Perhaps it was Fu Shinian’s question that had stirred up discontent and resentnt in Su Mu’s heart, causing her to spend the following ten minutes cursing at Fu Shinian. However, due to her good upbringing, her repertoire of insults was limited. Fu Shinian found it amusing and didn’t take it to heart, aware that Su Mu was mostly venting her feelings.

After enduring so much injustice, she indeed needed to vent, so Fu Shinian didn’t stop her; instead, he simply watched her with a smile lingering on his lips.

Half an hour later, Su Mu, exhausted from cursing and parched, wanted to drink so water. Resigned, Fu Shinian went to fetch water, but no sooner had he stepped into the bedroom than Su Mu began to vomit uncontrollably by the bed, spattering both the bedsheets and her own clothes.

Fu Shinian frowned slightly, not because of the acrid sll nor the ss that he’d have to clean up later. Seeing her in such a state, his first thought was whether Su Mu was feeling uncomfortable.

It seed she was indeed in discomfort. Fu Shinian walked over and gently patted her back to ease her breath, but she apparently hadn’t finished vomiting. Fu Shinian hadn’t anticipated this and couldn’t dodge in ti—the result was that his clothes also suffered.

He had a slight obsession with cleanliness; normally, he would have lost his temper having his clothes stained in such a manner, but this ti, he didn’t. He continued to calmly pat Su Mu’s back until she cald down, then handed her a cup of water, saying,

"Rinse your mouth."

Obediently, Su Mu opened her mouth, but instead of rinsing, she drank the water down. Fu Shinian watched her do so, resignedly thinking that it was all coming from her stomach anyway; drinking it again wouldn’t make much difference.

After calming completely, Su Mu did not fall asleep. Her stomach seed to discomfort her greatly, and she restlessly tossed and turned on the bed. Fu Shinian placed the cup on the bedside table, got up, opened the window to air out the room slightly, then carelessly tossed aside his soiled clothes and bent over to pick Su Mu up.

"Let’s go have a bath."

Although intoxicated, Su Mu’s instinct to guard herself was intact. She struggled subconsciously when she sensed soone lifting her, calming only after she saw Fu Shinian’s face clearly. She reached out hesitantly to touch his face, then smiled faintly,

"Fu Shinian?"

Fu Shinian was happy that she could still recognize him at such a ti but also worried that her recognition might make her act out even more. It was late, and he was not sure he could keep Qiqi asleep. Knowing that Su Mu did not want Qiqi to see her in such a state, he had no choice but to coax her,

"Yes, it’s . You are drunk, and I am taking you for a bath, okay?"

Fu Shinian was fully prepared for her to object, and even anticipated that she might lash out. However, he had not expected that she would agree, or even actively encircle her arms around his neck and snuggle into his chest. Rembering the harsh words she had hurled at him earlier yet witnessing her current actions was like watching a live demonstration of irony.

If possible, Fu Shinian would have liked to capture this docile, dependent side of Su Mu on cara, but rembering how she would react adversely later, he decided against it. This image of her would likely remain unforgettable for him for the rest of his life.

He smiled softly, lifted her in his arms, and walked towards the bathroom.

Both needed a bath, but given Su Mu’s condition, leaving her alone was out of the question. The nature of their current relationship made it inappropriate to bathe together, but those considerations would likely only occur to a sober Su Mu. In contrast, Fu Shinian felt no psychological pressure. Upon entering the bathroom, he let Su Mu sit on the edge of the bathtub and removed her clothes.

It might have been a bit cold as Su Mu started to tremble slightly. Fu Shinian turned on the warm air and began to fill the tub with hot water. Su Mu gradually began to feel better but kept holding onto Fu Shinian’s hand.

Fu Shinian tested the water temperature, found it suitable, and helped Su Mu into the bath. Even though she was drunk, the contact with the warm water elicited a comfortable sigh from her, which made Fu Shinian pause for a mont. His restraint had been tested far too long, and now, in such a situation, every move Su Mu made threatened to tear it apart.

He minded not at all, but he feared for what might happen the next day.

Reflecting on it, he decided against doing anything rash and went to take a quick shower, although it was done with utmost haste, vigilant of Su Mu possibly sinking beneath the water. He erged a re few minutes later wrapped in a towel, only to find Su Mu already sound asleep in the bathtub, her docile deanor almost making Fu Shinian want to laugh.

He washed her, a task that was incredibly torturous with the person he liked laid bare and unresisting right before him—entirely at his rcy. Fu Shinian was no saint; he was in excellent health, and his needs were notably strong, yet he refrained from touching her even though he felt on the verge of exploding.

After he had washed her body, washed her hair, and even helped remove her makeup – his first ti serving soone to this extent, inevitably a bit clumsy but persistent—he only found drying her hair challenging as she was too tired to even stand. Fu Shinian simply secured her between the sink and himself, and she leaned obediently into his chest, letting him tend to her.

"I’ve never served anyone like this in my life; you’re the first. If you don’t return to my side, I swear I might kill Wen Han."

Fu Shinian was just muttering a complaint under his breath, but his words seed enough to stir signs of wakefulness in Su Mu, who began to squirm in his arms. Already struggling with his self-control, Fu Shinian couldn’t help but spank her lightly, reprimanding,

"Behave yourself."

The slap, although not painful, quieted Su Mu down, but before Fu Shinian could relax, she began to move again. This ti, she didn’t wiggle around—instead, she directly yanked off the towel around Fu Shinian’s waist. Fu Shinian paused in drying her hair for a few seconds, then couldn’t help but smile and muse,

"Su Mu, if I tell you tomorrow that you forced into this, would you believe ?"
