Qiao Yu got out of the car, stood in front of the two children, and noticed that Su Yimo’s eyes were brightly fixed on him. He couldn’t help but smile, crouched down in front of her, and asked:
"Why are you looking at like that?"
"Because you’re good-looking." Su Yimo’s voice was clear, a supre affirmation of Qiao Yu’s appearance.
Wen Shaoyuan pursed his lips, sowhat reluctant to speak, as he had never considered a situation where ’the teacher fails before the student excels,’ but seeing Su Yimo’s condition, he had to sigh and say:
"Uncle Qiao."
Qiao Yu smiled slightly:
"Shaoyuan, where are you taking such a cute little sister?"
"To find..."
Since Su Yimo had zero resistance to handso guys, the mont Qiao Yu asked this question, she subconsciously began to answer, but before she could finish, Wen Shaoyuan covered her mouth. Although Su Yimo didn’t understand why, she obediently shut her mouth. Qiao Yu saw the action of the two and smiled slightly, understanding most of it:
"Why are you guys at the hospital?"
Having learned from the last lesson, Su Yimo did not speak this ti, but instead looked at Wen Shaoyuan, who smiled slightly:
"I ca with Xiaobei’s aunt."
"Since you ca to the hospital with her, why are you here hailing a cab? Where are you going? Does your aunt know?"
Wen Shaoyuan didn’t speak. Su Yimo was even more at a loss for what to say, and the atmosphere beca heavy. Just as Wen Shaoyuan was thinking of finding an excuse to temporarily go back to the hospital, Qiao Yu spoke up first. He looked at Wen Shaoyuan and said in a light tone:
"Are you planning to take her to find your Uncle Fu?"
Wen Shaoyuan didn’t know how Qiao Yu had figured it out, but having their actions exposed was ultimately disadvantageous for them. Moreover, Wen Shaoyuan couldn’t be sure whether the man standing in front of him was a friend or foe, so he had been on guard watching Qiao Yu without speaking. Qiao Yu was amused by Wen Shaoyuan’s manner and reached out to touch his hair, then rembered that he disliked this gesture, so he stopped halfway.
"You don’t have to be so guarded against ; everything I do is for your best interests." Qiao Yu pointed to the busy road beside them: "You two are so young, and setting aside the danger of hailing a car here, even if you do manage to flag one down, how can you be sure the driver will definitely take you to your destination and not abduct you?"
Wen Shaoyuan looked at Qiao Yu:
"Uncle Qiao doesn’t need to use these words to scare ; I’m almost nine years old, I know who’s a bad person and who’s a good person."
Qiao Yu couldn’t help but chuckle:
"Then take a look at ; do you think I’m a good person or a bad person?"
"You are a good person." Wen Shaoyuan didn’t hesitate: "You are a doctor, saving lives and helping the injured."
"Since you think I am a good person, then shouldn’t you also listen to what I say?"
Wen Shaoyuan did not speak, quietly looking at Qiao Yu as if silently resisting. Qiao Yu was very aware of what Wen Shaoyuan wanted to do, and also knew that his actions must be sothing Jiang Bei was unaware of. He could, of course, directly call Jiang Bei to pick them up, but...
This was also an opportunity.
Though risky.
Qiao Yu sighed helplessly:
"If you trust , I’ll call him and ask him to co over here to et with you, is that okay?"
Wen Shaoyuan did not believe him:
"Really?"
"I’m calling right now."
Qiao Yu took out his phone and dialed Fu Shinian’s number, and a few seconds later, the call was answered. Qiao Yu, however, was at a loss for words as to how to describe the current situation, until Fu Shinian spoke:
"Did you dial the wrong number?"
"No." Qiao Yu sighed and finally spoke up, "The Wen Family’s young master has brought a cute little sister with him, and they’re right here with . Do you want to co and see them?"
As Qiao Yu had anticipated, there was a long silence on the other end of the phone after his words. He understood Shinian’s feelings, so he gave him enough ti to wait until Shinian spoke up:
"It’s a critical ti. Are you crazy?"
"I’m not crazy, so I’m just asking for your opinion." Qiao Yu looked at the pair before him, his expression tender, "Do you think kids these days are as naive as we were when we were little? If it hadn’t been for to stop by the hospital to pick up so things, they might have already been on the car to the old house by now. Do you think the situation would be easier for you to handle by then?"
Qiao Yu had decided to let Fu Shinian co over for two reasons: first, to fulfill Shinian’s longing for the child, and second, because he believed that today’s failure would not dissuade Shaoyuan from his idea. Shaoyuan would surely look for another opportunity to et Shinian. Rather than having everyone caught off guard then, it was better to fulfill each other’s wishes now.
Fu Shinian was silent for a few seconds:
"I’ll co over right now."
Qiao Yu hung up the phone and looked at Wen Shaoyuan with a smile:
"He’s on his way. Shall I take you to my office first?"
Wen Shaoyuan glanced at Su Yimo, only to find that she had long since forgotten about the idea of seeing Dad. Her eyes were now filled with ’handso Uncle Qiao Yu’. With a helpless sigh in his heart, Wen Shaoyuan found Yimo’s behavior quite adorable and didn’t discuss it with her, but simply nodded:
"Okay."
Qiao Yu witnessed the entire state of Wen Shaoyuan’s interaction with Su Yimo, and couldn’t help but give him a thumbs up in his heart; he had been single for 30 years and was no match for an 8-year-old child.
In the office, Su Yimo had already abandoned Wen Shaoyuan and was sitting on Qiao Yu’s lap. It was Qiao Yu’s first ti eting Yimo, but he was smitten, especially when she blinked her big eyes unblinkingly at you. Qiao Yu felt his heart was lting.
He didn’t have a habit of eating snacks, but to please Yimo, he gathered all the snacks in the departnt without a second thought, all for a smile from little friend Yimo. However, little friend Yimo had absolutely no interest in snacks; she was only interested in Qiao Yu.
Feeling neglected, Wen Shaoyuan was a bit unhappy, but still patiently gave Yimo so ti to gaze at the handso man, until he felt it had been long enough and finally said:
"Qiqi, co here."
Yimo looked back at Wen Shaoyuan, and just as Qiao Yu thought she wouldn’t listen, Yimo obediently hopped down from his lap, walked over to Shaoyuan, sat beside him, and even took his hand, coquettishly swaying it:
"I like brother Shaoyuan the most."
The next second, Qiao Yu saw Wen Shaoyuan faintly smile, and then he slled the overwhelming, sour scent of love.
As the two kids huddled together, Qiao Yu beca the one left out. He had no complaints, sitting there and watching the two kids ’fall in love’ was an enjoyable experience for him, until he saw Shaoyuan’s expression darken while looking at the phone with Yimo.
