Jun Li watched her go back to her room and then leisurely finished her breakfast alone.
Afterwards, she went for a walk with the dog.
Doudou, having grown up in the Heavenly World, had lived in the mortal world for a while but had never been outside the door.
As soon as it stepped out, its two eyes glead with curiosity.
Jun Li didn’t put a leash on it; it was spiritually aware and understood the situation. Under normal circumstances, without her command or unless soone attacked it or her, Doudou would never initiate an attack on a person.
One person and one dog strolled through the neighborhood; the weather was perfect, making it pleasant.
Given its freedom, Doudou frolicked endlessly, running faster and faster. Jun Li watched it run to the front door of Long Yubei’s ho and quickened her steps to follow.
Their front door was open, and Doudou ran right in. By the ti Jun Li entered, she saw at once Doudou in an attacking stance towards Gu Xichen and Jingsheng.
Jingsheng pointed at it with the sun umbrella in her hand.
"Doudou..." As soon as Jun Li spoke, Doudou ran over to her obediently.
"So this monster-like dog is yours?" Jingsheng put down the umbrella in her hand. "Can’t you keep it leashed? What if it bites soone?! Don’t you know rabies can’t be cured?"
"Doudou isn’t an ordinary dog. It understands human speech and can tell if soone ans well or not. If soone shows aggression towards it first, it will respond in kind. If you didn’t show hostility first, it wouldn’t be baring its teeth at you."
For so reason, Jingsheng just didn’t like her. "You know this, but do others? Goddess Jun Li, why are you staying in Qin Garden all the ti? Your intentions are too obvious, aren’t they?"
"You called wrong. I’m not a Goddess anymore; I’m the Divine Mother," Jun Li said unhurriedly. "I’m living in Qin Garden because I bought a house here. I’m living in my own ho. Who are you to question ? If you can’t stand it, try kicking out of Qin Garden? If you can’t, it’s useless to say anything more."
Jingsheng didn’t expect her words to be so sharp, her face turned a little green. "I guess I’m not overthinking it. You’re so eager to be a stepmother to the twins; it’s really too obvious."
"Whether I want to be a stepmother to the twins is one thing. Whether Long Yubei wants is another. Even if I wanted to, if he doesn’t want , isn’t it still impossible? If I wanted it and he wanted too, wouldn’t it still be impossible for you?" Jun Li’s lips curled with a smile. "Everyone should mind their own business. It’s better not to ask about things that don’t concern you."
Having said that, Jun Li turned and left, with Doudou obediently following by her side, no longer running around.
"Honey, did you hear that? This woman is very unscrupulous."
"As she said, the key is still Long Yubei. Let’s go over too."
When the couple reached the living room, Long Yubei and Jun Li were sitting closely, chatting away.
"Why are you two here so early this morning?"
"Just got back from a trip yesterday. Brought so local specialties for the kids to try." Gu Xichen placed the shopping bag on the table. "Are you heading to work?"
"No, I’m not going to the office for a while. Feng Xi is at the company. She’s rested enough and wants to work, just as I want to take a break."
Jingsheng watched Jun Li eating grapes and really wanted to ask Long Yubei directly; she felt she wouldn’t feel better without clarifying things.
