When Jiang Bei arrived, Su Mu had already ordered the food and shared with her what she had chosen, asking if she wanted to add anything else. Jiang Bei smiled, "You know my taste best. All your choices are what I like, so no need to add anything. Let’s talk after we’ve eaten."
Su Mu smiled, "Okay."
After the dishes were served, Su Mu casually ntioned the matter of renting a house. Hearing this, Jiang Bei put down her chopsticks and looked at Su Mu unhappily.
"What do you an by that?"
Su Mu knew Jiang Bei would react this way and wasn’t surprised. She just smiled faintly and continued eating.
"Don’t think about those useless things. It’s not because of you. I have really decided to go back and develop my career in Shen City. Since I’m returning to Shen City, I can’t keep living in your house, right? Besides, my new studio is quite far from your apartnt. The place I’m moving to is actually much closer, which will make commuting more convenient."
"I’d gladly give you that apartnt for free if I wanted to. Now do you understand why I didn’t want to tell you about my situation with Ji Nanfeng? I just didn’t want any misunderstandings. If it were sothing that could be resolved by staying away, I would go straight back to the apartnt. Wouldn’t it be more worry-free to live together? I’m truly not staying away because you are there."

Jiang Bei knew that Su Mu had made up her mind and that nothing she said could convince her to reconsider moving back in. She sighed softly, "Alright, I won’t say more. If I’m not wrong, you’ve already packed up, haven’t you?"
Su Mu nodded.
"Yes, everything is packed up. I’ll move tomorrow, and I’ll return your keys when I co back from Jiangcheng City."
"You’re going back to Jiangcheng?"
"Yes," Su Mu responded, "Since I’ve decided to return here, I should quickly wrap up things there. Not all the staff in my studio will necessarily co with , so it’s better for to go back earlier and have a plan in mind. Also, keeping my house there is pointless, so I’m thinking of selling it."
Jiang Bei nodded.
"It’s better for you to co back. We’re all here, and it’s just too lonely with you by yourself in Jiangcheng."
Su Mu smiled and suddenly thought of sothing as she lowered her gaze to continue eating. She looked up at Jiang Bei.
"Have you been in contact with Wei Shaoqin recently?"
Jiang Bei shook her head.
"No contact, but I did run into him once at the hospital."
"Hospital? Is he not feeling well?"
"No, he was there to visit a patient." Jiang Bei looked at Su Mu. "Why do you ask about him?"
"Nothing much, I just feel like it’s been a long ti since I’ve seen him."
"Maybe he’s busy or perhaps he’s in a hot pursuit of so woman. I just hope he’s careful enough to avoid finding himself at the hospital with an embarrassing illness."
Su Mu couldn’t help but laugh at that comnt.
"From what you’re saying, if Wei Shaoqin really got so disease, he’d be going to a urologist, wouldn’t he? Why would he co to you?"
"I’m just saying. Didn’t Ji Nanfeng end up in the hospital in the sa way?"
Su Mu was taken aback for a mont, her gaze settling on Jiang Bei’s face. Sensing Su Mu’s look, Jiang Bei smiled lightly, "You’ve heard all about it, why are you so surprised?"
"What surprises is that you don’t seem to mind at all."
"Does it matter whether I mind or not? It’s what really happened. Knowing all his issues, I still chose this path."
After a few seconds of silence, Su Mu finally asked,
"A lot has happened recently, and Ji Nanfeng has been by your side, but I know it’s not as it seems between you two. So, what’s the situation with you two now?"
Jiang Bei smiled faintly.
"Speaking of which, how is my aunt? You should have visited her today, right?"
The abrupt change in topic left Su Mu feeling helpless, but she didn’t want to press Jiang Bei, who wasn’t inclined to talk. Besides, Jiang Bei was always like this, and now she was pregnant, making Su Mu reluctant to upset her. Su Mu, though internally frustrated, still followed Jiang Bei’s lead in the conversation:
"I did visit her, but I always feel sothing’s not quite right. She seems very absent-minded."
"That’s normal. You weren’t much better when you first divorced Fu Shinian."
Su Mu: "...Can we just focus on eating?"
Jiang Bei raised an eyebrow with a smile and didn’t continue.
After parting with Jiang Bei, Su Mu drove straight back to the Wen Family’s house. She found the living room empty without Zhou Yaxian; only Wen Han was sitting on the sofa, watching the news with no volu. The entire house was eerily quiet. Su Mu quietly took a seat beside Wen Han, who showed no surprise and said softly,
"Did you get everything sorted out?"
Su Mu looked at him. "You knew I was coming?"
Wen Han smiled faintly, "I’ve known since you entered. Did you really think I wouldn’t notice?"
"Then why do you look like that, making worried?"
Hearing this, Wen Han turned to Su Mu, his eyes filled with earnest hope, "Worried? Worried about what?"
"Don’t you know what I’m worried about?"
"Things have happened; even if I can’t accept them, what can I do? My father is not coming back." Wen Han gently held Su Mu’s hand. "So there’s nothing to worry about, especially since I still have to take care of my mother and son. I won’t collapse; I just need ti to adjust."
"I know. You shouldn’t push yourself too hard. So things take ti."
"Right," Wen Han looked at Su Mu. "Did you find a place?"
"Yes, I found one. It’s nice. I also found a new place for the studio today. Got lucky, so I want to go to Jiangcheng as soon as possible to deal with the follow-up matters. That way, I won’t need to travel back and forth and can have more peace of mind."
"When are you going back?"
Su Mu looked at Wen Han, hesitated to speak, and Wen Han imdiately understood, responding with a light smile,
"If you’re worried about , there’s no need. I’m not so fragile as to need your concern, am I?"
"It’s not about whether you’re strong or not. I just feel I should be by your side at a ti like this."
"No need. Go with confidence. The sooner you leave, the sooner you’ll return. After that, you can be by my side all the ti, which will give even more peace of mind."
Su Mu was silent for a few seconds, then nodded, "I’ll book a ticket for tomorrow to go back. It will probably take about a week."
"Alright, I’ll call you."
Because she was returning to Jiangcheng the next day, Wen Han soon urged Su Mu to leave to rest properly. Su Mu, rembering that she still had to move the next day and that there was indeed a lot to do, didn’t argue. She went upstairs to Wen Shaoyuan’s room to call Qiqi, but to her surprise, Qiqi didn’t want to leave.
"I want to stay with Shaoyuan. He really needs now."
