Fuming, Camille reached for Chantelle’s mask. Chantelle swiftly dodged, and Camille lost her balance, nearly falling on Stephanie. Chantelle caught her just in ti, but Camille used the chance to snatch off Chantelle’s mask.
"Chantelle? It’s you?" Camille’s eyes widened in shock. "Did you wear a mask just to watch make a fool of myself?" she said angrily with a tone full of hostility.
"I have better things to do," Chantelle said, lifting Stephanie into her arms, afraid Camille might hurt her.
"I see. You must be busy getting divorced from Mr. Wilson," Camille sneered, covering her mouth as she laughed. "You were so arrogant before, but now that he’s dumped you, I bet it hurts, doesn’t it?"
The people around them pulled out their phones and wanted to record the drama. But Chantelle wasn’t going to give them the satisfaction. She calmly walked out, carrying Stephanie, and waited for Clinton outside.
Camille, unwilling to miss the chance, blocked her way and taunted, "How does it feel to be dumped? Daniel and I were childhood friends. We would’ve been married if you hadn’t used your dirty tricks!"
"Is a man really that important to you?" Chantelle shrugged her shoulders and smiled, "If you can take him from , I’ll gladly wish you both the best. There are plenty of n in the world."
"No wonder Daniel didn’t stay with you for the kids. No man wants a flirtatious woman. He just left, and you’re already out with another man in public," Camille said loudly, noticing soone recording and trying to sar Chantelle’s na.
"Even if I’m flirtatious, at least I didn’t seduce a married man," Chantelle replied calmly.
Camille was furious. She lunged at Chantelle, but she wasn’t strong enough. Chantelle swiftly kicked her in the knees, and Camille fell to the floor, kneeling.
"Miss, that’s very polite of you," Stephanie grinned at Camille.
Camille’s face twisted furiously. "Chantelle, you bitch! You just can’t stand seeing with Daniel! You broke us up six years ago, and now you’re trying to do it again. I won’t forgive you for this!" she scread.
Camille got up and tried to hit Chantelle, but Chantelle quickly pinned her to the ground. Crying and sobbing, Camille grabbed her phone and called Daniel. She turned on the speaker on purpose. "Daniel, soone’s bullying !"
"Who’s bullying you?" Daniel asked in a gentle and caring way. It was completely different from how he talked to Chantelle.
Hearing his gentle voice made Chantelle’s chest tighten, and she felt irritated, but she quickly pushed her feelings aside.
Stephanie held her mother’s hand, silently deciding to ignore her father for a month.
"It’s her! Daniel, you have to teach her a lesson for !" Camille cried out. She didn’t dare ntion Chantelle’s na because she wasn’t sure if Daniel still had feelings for her. After all, he once doted on Chantelle so much that he wouldn’t let anyone say a bad word about her.
Camille lifted her chin and said in a sweet, coquettish tone, "Daniel, I wasn’t trying to pick a fight with her, but she called shaless and said I seduced a married man. I only scolded her, and she beat up."
Daniel had been talking with Camille on the phone often lately, and she usually complained about Thea. Thinking she was talking about Thea again, he replied casually, "I’ll handle it. Don’t be upset."
"I know, Daniel. Don’t worry, I’m fine," Camille said with a smile before hanging up. She then turned to Chantelle with an arrogant look, as if to say Daniel was hers now.
Chantelle only found it amusing. "Even if Daniel were standing right here, I’d still beat you up if you insult ."
"Stop pretending to be tough," Camille sneered. "You’d better apologize to . If you don’t, I can have Mr. Wilson kick Stephanie out of the cast along with that handso guy over there." She was full of confidence after that phone call.
Chantelle suddenly rembered that Daniel had already transferred all his assets to her. If he was investing in this movie under the company’s na, that ant she was the one funding the film.
"Ms. Chantelle, you’re here? Why didn’t you call ?" Mr. Roscoe, the movie director, greeted her warmly when he saw her.
"Mr. Roscoe, it’s been a long ti," Chantelle replied.
"Mr. Roscoe, I’ve already spoken to Mr. Wilson," Camille said arrogantly. "This handso young man must never get the role of rlin. Also, remove Stephanie from the female lead role!" She glared at Chantelle as she gave her orders.
Mr. Roscoe looked at Camille in surprise and said, "The investor of this movie was Ms. Chantelle. What does it have to do with Mr. Wilson?"
"Did you say Chantelle invested in this movie? How is that possible?" Camille asked in shock.
Chantelle was surprised too. She hadn’t expected Daniel to invest in the movie using her na.
"I thought your performance was quite good just now," Mr. Roscoe said. "But Ms. Chantelle will be the one to decide whether you get the role or not." He had noticed the tension between them and decided to hand the decision to Chantelle, not wanting to offend either Daniel or the Nelsen family.
"I’m just an investor," Chantelle answered softly. "I’ll leave the casting to you, Mr. Roscoe. I trust you’ll pick the best actors for the good of the movie." She had no plans to interfere. Even if she disliked Camille, she wouldn’t purposely block her from the role.
"Ms. Chantelle, that’s wonderful!" Mr. Roscoe said with a smile. He appreciated investors like her who didn’t interfere with his creative choices.
"Wasn’t Mr. Wilson the investor in this movie? Why is Chantelle’s na listed as the investor now? Mr. Roscoe, are you out of your mind?" Camille interrupted and questioned loudly.
Mr. Roscoe frowned and said sternly, "They’re husband and wife. Whether it’s under his na or hers, it’s the sa."
Camille wanted to argue back. She was ready to declare that she was Daniel’s fiancée and that Chantelle had already been dumped. But before she could speak, Chantelle quickly interrupted, "Perhaps I should explain. Mr. Wilson has already given all his assets and shares. So, everything you think belongs to him actually belongs to . I’m the one who invested in this movie."
