"What are you guys here for?"
"We were told to co and take your soul away..."
"Ha..." Gu Lili laughed, "You think you can do that?"
The group of won fell silent, wisely choosing silence.
"After I finish breakfast, take to see that master," she continued, "and then I’ll let you go."
"Yes..."
Having had her breakfast, Gu Lili set off for the master’s location with these Dead Souls guiding the way.
While she was driving, she said, "I’ve heard that lately the underworld has dispatched a lot of Ghost ssengers to capture Dead Souls. You guys still dare to flit about, do you actually want to be taken away?"
"Miss Gu, are you telling the truth? We haven’t co out for a long ti, so we didn’t know..."
"Whether I’m telling the truth or not, you’ll find out tonight. But all of you are destined for reincarnation eventually, no matter how long you hide."
"We can’t let go of the mories of this life. Once we die, we forget everything."
Gu Lili laughed, "Isn’t it better to forget everything? It resolves it all."
"For us, it’s not..."
Gu Lili didn’t ask further, only saying, "Don’t let yourselves be used by those so-called masters to harm others anymore."
Following the direction of these brats, Gu Lili drove to the base of Beining Mountain on the outskirts of the city.
"The one called Master Void is living in the temple up there."
"You guys wait in the car. I’ll go up and check it out first." Gu Lili put on a mask and climbed up the stairs, step by step.
The temple had an ethereal na, Shenyousi.
Upon entering, the place was crowded with people, the temple seed to be thriving with visitors.
She stopped a Monk and asked, "Excuse , where is Master Void?"
"Master Void is giving a lecture, in that room over there." The Monk pointed.
"Thank you."
Following the directions, she walked over. The door was open, and the room was filled with people. Gu Lili glanced around and imdiately saw a very obese middle-aged Monk sitting on a cushion, lecturing.
She found a seat and listened to his teachings.
The more she listened, the more sure she was that this Monk was no ordinary monk.
He was eloquently using provocative and alluring language to coax money from the worshippers.
An innocent-looking façade, yet engaging in no good deeds.
She had not seen anything untoward at first, but after a while, Gu Lili’s gaze fell upon the Dead Soul of a child.
So, he was exploiting the Dead Soul of a child for his own benefit.
This so-called Master Void did indeed have a trick or two up his sleeve.
At the end of the lecture, Gu Lili quietly followed Master Void and saw him take the brat into a room. She patiently waited a long ti, then watched him co out and lock the door.
She went around to the back of the room, pulled out a piece of talisman paper and threw it out. Then she opened the window’s security bars and climbed in.
The child was fixed in place, unable to move, and looked at her in fear.
"Young friend, how old are you?"
"8 years old."
"Why haven’t you been reincarnated?"
"I can’t." The little boy answered timidly, "This old Monk has under his control."
"How about I help you get reincarnated now?"
The boy’s face grew more fearful, "You... you are Gu Lili..."
Gu Lili looked at him amusedly, "Your reaction is all wrong. Shouldn’t you be happy if I’m sending you to be reincarnated? And you even know my na. Such a young age and yet playing such a good ga, teaming up with this old Monk and aiming at ?! That takes so guts."
