Feeling calr, she brought the cup of water to Daniel and treated him like a child.
"Here's your water. Open your mouth and take the straw like a good boy."
She ant to tease him, but he didn't seem to mind and went along with it.
He opened his mouth obediently and let her hold the cup, allowing her to practically feed him like a baby.
Chantelle was stunned.
There was no backing out now.
She had to play along. She continued feeding him, convincing herself that his childish behavior was due to his injury.
"Chantelle, how is Daniel? Is he awake?" Philip walked in and was shocked to see Chantelle feeding Daniel water while holding his head carefully. His jaw dropped.
Had they already gotten this close?
Embarrassed, Chantelle quickly turned to Philip and let go of Daniel's head.
Daniel wasn't ready for it. His head hit the bed with a loud thud. He glared at Philip and yelled, "Get out!"
He was annoyed by the interruption.
Philip quickly collected himself and grinned, "I'm leaving now!" He was pleased to see Daniel falling for Chantelle.
Chantelle was montarily stunned.
The more she thought about it, the angrier she got at Daniel.
He must have been pretending to be sick to ss with her! He seed full of energy when he yelled at Philip. How could she have fallen for it?
Daniel interrupted her thoughts. "Ms. Bently, shall we continue?"
Chantelle glared at him instantly.
anwhile, Kate stumbled into the Bently residence, slling of alcohol.
Ruby imdiately scolded her, "Where have you been? You haven't returned for days!"
"Why do you care?" Kate smirked at Ruby, clearly drunk. "Our family is falling apart. I have to find a way out on my own."
Kate could have stopped after the rich man last night, but she wanted more money, so she kept going.
However, she hadn't earned much and was now too drunk to focus.
"Stop this nonsense!" Ruby said, heartbroken for her daughter. "You're better than this. You're my daughter!"
"Stop this?" Kate chuckled. "If I stop, we'll run out of money fast. Why do you think I'm working so hard?"
"Oh wait," Kate said, glaring at Ruby, "How could I forget about Jas? You don't need to worry. You have Jas to support you."
"Watch your mouth!" Ruby was stunned and quickly put a hand over Kate's mouth. "Your father is at ho!"
Kate froze for a mont, then said nothing. She collapsed onto the couch.
Ruby was furious to see Kate sink so low.
"You need to pick yourself up, Kate," Ruby said. "So what if Bently Corporation is going down? You can always find soone else to support you, and you'll get back in the ga."
Ruby threw a bag at Kate. "Here's the invitation to a birthday party with the Morgan family. Get ready and make the most of it. et their sons. You only need one to get you back on top."
Kate's face lit up when she heard the good news. She quickly grabbed the clothes scattered on the floor and said, "You're the best, Mom! How did you et the Morgans? The third son once liked . Don't worry, I'll win him over. Then, we'll live in a nice house and buy everything we want!"
She stood in front of the mirror, trying on the clothes Ruby had convinced Jas to buy.
"Okay, I'll wait for the good news. Keep getting ready," Ruby replied.
She felt relieved to see Kate's excitent returning.
Ruby grabbed her bag and left the room after giving Kate a reassuring pat.
She knew nothing ca for free, so she went to find Jas, planning to offer herself to him in exchange for the three-hundred thousand-dollar gown.
Three days later, Chantelle was fixing her makeup at Western Hill Villa when Calvin told her, "Ms. Bentley, the car is ready. We can leave anyti."
After putting on her tassel diamond necklace, she stood up and said, "Okay, let's go!"
But as soon as she stepped out of the room, she ran into a commotion.
"You haven't fully recovered, Mr. Wilson. Why are you walking around instead of resting in your room?"
When Chantelle looked up, she saw Daniel in a fine black suit. She was confused by his unexpected appearance but guessed it had sothing to do with the Morgan family's birthday celebration.
It would be an honor for the Morgans to have the wealthiest family in Easthan at their event.
Daniel raised an eyebrow and said, "I heard it's the Morgan family's birthday today. I wasn't planning to go, but I thought you might be lonely without a man by your side."
He then held out his arm, waiting for Chantelle to take it.
At first, Chantelle wanted to step back and find a way to turn him down. But then she changed her mind and said, "Thank you for accompanying , Mr. Wilson."
She linked her arm with his and smiled as they headed to the car.
Soon, Daniel and Chantelle arrived at the Morgan residence.
Roger Morgan and his wife, Belinda Garot, greeted them as they stepped out of their Rolls-Royce.
Roger was surprised to see them holding hands, but he quickly smiled and said, "Welco, Mr. Wilson and Ms. Bently! Thank you for joining us. Let's go inside!"
The guests stepped aside to let them enter the house.
"Mr. Wilson, you and Ms. Bently make a perfect pair!" Roger praised them as he guided them into the event hall.
The guests couldn't stop admiring their looks. "What a beautiful couple, Mr. Wilson and Ms. Bently!"
"They look like they stepped out of a fairy tale!"
"Ms. Bently is so lucky! She must have done many good things to deserve such fortune."
"If they get married, Ms. Bently will be the most respected woman in Easthan!"
Everyone gave Chantelle envious looks, wishing they were in her place. But she felt uncomfortable being the center of attention and wanted to get away from Daniel.
She had co to the event to see what Ruby and Kate were up to, not to steal the spotlight or flaunt her connection with Daniel.
However, Daniel saw things differently. He stopped and said, "Please don't get the wrong idea. Ms. Bently and I aren't dating."
The crowd gasped in shock. So were disappointed to learn the couple wasn't real.
Before they could react, Daniel made another shocking statent. "But I'm doing everything I can to win Ms. Bently's heart. If she agrees, she'll be Mrs. Wilson."
