Su Mu looked at Fu Shinian, and then at everything around her, as she walked over:

"When did you do this?"

The last ti they had returned to Shen City together, and he had never revealed any details about this place to her.

Fu Shinian smiled slightly and took her hand, making her sit beside him:

"Not long after we returned to Shen City together, I made a trip here and reset everything in its place. I didn’t an to trouble you into clearing out the house and leaving, but at that ti, given our situation, if I’d told you directly that I was the buyer, you would have been furious and certainly wouldn’t have sold it, right?"

Su Mu smiled and accepted Fu Shinian’s explanation. Looking at everything familiar around her, she couldn’t shake off the feeling that it all seed like a dream, so unreal.

"Actually, there’s no need for this. It doesn’t seem like we will be coming back here anymore."

"In this world, nothing is absolute. Who can say for sure? Just like when you left last ti, you also didn’t expect to be back in Jiangcheng City so soon." Fu Shinian smiled faintly, "This is the place where you and Qiqi have always lived. To be honest, letting soone else buy it and change the layout would make feel a sense of loss. I missed out on Qiqi’s growth for three years, and I wasn’t part of your life, but being here, it feels like I can sense more of you both."

Tears welled up in Su Mu’s eyes. When she left, it was with reluctance, but now, regaining what was lost, she found this emotion even harder to manage.

Fu Shinian noticed Su Mu’s emotions and hugged her into his arms with a soft sigh:

"I didn’t do all this to upset you. Please don’t cry. I was just selfishly keeping a nto for myself. Besides, with your job often requiring travel, this place could be a ho for you whenever you need to co to Jiangcheng City."

Su Mu stopped her tears and managed a faint smile:

"It seems a bit too wasteful just to keep this place for an occasional stay."

"How could it be?" Fu Shinian raised an eyebrow slightly, "We’re not short on money."

Su Mu burst into laughter.

The two sat on the sofa chatting for a while, and then Fu Shinian urged Su Mu to go freshen up, as sitting in a car for hours is inevitably tiring. Su Mu didn’t refuse and went straight to the bathroom, while Fu Shinian got up and went to the balcony. He felt like smoking, but recalling how long he had quit, he felt it would be a sha to start again, so he resisted.

It was at this mont that Song Yi’s phone call ca through with a brief conversation:

"Mr. Fu, I have found out which hotel Su Shiyue is at."

"Hmm, go there tomorrow morning."

"Yes."

That night Su Mu thought she and Fu Shinian would sleep peacefully since they had important things to do the next day. But when Fu Shinian ca out of the shower and onto the bed, he pinned her down without warning, and Su Mu looked at him, caught off guard:

"You... you want?"

Fu Shinian smiled faintly:

"Wasn’t I clear enough?"

"No, it’s not that. I just thought you might not be in the mood."

"Why wouldn’t I be in the mood? It’s rare for us to be without Qiqi, not having to sneak around and hug you to the guest room every day. I’m going to make the most of it today. Are you ready?"

Su Mu felt sowhat helpless, but she didn’t want to refuse, and smilingly replied:

"If Qiqi hears you say that, she might feel sad."

"She won’t. She will be understanding."

After saying this, Fu Shinian bent down to kiss her. Su Mu, after a mont of endurance, gently wrapped her arms around his shoulders and began to reciprocate.

Fu Shinian was a man of his word, and so that night he truly did not spare Su Mu. Su Mu was worn out from his exertions, and in a daze, she didn’t understand one thing - although he said he wanted to join her in the guest room every night, he never showed rcy any of those tis, so why did he ntion ’getting even’?

But at the mont, she no longer had the energy to care about this issue. She just wanted to beg for rcy.

The next day when she woke up, Fu Shinian was getting dressed, apparently ready to go out. Su Mu propped herself up to get out of bed, but the aches all over made her involuntarily groan. Hearing this, Fu Shinian turned back to look at her and then stepped toward her:

"Don’t be in a hurry to get up. You should sleep a bit more."

"Are you going out?"

"Yes, Song Yi said that Shiyue booked a flight for noon to go abroad. I have to clear things up with her before then."

Su Mu nodded:

"You’re going to the hotel?"

"Yes."

"I’ll go with you." As she spoke, she was about to get out of bed, but Fu Shinian stopped her: "You get your rest, there’s no need to co with ."

"How can that be okay? You and Shiyue might start fighting at any mont, and it could all backfire."

After saying this, she got out of bed regardless of Fu Shinian’s objections. However, when she stood on the floor, she couldn’t help but furrow her brows. Fu Shinian saw this and suddenly felt so self-reproach. He never intended to have Su Mu accompany him to face these troubles. That was why he was sowhat unrestrained last night. If he had known how determined Su Mu was, maybe he wouldn’t have done so.

It was 20 minutes later when they were ready to leave. Fu Shinian personally drove towards the hotel, with Su Mu sitting in the passenger seat, yawning repeatedly. Fu Shinian felt a surge of pity:

"Tired?"

Su Mu nodded:

"Yes, please be more gentle next ti. I really can’t take it."

Fu Shinian laughed upon hearing this:

"I can only promise not to be so unrestrained during your workdays."

Su Mu glanced at him without a word, yawning again. Fu Shinian told her to lean back in the seat and rest, but Su Mu shook her head slightly: "We’re not far from the hotel now. Let’s talk about it after everything is settled."

Fu Shinian looked at her:

"It won’t be that easy."

"Although I can’t fully empathize with Shiyue’s feelings and emotions, I can understand her. Putting myself in her shoes, if I were in her place, I wouldn’t know what to do and would probably break down too, so..." Su Mu looked at Fu Shinian, "when you see Shiyue later, talk to her nicely, don’t be harsh."

Fu Shinian sowhat helplessly:

"Do I really seem like soone who gets angry easily in your eyes?"

"Yes." Su Mu nodded. "You used to get so angry with , you’ve forgotten, but I haven’t."

Fu Shinian: "..."

Won really are creatures prone to bringing up the past; it might be better for him to just keep quiet.

The car parked in the hotel’s parking lot, Fu Shinian and Su Mu got out of the car, and walked side by side towards the hotel. They rode the elevator to their floor, and as the elevator doors slowly opened in front of them, before they could even step out, they saw Fu Shiyue standing outside the elevator doors.
