Ji Qingshan had never had any contact with Su Mu, and had only occasionally heard Ji Qingluan ntion her. He didn’t expect that soone with a not-so-great family background could be so upright and unyielding. He slightly smiled and said,

"Do you really like Wen Han?"

"No matter whether I like Wen Han or not, he is my boyfriend now, and you have no right to interfere. I got in the car and listened to you talk about things I don’t like to hear, not because I’m afraid of you, but because you are Ji Qingluan’s brother, and you were looking out for her good, too. However, Mr. Ji, before I ca into the picture, there was ample ti between Qingluan and Wen Han. If they didn’t co together, it might be because they’re not suited or perhaps their fate hasn’t arrived yet. But it’s definitely not because of . Do you really think I’m the obstacle in their relationship? Isn’t that a bit forced?"

"I used to be too lazy to ddle in Qingluan’s affairs, but these days, as I watched her becoming more and more outrageous, I felt that I couldn’t just stand by and let her continue like this. She acts as if nothing is wrong when she’s in front of you, but do you know the crazy things she does when she’s alone?" Ji Qingshan looked at Su Mu, "I don’t expect you to understand, but as long as you leave Wen Han, I have many ways to bring those two together."

Upon hearing this, Su Mu let out a slight laugh:

"Even children know that a lon twisted off its vine is not sweet, how co Mr. Ji doesn’t understand this?"

"I don’t need the lon to be sweet. Maybe I even hope it isn’t. Qingluan has had feelings for Wen Han for so many years. Even if she doesn’t like him, she should be moved already, right? But Wen Han is cold-blooded. He has never looked at Qingluan properly, and she, lacking guts and being stubborn, has fallen for so many years yet refuses to give up. Maybe only after she tastes the flavor of this lon can she truly let go of herself."

Su Mu fell silent for a few seconds, then slightly smiled:

"For Qingluan, you are truly try hard."

"She’s my only sister; I can’t stand to see her suffer."

Su Mu was touched by Ji Qingshan’s effort for Ji Qingluan, but she couldn’t simply concede because of it:

"I admire and am moved by your care for Ji Qingluan, but I still can’t agree to your request. Wen Han and I do have many problems, but even if they are nurous, they shouldn’t be solved through a deal. Perhaps Wen Han and I won’t end up with a good result, but while I still can make an effort, there’s no reason for to give up. Besides, I understand Qingluan to so extent. A relationship conceded out of pity is not what she’d want."

Ji Qingshan wasn’t surprised by Su Mu’s response; in fact, he had anticipated this outco from the beginning of their conversation. He gave a slight smile:

"Miss Su isn’t worried that I might resort to certain asures against you?"

Su Mu also smiled:

"You wouldn’t. Qingluan is such a good person; as her loving brother, how bad could you possibly be?"

Ji Qingshan withdrew his gaze to look out the window:

"That’s not necessarily true."

Su Mu looked at his side profile without saying another word. In truth, she wasn’t completely sure whether Ji Qingshan would take any action against her; after all, to her, Ji Qingshan was still a stranger. But she could only say this much, hoping he would not resort to any asures, considering she and Qingluan were sowhat friends.

Her life was chaotic enough, and she could not bear another round of upheaval.

Su Mu arrived at Bishui Yuntian just as Fu Shinian was returning from the office. Their cars encountered each other, and as his car slowly ca to a stop in front of her, he lowered the window. Su Mu looked at him, greeted him, and Fu Shinian nodded slightly, his gaze slowly shifting to Ji Qingshan’s car. Ji Qingshan didn’t get out of his vehicle and drove away directly, while Fu Shinian opened the car door, inviting Su Mu to get in.

Su Mu didn’t refuse and sat in the back seat. Seeing her exhausted appearance, Fu Shinian slightly furrowed his brow:

"How co you were with Ji Qingshan?"

"It’s nothing; he had sothing to discuss with ."

"About Ji Qingluan?"

Su Mu couldn’t help but look at him skeptically, as if he could guess everything that happened around her. It was a truly terrible feeling, like being transparent, while he seed to be a manipulator, calmly seeing everything clearly.

Fu Shinian knew he’d guessed correctly upon seeing Su Mu’s expression and smiled slightly:

"It seems I have gained an ally."

"What do you an?"

"Ji Qingshan must have talked to you about breaking up with Wen Han for Ji Qingluan’s sake, right? Even though our reasons are different, our goals are the sa. It seems I need to invite him out for a al soon to increase our rapport, so we can better coordinate and hasten your breakup."

Such brazen and unguarded words made Su Mu admire him. She let out a light laugh:

"Are you too confident in yourself?"

Fu Shinian chuckled:

"It’s not that I have too much confidence in myself, but you lack confidence in your relationship with Wen Han."

Continuing the conversation would risk an argunt with Fu Shinian, so Su Mu simply shut her mouth. But this concession made Fu Shinian happy. If she hadn’t been hit the nail on the head, with Su Mu’s current temperant towards him, how could she not argue her point?

Although he had guessed the lack of sentint between Wen Han and Su Mu, witnessing Su Mu’s behavior in person felt quite different.

Fu Shinian’s happiness was obvious, as if he wanted Su Mu to know his feelings. Su Mu, sitting beside him, couldn’t help but sense it, yet she ignored his attitude, finding him increasingly childish.

Qiqi, who hadn’t seen Su Mu for several days, exploded with unspeakable excitent. She wanted no one else, not Great Grandmother, not Brother Shaoyuan, and least of all Fu Shinian. The mont she saw Su Mu, she threw herself into her arms, holding on tightly, not letting go for a long ti.

Great Grandmother sat on the couch, watching the scene, her eyes reddening. She so wished she could see Qiqi all the ti, the whole family forever together, the parents working, her helping with the child at ho, and enjoying the bliss of family life once back from work. But...

Thinking this, her gaze turned glacial towards Fu Shinian. Though he felt wronged, he did not dare to retort and accepted all of Great Grandmother’s discontent.

Knowing Su Mu was coming, Great Grandmother had instructed the kitchen to prepare lots of delicious food. Su Mu had initially not wanted to stay, but seeing Great Grandmother’s expression, she couldn’t bring herself to refuse and accepted the invitation.

At the dinner table, Wen Shaoyuan took good care of Qiqi, and Qiqi listened to him well. The adults watched with smiles, especially Great Grandmother, who thought back to sothing she said years ago:

"Years ago, I said that if Susu had a daughter, she could marry Shaoyuan, and wouldn’t that be sothing? Who would have thought I’d be right, and now both kids are so grown up."

Su Mu gave a slight smile and was about to respond when Fu Shinian jumped in first:

"Great Grandmother, as good as your idea is, I’m afraid it won’t co to pass."
