Sothing was off with Daniel today. His injuries still seed to bother him—he had even fainted earlier. But the mont he woke up, he wasted no ti enrolling Kane in this school, all after just a short father-son bonding session.

If Daniel hadn't been injured, Kane would have already slipped away to find Chantelle!

"You should be in kindergarten at your age," Daniel said, holding Kane's small hand as they walked across the grassy field.

For a brief mont, life felt peaceful.

If that terrible incident hadn't happened years ago, he would be here with Chantelle now. They would be walking together with their son, sending him to school in the morning and picking him up in the evening. Their days would be filled with laughter and simple, happy monts.

Daniel unlocked his phone and checked his ssages. The only thing in the chat was the GPS location he had sent Chantelle. She hadn't replied.

That ant she was already on her way.

"Daddy, you're hurt. Why don't we go ho first? I'll start school when you're better!" Kane pleaded, searching for any excuse to avoid kindergarten. He had nearly finished his chocolate milk, but he still hadn't convinced Daniel to let him stay ho.

Daniel didn't respond right away. Instead, he led Kane to the bleachers by the field and sat down, gently pulling the boy beside him. From here, they could see children playing soccer with their coach.

"Rai, do you rember when I brought you here a month ago?" Daniel asked with thoughtful eyes.

"Huh?" Kane blinked, caught off guard.

He had never been here before, but he wasn't sure if Railer had co with Daniel in the past. His daddy had been acting strange ever since he fainted.

Could it be? Had Daniel figured out he was pretending to be Railer? Was this so kind of test?

"When I brought you here, you really liked it," Daniel said in a calm and warm voice. "You even pulled over to sit here, saying you enjoyed watching the kids play soccer."

He didn't glance at Kane, but there was sothing almost affectionate in his tone.

"Really? Maybe my brain is too little to rember all that," Kane said awkwardly. "But wow, Daddy, you're amazing at rembering things!"

He had no clue about this kindergarten or any mories Rai and Daniel had. There was no way he could make sothing up without getting caught.

What Kane really wanted was to ssage Railer and find out what had happened. But his scumbag daddy had borrowed his phone! Worse, he had no idea when Daniel would return it. Would it seem too obvious if he asked for it back now?

As he tried to sneak a casual glance at Daniel, his father's phone buzzed with a ssage from Ashton.

It contained the results of Ashton's investigation.

Kane Bently, the youngest competitor in the Youth Computer Networking Grand Championship, had won first place...

The docunt Ashton sent contained a long paragraph of text. At the end was a photo from an award ceremony.

At the center stood the smug little brat, Kane. Next to him was another photo—of soone who looked exactly like him. His son, Railer.

So, the one with him right now wasn't Rai.

But Kane... and he was also his son.

Had Chantelle given birth to two sons?

Where was Rai now?

This morning, Kane had ntioned a younger brother. Was he talking about Rai?

Daniel stared at the report on his phone and his hands trembled in shock.

Things were more complicated than he had expected, but this was still good news.

If the boys looked identical, it could only an one thing—Chantelle had never married another man.

Chantelle had played him well.

Daniel smirked and his anger simred beneath the surface.

Ha! It had been years since he last saw her, and it seed his once-docile wife had turned into a cunning little fox.

Interesting.

Chantelle floored the gas pedal, reaching Creek Montessori School in record ti.

Chantelle pulled up right as school hours ended. To avoid the rush, she parked further away and walked to the gates.

She wanted to go inside and find her son, but the security guard blocked her path.

"I'm sorry, only registered parents are allowed inside."

With no other option, she called Daniel.

No answer.

She tried WhatsApp next, but the call didn't go through.

Feeling anxious, Chantelle opened the tracking app on her phone to locate Kane's device.

To her surprise, there was no signal.

Her first thought was Daniel had taken her son!

The mont the thought crossed her mind, Chantelle's panic spiraled out of control.

She was sure Daniel had discovered Kane's identity and hid him on purpose.

The audacity of that man!

Not knowing where her son was drove Chantelle into despair. She stood outside the kindergarten, watching parents pick up their children.

She felt panic.

No matter what it took, she had to get Kane back!

Chantelle rushed to the car and started the engine. Her hands trembled on the steering wheel.

She had raised Kane alone. The thought of life without him was unbearable.

Her chest tightened, and she felt a rush of emotions. She could barely breathe as her heart pounded heavily.

But there was no ti to waste. Determined to find Kane, she made a sharp U-turn and sped toward the Wilsons' residence.

At the sa ti, she called Calvin.

"Check if Daniel has any plans to leave the country today. Kane's phone signal is jamd—find a way to track him. I need his location."

"What happened, Ms. Bently?"

"Daniel must have figured out who Kane is. He took him!"

Chantelle's voice trembled as she spoke.

"Ms. Bentley, let's not jump to conclusions. No matter what, Mr. Wilson is Kane's biological father. He wouldn't hurt him, even if he knew the truth." Sensing her distress, Calvin quickly tried to comfort her.

"He knew I was pregnant five years ago, but that didn't stop him from trying to kill us. We survived only because it wasn't our ti yet. Calvin, I have to find Kane now!"

Daniel might not harm a child like Kane.

But what if he refused to let her see him again after all the lies?

The thought sent a chill through Chantelle.

Her mind spiraled as she pressed harder on the gas, speeding down the highway.

Fear consud her.
