Julian Fairchild’s breath seed a bit uneven, his hoarse voice made even a man like Miles blush and his heart race, "Go get her a leave of absence."

"Yes."

Miles nodded quickly in agreent, after all it wasn’t his first ti dealing with this on behalf of the young mistress, he had just guessed that the young master and mistress might not be able to go on ti.

"Bang!"

The door was closed again.

Miles touched his nose, "I should’ve just found so excuse to fool Nina Quinn earlier, and now I have to fill the hole myself. But luckily it’s her, if it were that Song person, it wouldn’t be so easy to bluff."

He rubbed his arm, which was still aching a bit, complaining, "It’s one thing that the young mistress can fight, but all these people around her are so capable too, it’s been days and it’s still bruised."

...

Maeve Lane was so exhausted she couldn’t take it anymore.

In her half-conscious state, she felt a cool sensation of water washing over her body, soothingly refreshing, but after a mont her body felt like it was caught in a fierce whirlpool, making even breathing difficult.

After a night of a mix of fire and water, when she opened her eyes again, she felt as if she’d been through a lifeti.

Maeve Lane moved her lips, "Cough..."

Her voice was incredibly hoarse.

Suddenly, she was lifted into the air.

Julian Fairchild picked her up from the bed, his voice was better than hers but still deep and husky, "Are you hungry?"

In his arms, Maeve Lane lightly moved her fingers, her body was sore and weak, and because her voice was hoarse, she just coldly looked at him with her clear eyes.

But maybe because she’d been completely drained of the last bit of strength, she might not even realize that she didn’t seem to be glaring, more like she was pouting.

Julian’s eyes deepened, "Don’t look at like that."

After being passionately loved by him all night, she didn’t realize how enticing she looked, her face flushed, her waist soft, like a peach nourished and nurtured by him, alluring and seductive.

Maeve Lane closed her eyes, letting him be.

By now, it must be late. Julian was still here, which ant Director Dayne must have arranged everything.

Sure enough, Julian carried her to the floor-to-ceiling window, placed her in the egg-shaped chair, pinched her cheek, and said to her stunned expression, "I had Miles go get you a leave from Marcus Dayne, take a good rest today."

When he spoke, Maeve Lane slowly closed her eyes, seeming uninterested in listening.

Julian didn’t seem to expect a response, "I’ll go get you breakfast."

She kept her eyes closed, silent, appearing sowhat aggrieved.

After taking a few steps, he suddenly turned back and said, "Does it still hurt?"

Maeve Lane finally reacted, lowering her eyes and shaking her head.

Julian felt that at this mont Maeve actually had a bit of a temperant; before him she always showed indifference, his lips subconsciously curved up, "I’ve applied dicine for you, if you feel uncomfortable let know."

Maeve realized what he ant, suddenly feeling a bit hot in the face.

She bit her lip, lowering her head and not looking at him.

She had used all her strength yesterday, and Julian still wouldn’t let her go, making it so difficult for her to even speak now.

A silhouette suddenly appeared in front of her.

Julian squatted in front of her, sohow holding a glass of water, his expression half mocking, "Throat feeling hoarse?"
