?"

Julian didn’t answer. Seeing Maeve’s nonchalant attitude, his voice turned grave, "Have you seen a doctor?"

"...I have, it’s just low blood sugar." Maeve took back the dicine from his hand without a care, then put it back in her pocket, her movents as smooth as flowing water, "Let’s go, what should we eat today?"

Turning slightly, her back appeared slender and lean, with faint blue veins visible on her collarbone, her aura cold and ethereal.

Julian stared into her eyes, saying seriously, "...I know a sowhat famous doctor. I’ll take you to see them next ti."

Maeve waved her hand lightly, "No need, it’s just a minor ailnt... Are we going or not? After eating, I’m heading back to sleep."

With all these daily classes, she felt more exhausted than when she was in her senior year of high school.

Julian responded with a "Hmm," and said, "Let’s go."

Since Julian had invited her out, Maeve followed suit and continued walking with him.

Not knowing where Julian would take her.

As they passed by a café, Julian slightly bowed his head and asked, "What candy do you like?"

"Huh?" Maeve was a little puzzled, thought for a mont, and said, "Li-flavored milk candy, I guess."

Actually, she seldom ate candy.

For this reason, she had a quite deep impression of every candy she’d tasted.

That candy was sothing her mother bought for her when she was a child, and hearing Julian’s question now made Maeve feel a bit nostalgic about that taste.

Upon hearing Maeve’s answer, Julian made a phone call.

Maeve, feeling bored, stood under the streetlamp waiting for him. Looking up, she saw Julian raising his hand to make a call, only then noticing he was wearing... pink today.

Julian put down his phone and walked towards her, "Let’s go to the mall first."

Maeve showed a confused expression, "Why are we going to the mall?"

Julian knitted his brows slightly, "To buy you candy."

He lowered his head, and the distance between them was no more than ten centiters. Maeve could even feel Julian’s breath as he spoke.

Her cheeks flushed a little, her heart suddenly stirred, so she turned away and said, "...No need."

But Julian just casually slung her backpack over his shoulder, the dark red backpack looking sowhat out of place with his outfit.

"Why are you..."

"Co over, or I’ll throw your backpack away."

Looking at Julian’s childish behavior, Maeve suddenly recalled how he once insisted on competing with Henry Hughes over a piece of clothing that wasn’t his, and had soone fetch her to write a self-criticism only to say it didn’t et the standard, and now he just casually grabbed her backpack and walked off.

It truly... reminded her of those high school boys, naive and just beginning to understand feelings.

Using their own ways to like soone, perhaps not even realizing if their actions were a bit childish.

But strangely, Maeve never even looked at those people.

Yet if it were Julian...

She actually found it... sowhat... interesting.

Like discovering an unknown side of him.

"What are you dazing off for?" Julian paused his steps, his voice low and magnetic, "Do I need to carry you over?"

"..."

"...I’m coming." Maeve eventually followed her heart, quickening her pace to walk alongside Julian.

They reached a large mall.

As Maeve entered, she asked, "Why did you suddenly think of buying this for ?"

"Aren’t you low on blood sugar? Better stock up," Julian replied as he reached the snack section, looking through it but not finding the brand or flavor Maeve liked, "Only like li flavor?"

The shelves were packed with candies, exuding a girlish charm. Maeve’s tone was indifferent, "Others are okay too; they’re all the sa anyway."

She wasn’t actually hypoglycemic, but she wouldn’t mock others’ care either.

Feelings are not inexhaustible; they are a luxury that one consus.

So, she would treat those who sincerely cared for her with sincerity too.

Whether it was Henry Hughes or Julian Fairchild.

Her previous indifference towards Julian was completely because he never showed her a good face before; it was an eye for an eye.

As for Henry Hughes, she never thought of breaking off with him either. First, because such behavior was immature, and secondly, because if he could accept just being friends, she wouldn’t be so cold-hearted, considering his personality suit her taste well.

Maeve picked out a few types and prepared to leave.

Although she was a little disappointed not to find the candy she had when she was younger, she wasn’t the child who’d throw a tantrum over candy anymore.

Julian took the bag of candy from Maeve’s hand, "I’ll go pay."

Maeve paused slightly, then smiled, "Okay."

"I’ll wait for you outside then."

"Hmm."

Julian headed to the checkout with the items, while Maeve exited the side door, finding a shop selling drinks and sat down.

For so reason, she opened her phone and searched for that brand she rembered, with the browser soon showing nurous news articles.

All of them were about "mismanagent," "plumting stock prices," and "facing bankruptcy."

"So, it’s about to go under..." Maeve locked her screen, looking towards where Julian had been standing, but the person who was standing there a mont ago was nowhere to be seen now.

In the VIP room.

A senior manager, a cashier, and several n in suits stood by Julian, all with bowed heads.

This industry was just a trivial investnt among the countless enterprises backed by the Fairchild Family.

They hadn’t t Julian before, but they were incredibly familiar with Miles Hughes beside him...

The man who had followed the Fairchild Family’s second young master since childhood, most trusted by the future family head!

There weren’t many in the entire Fairchild Family who could make Miles bow his head!

Let alone soone so young; just a little thought would reveal who he was!

Miles had planned to return to the old house today but halfway received a call from Julian, instructing him to wait here.

So he arrived early.

Julian glanced at the ti on his phone, the pressure in his voice palpable, "Stay here and wait."

"Yes."

"These brands, stock more in the future."

Leaving that, Julian took Henry to a small eting room.

He stood still and ntioned a brand, "After you go back, increase their investnt."

Miles carefully recalled, searching through top enterprises for the na, but still couldn’t think of which one it was, could it be a new rising force?

He solemnly asked, "Young master, which one... could you be more specific?"

"The one selling li-flavored milk candy," Julian said simply, "After investing, prioritize supplying this flavor to Aurelia, especially near Aurelia University, understood?"

"Understood."

"Good."

Watching the man’s departing back, Miles suddenly had an epiphany, "Understood... I finally understand..."

"What did you understand, Mr. Hughes?" the manager beside him bent slightly and asked quietly.

"The young master damn... is courting soone!" Once Miles figured it out, everything made perfect sense, "That’s why he cares about his image, even contracting the candy the girl likes."

Just now, the young master kept checking the ti, wasn’t it because... that girl was still here?

Miles’ spirit lifted instantly, quickly following Julian out.

As he thought, the young master’s refusal to let go of the marriage arrangent must have a reason!

"...To think soone as proud as our young master would go to such lengths to woo a girl, it’s truly intriguing. Glad I didn’t leave today!"

Miles’ pace quickened, and soon he witnessed the scene of Julian standing with Maeve.

From afar, he could tell she was a great beauty!

Her profile seed ticulously sculpted by God, her figure tall, red lips slightly curved, with long and shapely legs, fair and slender...

Suddenly, Julian shot a sharp glance his way.

Miles frantically hid himself, his heart nearly stopping.

Alright, it was as he thought, nine tis out of ten.

"Just a look and such a big reaction, seems like the young master is serious... but—" Miles pondered, "Why does the girl by the young master’s side look so familiar?"

"Seems like I’ve seen her sowhere..."
