Kate stretched her arms through the iron bars, screaming like crazy and putting all her strength to grab Chantelle.

Chantelle just looked at her like she was already dead.

"You need to get out of here first if you want to kill , Kate. You’ll stay here and face your karma."

Chantelle turned to leave.

It seed the security had been pulled back before she arrived.

The plan was to let her et Kate and feed her with false information.

But now that she had exposed Kate, the real person behind this would soon appear.

She needed to leave this place quickly.

The caras in the hallway were still down.

It was the perfect chance to escape.

She quickened her pace and soon made it back to the upper floor.

Since the flying machine could only be used once, Chantelle didn’t plan to go through the deep pit behind the glass wall again.

She didn’t stay on this floor and kept moving up the stairs.

As she ran up, she glanced down at the glass house below.

It looked like soone was inside, but it was too far to see what’s inside clearly.

Chantelle wanted to go over and take a look, but the step under her suddenly dropped.

There was a sharp "click" sound.

She lost her balance, and before she could react, her whole body was covered in red dots from infrared lights.

It was a sniper target.

She must have triggered a trap just now.

Chantelle knew she was in danger but didn’t dare to move.

She was trying to figure out how to break the trap when the door above her opened.

Fred walked in, standing a few ters away from her with the light behind him.

"Ms. Chantelle, if I were you, I wouldn’t move at all. Otherwise, your body will be full of bullet holes."

"Well, if I were as stupid as you, I guess I would."

"What do you an?"

"Exactly what I said." Chantelle flicked her finger and shot a silver needle at him.

"Ouch!"

Before Fred could react, he felt a sharp pain in the left side of his chest.

"What did you do to ?" Fred asked in horror.

"Don’t worry. It’s just a little poison I made myself. I didn’t expect it would be useful today. If I were you, I’d go, disable the trap now. Otherwise, you’ll be dead in ten seconds."

"You..." Fred glared at Chantelle with his face full of anger.

"Seven seconds left," Chantelle said coldly.

"Fine, you win this ti." Fred clutched his chest, gritted his teeth, and turned off the trap.

Chantelle softly let out a breath of relief when she saw the red sniper dots disappear from her body.

She was worried Fred might risk his life just to kill her.

Luckily, he was afraid of dying too.

"Give the antidote, now!" Fred demanded.

This was his first real clash with Chantelle, and he realized she was far more dangerous than he had imagined.

He had to get rid of her for Mr. Joseph’s sake.

But not today.

"What’s the rush? You’re not going to die."

"Didn’t you say ten seconds? You lied to !" Fred shouted, about to lunge at Chantelle.

But the pain in his chest was too much, and he felt weak.

"All’s fair in war. You should know that," Chantelle said.

"You’re a wicked woman!" Fred growled.

"Thanks for the complint," Chantelle replied while grinning at him.

Fred was furious at Chantelle’s shaless attitude.

Chantelle walked over and looked down at him.

"Assistant Fred, it’s been a few minutes since you showed up. No one else has co. Did you sneak here to et in secret?"

Fred kept his head down and said nothing. His plan had been exposed.

"Looks like I was right," Chantelle said. "I just wonder why. Were you planning to kill while you had the chance?"

Chantelle stared at him with doubt and kept questioning.

"Mr. Joseph really liked you, but I couldn’t accept it. You made him weak. But you’re no match for him!" Fred said, clutching his chest and glaring at her with hatred.

Chantelle was stunned by his sudden accusations.

"You’re loyal and I praise you that. But a loyal servant to a villain never ends well."

"What do you an?" Fred asked, confused.

"What I an is, tell Joseph I appreciate his feelings for ," Chantelle said with a smug smile.

Her red lips and charming smile made Fred freeze for a mont.

But his anger and hatred snapped him back to reality.

"Don’t flatter yourself! Mr. Joseph was just blinded by you. Don’t get too full of yourself!"

"I might not like Joseph, but that doesn’t an I’ll let his dog bark at !" Chantelle shot back, giving him a deadly glare.

Fred sensed danger, but before he could move, Chantelle kicked him hard.

Fred never thought a woman could be that strong.

The kick sent him flying through the air.

He slamd into the wall, then tumbled down a flight of stairs, grunting in pain.

He finally stopped when he hit a platform.

After serving Joseph for so many years, Fred had never suffered such a defeat.

He coughed up blood in rage.

Chantelle stood at the top of the stairs, looking down at him like a goddess of life and death.

"Rember this. A mad dog always gets beaten. It’s bad enough your master likes , and worse that his dog dares to bark at . If you’re all this crazy, go get dical help."

"You! I won’t let you get away!" Fred shouted through gritted teeth.

But before he could say anything else, a crossbow bolt shot through his arm.

He let out a blood-curdling scream and cursed at Chantelle in rage.

It was only then he realized she had a hidden crossbow in her sleeve.

"What a coincidence. I didn’t plan to let you go either. Turns out a dead man can deliver a ssage too. Goodbye, Joseph’s loyal dog."

Chantelle showed no emotion as she raised the crossbow again.

Seeing she was serious, Fred panicked.

"Stop! I was wrong! I crossed the line! I shouldn’t have offended you, Ms. Chantelle. Please spare !"

"Heh, I thought Joseph’s assistant would be tough. I didn’t expect him to be this weak," Chantelle chuckled.

Another crossbow bolt pierced through Fred’s other arm.

Fred scread in pain and coughed out blood again.

"You bitch! You won’t die peacefully... Argh!"
