Chantelle hesitated for a mont before finally asking, "Would you co with if I told you I'm your mommy?"

"There's no if in this situation, Auntie Chantelle. Unless you really are my mother." Railer's tone was serious as he looked at her.

Doubt filled his heart as he looked at her face.

The woman in front of him looked exactly like his mother. His expression remained serious, but deep down, he was waiting for an answer.

Chantelle was startled by Railer's question.

She hesitated before asking cautiously, "Do you want to be your mother, Rai?"

Her heart skipped a beat after asking him.

She had been gone for five years, leaving Rai to suffer in the Wilson household. Would he ever forgive her for being such an absent mother?

"It is what it is," Railer said seriously. "I wish you were my mother, but wishing won't change anything."

He looked at Chantelle, almost questioning if she was thinking clearly.

"What if" and "hope" are two different things. How can you confuse them?

How foolish!

"Um... In that case, I'm your mother..." Chantelle hesitated for a long ti before finally telling the truth. She had to face whatever ca next.

Railer was smart and stubborn. If she lied now, he would see right through her.

Getting exposed later would be far more humiliating!

"Are you really my mother?" Railer's face remained serious, but the excitent in his eyes gave away his emotions.

"Yes..." Chantelle lowered her head, ashad, like a child caught doing sothing wrong.

"That little talkative from before—is he your son? He looks just like . Is he my brother?"

"Yes, he is. You have a younger brother and also a little sister nad Stephanie..."

"Then why did you only take them with you?"

Railer was clearly hurt, but he forced himself to endure it.

His fists clenched tightly as if he was angry at himself.

Chantelle's heart ached at the sight. It was hard to breathe. She reached out to hug him, but he pulled away.

Seeing him reject her, Chantelle broke down in tears.

"I'm sorry, Rai. It's all my fault. I didn't know you existed. I should have looked into it. I should have co back for you... I'm really sorry..."

Chantelle wept bitterly and guilt flooded heavily on her heart.

It felt like she couldn't breathe.

Her vision blurred.

She knew this was a symptom of her illness.

But Rai was right in front of her. She couldn't let him see her like this or scare him.

She needed to get out of there.

Chantelle tried to stand, but her body wouldn't listen.

No, not now. Her illness couldn't flare up at this mont.

She fought to stay conscious, but the symptoms worsened. Darkness crept into her vision.

Just as she was about to lose consciousness, she felt sothing warm against her face.

A small hand rested on her cheek.

"Mommy! Mommy!"

Rai's voice reached her ears, and the panic inside her slowly faded.

Her face was flushed red, and it took her a while to regain her senses.

"What's wrong, Mommy? Don't be sad. I'm not mad at you."

Rai's voice was nervous as he pressed the ergency call button.

When Chantelle opened her eyes, she saw the small boy looking at her filled with concern. She smiled in relief.

Her precious son had just saved her.

"Are you feeling better, Mommy?" Rai asked. His tense expression softened, but the worry in his eyes remained.

"I'm already better. Don't worry, Rai. Mommy just had a little headache."

The dical staff arrived outside the door after receiving the alert. They were about to enter when Chantelle waved them off, stopping them.

She knew her own condition best, and she was fine now. Besides, she still had important things to discuss with Railer.

"Rai, you just said you weren't mad at . Don't go back on your word!"

Railer, still worried, gave her a helpless look.

Why did it feel like his mother had lied to him?

"You really didn't know I existed?"

Railer asked one last ti.

"If you had known about , would you have co back sooner?"

"If I had known, I would have co for you right away! Now that you know I'm your mommy, will you co with ?"

"Daddy is actually a good man, Mommy. Would you give him another chance?"

"I used to like him when I was younger, but I've grown up. I don't like n like him anymore. But don't worry, Rai. Even if you co with abroad, you can always return here anyti. What do you think?"

Railer hesitated before saying, "Mommy, there's sothing I need to remind you of."

"Okay, go ahead and tell ."

"If Daddy finds out you're back, he won't let you leave—let alone take with you. Can you wait until I've fully recovered before making a decision?"

Railer said with careful reasoning, assessing the situation objectively.

"Rai, you have to trust in your mother's strength!"

Chantelle's tone was firm and sincere, but when she turned to him, he was silently looking at her.

It was clear he didn't fully believe her.

"Rai, are you reluctant to leave Daddy?"

Railer lowered his head and stayed silent.

He pressed the button to flatten the bed, then lay down and shut his eyes. It was obvious he was pretending to sleep.

Chantelle sighed, feeling helpless.

In the end, it was the adults who held grudges, not the child. Why should she force him to choose?

Since Rai didn't want to leave now, she would stay with him. Once he was fully healed, they could figure out what to do next.

After making her decision, Chantelle left the ward and said goodbye to Rai.

Not long after, she received a ssage from Kane on Instagram.

"Mommy, I escaped from that jerk! I'm on my way to the airport. Where are you all now?"

Since she had already decided to stay, Chantelle replied, "The plan is canceled. Retreat."

Kane quickly responded, "Huh? So we're not leaving? That ans I get to stay and inherit the scumbag's entire wealth? Great!"

Chantelle was left speechless after reading Kane's last ssage.
