Daniel’s expression instantly darkened. If Philip hadn’t been his best friend for many years, he would’ve been knocked out by now. The only reason Daniel was holding back was because Philip was just delivering the ssage.

"Keep going," Daniel said while his jaw clenched and eyes fierce.

Philip took a deep breath and continued. "Thea said Chantie’s been feeling down ever since that rumor about you and Camille being engaged started spreading. She never said anything, but it clearly upset her."

"She could’ve just asked directly!" Daniel retorted sharply. After that news ca out, he had waited for Chantelle to confront him. But she never did. That stung a little.

"You two aren’t even in an official relationship. Why would she feel like she has the right to question you?" Philip muttered under his breath.

Daniel looked like he was about to explode. "She’s my damn wife! What do you an we’re not in an official relationship?"

"Daniel, that’s just how you see it," Philip said, shrugging. "Chantie probably still thinks you’re a playboy who ditched his wife and kids."

Daniel was clearly frustrated, but he couldn’t argue with that. His shoulders dropped, and his anger started to fade.

"Did she really take the kids just because of that?"

Even if she didn’t trust him anymore, did she really have to take the kids without saying a word?

Daniel could feel that during the ti they spent together, he was sure she had feelings for him.

Was he wrong? Had it all been in his head? No, that couldn’t be it.The issue about Camille happened a while ago. There was no way Chantelle was still upset because of that.

"She didn’t leave just because of that," Philip said, pouting. "Thea told Chantie was down for a few days, but then she started focusing on making money and boxing. She said she wanted to protect the kids on her own."

Daniel’s face turned hideous. Everything Chantelle was doing felt like a slap in the face. She was basically saying she couldn’t count on him, and he wasn’t soone she could trust. So she had no choice but to rely on herself.

"Just tell why she left," he growled as his voice rose. He didn’t care about anything else, he just wanted to know where she went and why.

"Thea said she went to see you twice. And it was right after those visits that Chantie suddenly decided to take the kids back to Carcosa."

Daniel’s heart sank. He rembered the two tis Chantelle ca looking for him. He didn’t et her because he was seriously infected with the virus and didn’t want to risk passing the virus to her.

"So... she left because I didn’t see her. That must an she cares about a lot," Daniel said after a long silent.

Philip rolled his eyes.

"Well, according to Thea, that might not be it. She thinks Chantie was upset out of jealousy. Did you ss around with soone else behind her back? Maybe Kate? She’s been missing for a while now."

Philip tried to guess what might’ve happened.

Daniel gave him a sharp glare. "If you’ve got nothing useful to say, then shut up."

Kate was from the past. He wasn’t stupid, and Chantelle knew he wouldn’t suddenly bring her into his house.

Then an image popped up in his mind

The only other woman who had visited him, besides Chantelle and the maids, was Natalia.

Natalia had visited him twice. The first ti, she ca to give him a high-quality comb. He paid a lot for it, planning to give it to Chantelle. But he hadn’t gotten the chance yet.

The second ti, she ca because she was desperate for funding. The company was taking too long to process her request, so she showed up to ask him directly.

Could it be that Chantelle saw Natalia visiting him?

Daniel thought Chantelle must’ve gotten jealous after seeing another woman around him. That ant she still had feelings for him.

Realizing this made Daniel feel better. He even started to smile.

Just then, Ashton ca in. "Sir, Nancy from the Morgan family is here to see you."

"No," Daniel said without hesitation. Chantelle was the only thing on his mind. He had no interest in dealing with anything related to the Morgan family at this mont.

"She said she has sothing to give you. Mrs. Wilson asked her to bring it."

Daniel’s expression changed the mont he heard Chantelle was involved. He imdiately pulled out the IV needle, ready to leave.

Philip quickly grabbed his arm. "You can’t go yet. The dicine hasn’t fully entered your system!"

"Are you trying to stop ?" Daniel raised his brows, clearly losing patience.

Philip felt like he was hanging by a thread. If Chantelle didn’t co back soon, Daniel’s anger might destroy him. Currently, he was probably the only one desperately hoping for her return.

"Think about it. If you leave now, you’ll need to rest for at least a whole day. By then, you might miss the chance to find Chantie. Don’t underestimate her jealousy. You went through this six years ago. Back then, you thought she was just being dramatic. But what happened? She nearly lost her life. And she stayed away for six years because of it. Do you really want to wait another six years?"

Daniel seed to be listening, so Philip kept going.

"Chantie doesn’t play around. When she makes up her mind, she ans it. If you don’t go after her now, you could lose her for good. Thea said she didn’t leave on impulse. She might’ve already been thinking about walking away for real."

Daniel, who had just tried to calm himself, felt the panic creeping into his chest after hearing Philip’s words.

"What if you do this instead? Make a call to handle what just happened first. Then we move only after we know exactly where Chantie is. If you go out now without a clue, you won’t find her."

Daniel glanced at the IV bag, now halfway done, and shot Philip an annoyed look.

Philip rubbed his nose and pretended not to notice it. Getting Daniel to stay still and finish the IV was already a miracle.

A few minutes later, Daniel picked up his phone and called Nancy.

"What did you say to my wife? Tell everything."

Nancy had planned to joke around to lighten the mood, but the mont she heard how cold Daniel sounded, she dropped the idea. She got straight to the point and told him everything about her deal with Chantelle.
