Chantelle woke up in the morning and saw that Daniel was gone.
On the dining table, there was breakfast and a sticky note.
The note read, "Thank you for your care, Ms. Chantelle. I am busy, so I will be leaving. I'll leave Rai in your care." A smiley face was at the end of the note.
Chantelle smiled as she read the words.
Lately, she had been living the life she always dread of. She felt both happy and sad, unsure of what to do.
Daniel should have been a kind and gentle husband if he married the woman he loved.
However, Chantelle felt sad because she was the one he married. She couldn't understand why Daniel hated her back then.
"Mommy, did you make this breakfast? It slls so good!" Kane rushed out of his room with ssy hair. He is always concerned about his mother's mood in the morning.
Seeing Chantelle in a good mood, Kane asked about the breakfast.
"Your Daddy made this. Do you want to wash up and eat with ?"
"Did my Scumbag dad make this? Was he here again last night?" Kane was upset. Though he had been asleep, he knew what had happened. He wondered if Daniel had hurt his mother again.
"Yes. He needed my help to change his wound dressing. Although I don't like him, I couldn't ignore him, so I helped," Chantelle explained as she carried Kane to the washroom.
"He ca to change his wound dressing? Fine. I'll let it go this ti," Kane replied, feeling a bit guilty when he rembered accidentally touching Daniel's wound last ti. He started to worry about Daniel and wondered if his wound had healed after two days.
As Kane hesitated whether to ssage Daniel about inheriting his assets, he received a text from him.
Kane was shocked. He thought Daniel might be able to read his mind.
Daniel's ssage said, "Rai, are you awake? I picked a private tutor for you. Mr. Charles will bring him over to teach you later."
"What? Do I have to study?" Kane complained. He had already studied every preschool syllabus abroad and didn't want to waste his ti on more lessons.
"You can go to kindergarten," Daniel suggested.
"No! I want to stay with Aunt Chantelle!" Kane argued firmly.
"You can ask Aunt Chantelle to send you to kindergarten," Daniel insisted.
Kane decided not to reply to Daniel anymore. He left the ssage on read.
In the Wilson Group Of Companies President's office, Daniel misunderstood that Kane wanted to go to kindergarten.
He asked Ashton to prepare materials on international kindergartens in Easthan. He planned to take them back to Western Hill Villa that night so he could choose one with Chantelle.
The thought of both of them sending their child to school while holding hands made him feel happy.
Rai couldn't speak in the past, so Daniel had hired private tutors to teach him at ho. But now that Rai was more active and cute, sending him to kindergarten to interact with other children seed like a good idea.
Daniel smiled as he thought about his son's future plans, feeling in a good mood.
Ashton stood beside him, wanting to say sothing, but he decided to remain silent.
"If you have sothing to say, just say it."
"Sir, have you really fallen in love with Ms. Chantelle?"
"Well, maybe. Do you have a problem with that?"
Ashton saw Daniel's glare and quickly shook his head.
He didn't say anything. Ms. Chantelle might be his future boss, so he stayed quiet.
"Not at all. It's just that Ms. Chantelle has too many secrets. Sir, should we investigate..."
"No need. The past doesn't matter anymore. What matters is that she is Chantelle Bently."
"Sir..."
"Enough."
"Okay!"
"I heard Chantelle caught the assassin who tried to kill her multiple tis."
"Yes. It was a few days ago, the sa day you were injured. After we left, Ms. Chantelle set a trap and caught him."
That's why Ashton was worried.
Soone who tried to kill Chantelle and even hurt Daniel couldn't be an ordinary assassin. Yet, Chantelle caught him.
Ashton wondered if she had soone powerful helping her and whether she was a friend or an enemy.
"Did you find anything?" Daniel asked with a serious expression.
"There isn't much progress yet. I only know he worked for Lone Wolf."
"Where is he now?"
"A warehouse in the Western Suburbs."
"Let's go take a look," Daniel said, standing up and walking out of the office.
Ashton grabbed Daniel's coat and followed him.
Half an hour later, Daniel and his n arrived at the warehouse in the Western Suburbs.
When he got out of the car, he frowned. He heard fighting inside.
Daniel wanted to rush in. But Ashton gathered the courage to stop him.
"Sir, you're injured. Let go inside with a few n."
Daniel hesitated for a mont. Then, he heard a woman who sounded like Chantelle. He pushed Ashton aside and rushed in.
Inside the warehouse, the assassin who had escaped was fighting Calvin. The clever assassin had managed to break free.
Lone Wolf's assassins always completed their mission. He ignored Calvin and aid to kill Chantelle.
"Chantelle, watch out!"
Daniel saw the man charging toward Chantelle. He grabbed Ashton's crossbow and shot at the man's arm.
The man stumbled back, but he still kicked Chantelle in the chest. She fell against the wall and passed out.
Daniel caught her right away. He was relieved to see that Chantelle had only passed out. He handed her to Calvin so he could take her to a safe place.
"Take good care of her. Philip will be here soon."
"Thank you, Mr. Wilson. That man is very sly. Be careful."
Daniel nodded and went back into the warehouse.
The Wilson family bodyguards surrounded the man. When the assassin tried to fight back, they shot him with crossbows.
All his limbs were shot, making him crippled, but none of the shots hit his body.
Daniel walked up to the man and ripped off his mask, revealing the killer's face.
"LF, it's been a long ti."
LF, the assassin lying on the floor, no longer looked angry or shocked. Instead, he started laughing like a madman. "Hahaha! Mr. Wilson, you're smart. How did you recognize ?"
"That's not important. What matters is the person who is important enough to get Lone Wolf's brother to kill my woman."
