"I don't know" after a long silence, he finally spoke up in a hoarse voice.
"Ahh" Huo Jianqi felt as if she had just heard the greatest joke ever "You don't know? It ans that you were actually planning on bringing that b*tch ho"
"She isn't a b*tch" he defended Xiao li again in a hoarse voice.
"Now, you are protecting her, huh?" Huo Jianqi felt like her heart had been tightly clenched by a hand making it extrely difficult to breathe. A tear drop rolled down her cheeks and she raised her voice, saying, "Do you even think of as your mother, huh? Do you still care about my feelings? I am your mother and not that girl. You have no right to support or protect her. She has Jingyi Wang, don't you understand?"
Liu Wei felt as it a knife had been stabbed right into his heart re-opening his wound when he heard that Jingyi Wang would always protect Xiao li no matter what.
That was what he hated the most; the fact that another man is able to take care of the woman he loved so much.
Upon seeing that Liu Wei could not retort back, Huo Jianqi laughed and at the sa ti was crying, "Son, now you understand, right? No matter what you do, you can't beat Jingyi Wang. He is only the one in Xiao li's heart"
Her last sentence echoed in Liu Wei's head repeatedly.

Liu Wei's tall and erect figure stood in the middle of the study room with his phone pressed to his ear. His voice was low and cold as he spoke to the other person at the other side.
"I don't care how you are going to do it, you have to save Xiao li and I'm warning you this ti, don't say a word to my mother. She mustn't know about this again. If not-"
He had yet to complete his words when he heard a light knock on the door, "Brother WeiWei"
Li Kaixin soft and sweet voice sounded from behind the door. Liu Wei hung up the call and strolled towards the door with his hand tucked in his pocket. He opened the door and Li Kaixin's beautiful, palm-sized face appeared with a smile.
"Brother WeiWei" Her voice was filled with so excitent and joy.
"Why did you co here late at night?" Liu Wei looked at her, his face had no certain emotions as his eyebrows bounced up.
Li Kaixin's heart ached. However, she still had a sweet smile on her face. "Auntie Jian called and told to co and see you"
Liu Wei heard this and felt a headache instantly. He reached out and pressed his hand on his temple. He felt that his mother was overreacting on this matter.
He knew his mother had a bad temper and didn't like Xiao li because of what happened on their wedding.
She had always wanted to ruin Xiao li after almost ruining her son's and family's reputation.
Liu Wei told the servant to bring Li Kaixin downstairs and serve her tea. When he got downstairs, Li Kaixin put down the cup of tea and looked up at Liu Wei. "Why do you want to save Xiao li?"
Before she arrived, she got a call from Huo Jianqi crying over the phone. She was complaining about Liu Wei wanting to save Xiao li.
She felt her heart ache so badly when she heard this.
She also heard about the problem the Xiao and Wang families are going through. However, she felt that Liu Wei shouldn't interfere in their matter.
She didn't know why Liu Wei still want to help Xiao li after what she did to him on their wedding. Xiao like did not deserve all these love from both n.
Liu Wei heard her, but didn't pause in his footsteps and sat on the couch. He looked at her and smiled.
Li Kaixin's heart skipped a beat and her face flushed beet-red. Under the bright light, Liu Wei's tall figure cast shadow, covering half of the couch. His deep- dark eyes, tall nose and thin pink lips were perfectly shown under the light.
"It's because I can't bear to see her in danger" After a long silence, Liu Wei's deep, magnetic voice sounded.
Li Kaixin was stunned.
She looked at him in shock and disbelief, "Why?" tears welled up in her eyes, but she tried very hard to control them.
Her hands which were on her laps tightly clenched into a fist. Her eyes stared at Liu Wei in anticipation, waiting for his answers.
"It's because she has been the woman I've loved and would always love"
Li Kaixin was stunned at first. She didn't expect him to say all those words. She reluctantly cald down and spoke anxiously, "Brother WeiWei, but Xiao li doesn't love you, you know? The mont she decided to get engaged with Jingyi Wang, it ans that she no longer loved you, right?"
As she spoke, she nervously gripped the rem of her dress, her animated, watery eyes stared at him in anticipation.
Li Kaixin's heart was filled with jealousy when she heard his words. After being betrayed by that woman, he still protected her and loved her.
Was he insane?
She had waited for him for so many years; waiting for the day he would finally look at her with the sa gaze he used on Xiao li. However, he didn't even bother to look at her.
"Yes, I know that she longer love the way she used to in the past" Liu Wei paused as he closed his eyes. He felt his heart tightened so badly that she could hardly breathe. "But I still love her so much and no one would fill her space in my heart"
"Why her?" Li Kaixin stood up and walked towards him. "What about ? Can't you see that I love you so much" she reached out her hand and grabbed his arm. Tears rolled down her cheeks. "Brother WeiWei, I've loved you for so many years now and you didn't even bother to look at . You only had eyes for Xiao li and now that she is gone, you can take , right?"
All of a sudden, Liu Wei stood up and looked at her. He smiled and reached out to pat her head.
Li Kaixin felt her heart suddenly warm up when his large hand landed on her head. A smile appeared on her teary face and she looked at him, "Brother WeiWei-"
"I've always treated you like a younger sister. I know that you have loved , but I advice you to give up because my heart only belongs to Xiao li and that's final"
He then removed her hand which was holding his arm and turned to leave.
Li Kaixin's smile froze and she felt like she was going crazy. She imdiately reacted and rushed to hug him from behind. "No, no, you can't say that, Liu Wei. I don't want to be your younger sister, I want to be your woman. I want to spend the rest of my life with you!"
Liu Wei gently removed her arms which were around his waist and turned around to grab her shoulders. "You won't find the love you want. I can't guarantee that I will forever be with you, so you better give up"
With that, he turned and walked away.
Li Kaixin felt her heart had chattered into a million pieces. She stumbled backwards weakly and fell in the couch.
"Liu Wei, why can't you love back?" she mumbled as tears rolled done her cheeks.
