Su Mu withdrew her gaze from Fu Shinian, cald her emotions, and made herself devoid of any sentint, as if she stood before him only to seek a resolution for so necessary matters between them.

She took out two docunts from her bag that Lawyer Zhang had just given her, walked over to the living room, and placed the docunts on the coffee table:

"I can’t sign this agreent."

Fu Shinian’s eyes slowly moved from Su Mu’s face to the docunts on the table. He didn’t imdiately say anything but slowly walked over, sat down on the living room sofa, casually flipped through the two agreents, and saw nothing amiss:

"What’s the problem? Not satisfied?"

"Mr. Fu, I have felt your generosity, but I cannot accept such a substantial separation fee."

Upon hearing this, Fu Shinian chuckled:

"Since you ntioned it as a separation fee, there should be nothing unacceptable about it. No matter whose child you are carrying in your belly, you were with for over two years, which is a fact. A woman like Qin Nianwan could receive a substantial amount when breaking up with , let alone you, the legitimate Mrs. Fu. You deserve this."

Su Mu quietly looked at him. He always maintained the posture of a superior, like a master who controlled everything. Yet he still didn’t believe the child was his. Regarding this, Su Mu was helpless and too weary to say more:

"I married you, and from beginning to end, I never cared about your money. You are generous and wealthy, but that has nothing to do with . The two years of our marriage were of my own free will; no one forced into anything. Even the recent reconciliation was with my agreent, I just didn’t expect that we would still end up caught in a new round of doubts and misunderstandings, nor that it would co so swiftly."

"You think this way you’ll make rember you? Rember your aloofness and that you aren’t swayed by money?"

Su Mu smiled and shook her head:

"No, I hope you forget about , and I will forget about you too. Ideally, I hope we never have to see each other again. It’s better for everyone. I’m not accepting this because I don’t want anything in my life that might remind of you. I’m not useless; I can fully support myself. Even without you and the Fu family, I won’t be reduced to living on the streets. Mr. Fu, you don’t have to worry."

Fu Shinian looked up at her, his eyes complex, but Su Mu no longer cared to speculate about their aning.

It was no longer important.

Su Mu took out two bank cards from her bag and bent over to place them on the docunts, sothing she had prepared before leaving ho but hadn’t expected to hand over in person:

"These two bank cards - one holds the New Year’s money you gave , and the other is mine, but the money in both cards is the pocket money you have given over these two years. I spent so of it already, and I won’t return that; consider it compensation for my ti as Mrs. Fu."

Fu Shinian looked at the two cards for a long ti without speaking. Su Mu didn’t know what he was thinking, and she didn’t want to know.

"I won’t take anything from Bishui Yuntian. I’ll only take the cara I bought myself from the old house and my mother’s keepsakes. As for the things I leave behind, you can do whatever you want with them. I won’t have any objections."

"What are you doing?" Fu Shinian finally spoke after a long silence, "You hope I’ll forget you, but are these actions of yours ant to make forget you? I, Fu Shinian, am not lacking in money. Now everyone knows you were Mrs. Fu, and you want to leave the marriage without taking a single penny and leave with nothing; what would that make others think of ?"

Su Mu smiled faintly:

"I have done you wrong by carrying soone else’s child; leaving with nothing seems quite fitting, doesn’t it?"

"You think people will find it easier to accept that I’ve been cuckolded rather than thinking I’m stingy with won?"

"Whether you accept it or not, it’s all about you, it has nothing to do with ," Su Mu looked at him. "As for how to shut everyone else up, that’s your problem. I believe it’s not hard to accomplish."

Fu Shinian looked at Su Mu, wondering how long had it been since they last saw each other? Two days? Three days? How could she have changed so completely in such a short ti, her gaze towards him now devoid of any emotion, like looking at a stranger.

Was she pretending? Or had she really had her heart thoroughly broken?

Fu Shinian didn’t dare to think about it.

Su Mu had said everything that needed to be said, and staying on had no aning any longer. She didn’t know if this farewell would be forever? She hoped so, because she truly did not want to experience such a heartbreak again.

"You prepare the divorce agreent, I’m afraid I won’t have the ti. Just have Lawyer Zhang bring it to directly. If you want a smooth divorce, don’t add any conditions or think about giving any compensation to maintain a good reputation in front of everyone as soone who doesn’t mistreat ex-wives. I only accept a clean divorce. The hurt you’ve caused can’t be nded by these material things, and I don’t need them."

Su Mu thought Fu Shinian would object to sothing, but he didn’t. After a long silence, he simply responded with a heavy:

"Okay."

At this point, Su Mu let out a long sigh of relief. There was no regret as expected, and no difficulty as imagined. Aside from a slight sourness in her chest, she felt nothing else. Perhaps she had been ready to break up again from the mont she agreed to reconcile, just not expecting that day to arrive so soon.

But it was for the best. If divorce was the inevitable choice, then she would rather it be now than after she had tasted the sweetness and happiness of marriage.

Having experienced all that, she wasn’t sure if she could be as nonchalant as she was now.

There was nothing left to say. The fate between her and Fu Shinian could also be marked with a full stop today. It’s just that before leaving, she had one more request for Fu Shinian:

"I would like to see Grandma again, may I?"

Fu Shinian nodded:

"The old lady likes you the most, she will be very happy to see you."

Su Mu smiled faintly:

"Thank you."

Turning around to leave, the mont she opened the door, Fu Shinian’s voice stopped her in her tracks:

"Su Mu."

The hand on the door handle trembled slightly. It wasn’t because of his voice, but his movent to embrace her tightly that made her feel this man’s pity. But how could that be? If he had had the slightest pity for her, they wouldn’t be at this point.

"What is Mr. Fu doing?" Su Mu asked coldly. "I’m still carrying soone else’s child in my belly. Don’t you find that disgusting, Mr. Fu?"

The atmosphere froze, and Fu Shinian slowly let her go.

Su Mu thought she had beco indifferent to everything at the mont of clarification with Fu Shinian, but when he hugged and then released her, all the emotions she had suppressed over the past days found an outlet. So when she turned around and fiercely slapped Fu Shinian, the tears also burst forth without warning.
