Asher Forrest flicked his hair back and flashed what he thought was a handso smile. "Hey there, sweetheart."

Maeve Lane, Sarah Sutton, and Nina Quinn all shuddered simultaneously.

Maeve gave him a look like he was an idiot. She’d already found him annoying during the eting earlier.

"Move aside."

If Asher were remotely normal, he’d see how impatient Maeve looked.

But clearly, he didn’t have the insight for that.

Asher snorted and walked right up to Maeve, reaching out to pinch her chin. Maeve knocked his hand away with the back of her hand, her voice cold enough to make one shiver, "Can’t understand human speech?"

"Oh, you’re good at playing hard to get, aren’t you?" Asher gave Maeve an up-and-down glance. "You were staring at just now, and now you don’t want to look?"

Maeve: "..."

Sarah and Nina: "..."

"Which eye of yours saw staring at you?"

Asher’s eyes glinted with disdain. "Don’t deny it. I saw it. You like , are you one of my fans?"

Maeve: "..."

"Pffft, hahahahahaha, help..." Sarah couldn’t hold back her laughter, doubling over in pain. "Maeve, like you? Hahahaha, that’s the funniest joke I’ve heard in my life."

Asher ignored Sarah entirely and leaned in closer to Maeve, trying to find proof in her eyes that she liked him. "Isn’t that right? As soon as I ca in, you were staring at . When you were acting with Julian Fairchild, you kept turning your head to look at . If that’s not liking, then what is?"

Maeve couldn’t even muster a smirk. "Then you’re mistaken. I don’t like you. I even dislike you a lot."

If this were a usual situation, Sarah might have stopped Maeve from being so blunt, but Asher’s sleazy deanor and misplaced confidence made him as bad in Sarah’s eyes as those trying to take advantage of Maeve. Though she might tell Maeve to cool it, when it ca down to it, Sarah didn’t want to see Maeve get the short end of the stick.

Besides, with their big boss around, any major issues would be handled.

Frankly, all they did was get to know each other while filming for three months. Sarah didn’t want Asher trailing after Maeve in the future.

But she did start to understand Maeve. You glance at soone for a little bit, and they think you like them. It’s like absurdity opened a door, and absurdity stepped right in.

Who knew Asher would chuckle, showing a ’just as I thought’ expression. "You say you don’t like , but won are always saying one thing and aning another. Stop trying to play hard to get. I’m giving you a chance now, do you want it?"

Maeve practically laughed out of irritation. "What opportunity?"

"The opportunity to court !" Asher felt even more confident when Maeve responded. He spoke magnanimously. "Although you seem like you have a bad temperant and are just a little-known rookie, if you manage to win my favor, I can still elevate you to the status of a secondary star."

Maeve smiled sarcastically. "Did you take your ds before leaving the house?"

Sarah snorted. "Asher, you sure have a big mouth. You’re just a second-tier celeb yourself, trying to elevate our Maeve to second-tier? Why don’t you climb up first?"

"It’s not that I don’t want to be top-tier. If I wanted to, I definitely could," Asher scoffed. "But you guys, in this lifeti, are at your peak. Without soone backing you, don’t even think about making it big in this industry."
