Nicholas Croft slightly curled his lips and looked at Beatrice Hargrave with softened features. But before he could speak, Hannah Hargrave waved at Beatrice from across him.

"Beatrice, co here,"

Beatrice obediently walked over to stand by her sister’s side. Hannah gently held her hand, her eyes filled with tenderness, "This is my younger sister, Beatrice Hargrave. She’s been studying abroad and returned ho a few months ago, so I’m taking her out to have so fun,"

"Oh..." The host exaggeratedly covered their mouth, "The Hargrave Family really does produce beautiful won..." Engaging in polite conversation, as they walked down the red carpet, Hannah continued to hold Beatrice’s hand, displaying a sisterly bond.

...

After the film festival opening, Nicholas Croft gentlemanly drove the sisters back to their villa.

As Nicholas’s luxury car departed, the curve of Hannah’s lips faded away. She glanced indifferently at Beatrice beside her and stepped into the villa.

"Hannah, you’re back," their mother, Josephine Hawthorne, eagerly stood up as they entered. Henry Hargrave was sitting on the sofa with a tabloid in hand, and he looked up briefly as the won ca in, saying, "This ti you took Beatrice on the red carpet, the effect was good. Now all the major dia are reporting on her,"

Hannah responded lightly. Beatrice followed her in and happened to hear Josephine say, "Humph, they’re reporting on her only because of Hannah and Nicholas’s relationship. Who would notice an unknown girl otherwise!"

Beatrice was accustod to Josephine’s harsh comnts and didn’t even greet anyone as she walked directl towards the stairs when entering the hall.

"Ill-bred bastard!" Josephine sneered at her back, while Henry put down his newspaper and frowned disapprovingly.

"Josephine, you are not to say such things in the future!"

Josephine snorted defiantly, then leaned closer to her daughter’s side, whispering, "How did it go? The thod I taught you worked, right?"

Leaning on the sofa, Hannah’s expression was a bit unnatural, and she replied perfunctorily, "Mom, I just got back, I’m tired,"

"You child!" Josephine disapprovingly clicked her tongue, holding her daughter’s arm, "Just one word shouldn’t tire you that much? Tell , did it work or not,"

Hearing the mother and daughter speaking in riddles, Henry frowned and looked over, "What are you two whispering about? What worked or didn’t?"

Thinking about not seizing the good opportunity to make sothing happen with Nicholas, Hannah felt uncomfortable. She glanced at her father and then stood up, "I’m tired, I’m going to rest in my room!"

Seeing that his daughter didn’t want to continue the conversation, Henry looked at her retreating figure and turned to his wife, Josephine, asking seriously, "What were you two talking about just now? Are you trying to give Hannah so more bad ideas?"

"No way, I was just casually asking,"

Josephine replied with a perfunctory smile, then ca over to sit sideways on the armrest of the sofa beside Henry. She picked up the tabloid he was reading earlier and smiled, "Look, our Hannah and Nicholas are such a good match. I wonder when they’ll make it official."

Looking at the picture in the tabloid of the three standing together, Henry squinted his eyes and said, "One day, let’s invite Nicholas over for dinner, and I’ll make things clear to him."

Beatrice, being young, didn’t feel tired even after a flight and a two-hour car ride. Thinking about how Hannah had been fawning over Nicholas on the drive back from the airport made her uncomfortable.

Bad woman, actually drugging Uncle Nicholas!

No way, she must act quickly to ensure that her girl doesn’t fall into Hannah’s trap.
