Su Mu looked at Fu Shinian with disbelief, and it took her a few seconds to find her voice:

"My... photography studio?"

"Yes." Fu Shinian looked at her, smiling faintly, "Do you like it?"

Su Mu nodded, staring at the empty room before her. Although there was nothing in it now, it contained Fu Shinian’s intentions, which she could feel, and she couldn’t help but feel overwheld. She thought she might completely succumb to the web of affection Fu Shinian had woven today.

Whether intentional or not, Su Mu was unable to escape.

"When did you prepare this?"

"Before your mother passed away."

This answer was unexpected for Su Mu. She thought it was rely a strategy by Fu Shinian to win her back, so it must have been prepared after she ntioned divorce or after he was rejected. But she hadn’t expected that he had prepared it much earlier.

If it was before her mother’s death, it could be assud that regarding the matters between Wen Han and herself, he had actually understood much earlier than she had imagined, but for various reasons, he did not co to explain to her. He knew it wasn’t her fault; she was just a victim.

With a sour nose and warm eyes, Su Mu began to lose control of her emotions, thankfully, Fu Shinian tily intervened to break her sadness:

"Let take you upstairs to have a look."

The fourth floor was even more visually unobstructed than the lower floors, without any barriers. Surrounded by panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, there was a swimming pool in the center, which seed very enjoyable.

The two did not stay long on the fourth floor; Fu Shinian then took Su Mu to the rooftop. Thinking it would be very cold, she deliberately tightened her coat’s collar, only to find it was an entirely enclosed glasshouse with thick carpets, vibrant plants, a small bookshelf by the window, and two lounge chairs. A round table with a tea set in between basked in the sunlight, making it probably the most blissful and comfortable spot in the world to sit with a book during winter days.

"The first ti I ca here after the renovation, I knew you would like this place."

Su Mu turned to look at him, "When was the renovation completed?"

"Six months ago."

"You could think of at that ti?"

At that ti, their relationship was not good, sotis they fought fiercely and often argued. Su Mu did not think that Fu Shinian, standing here, would have thought of her.

"I’m not lying to you." Fu Shinian looked at her, "Actually, I was also surprised why you ca to mind first, but later I accepted it as reality. After all, from the first day we got married, I never thought about divorcing you. Since I never thought about divorce, there would be a lifeti together, so naturally, I would think of you, it seed only natural."

Su Mu t his gaze:

"Did you eat honey today?"

"Why?" he moved closer to her, wrapping her in his arms, "Don’t you like it?"

"I like it." Su Mu sincerely said, "Everything today is beyond what I could have dread of, and now that it’s really happening before my eyes, I still feel like I’m in a dream. I don’t know when I will wake up."

Fu Shinian smiled gently, kissing her forehead:

"As long as you like it, you can dream for a lifeti."

When Fu Shinian said this, he ant it sincerely; he genuinely wanted to take care of Su Mu for a lifeti, to accompany her, to care for her. He thought they could grow old together in the Gui Ning Residence, but he never expected that changes would co so rapidly, so swiftly that he was caught completely off guard.

That night, Fu Shinian did not take Su Mu back to the old house; he sent the driver away and stayed with Su Mu. It was probably planned beforehand, so the kitchen was still stocked with fresh ingredients. Since they hadn’t eaten much that evening, Su Mu decided to cook so food. Fu Shinian had never cooked before, so even though he was willing to help, he could only assist Su Mu from the side.

"Do you think I need to learn how to cook?"

Su Mu was chopping diced at when she heard the noise and looked toward him, who was washing the greens, "Why would you think that?"

"If saying I can cook would help you agree sooner to start over with , then I wouldn’t mind learning how to."

Su Mu smiled lightly, "Forget it."

"Why forget it?" Fu Shinian put the washed greens aside, pulled a piece of kitchen paper, and gently wiped his hands.

At the sound, Su Mu’s movents paused montarily, but she didn’t look at Fu Shinian. Instead, she gazed out the window at the dreamlike Gui Ning Residence and said lightly,

"You should just earn the money for the household. As for the kitchen duties, I’ll handle them."

Fu Shinian’s wiping slowed, and he looked up at Su Mu. After a few seconds, he accurately tossed the paper towel into the bin, then stepped toward Su Mu and gently wrapped his arms around her waist from behind, resting his chin lightly on her shoulder:

"I don’t quite understand what you ant just now. Could you explain it to ?"

Su Mu didn’t believe him,

"I know you understand."

"I don’t," he tightened his embrace, "Explain it to ."

Su Mu gently bit her lip, unsure whether she should say the words that had reached her lips.

Fu Shinian should have waited, but he was too eager to know right then, so he didn’t wait:

"Then I’ll guess. If I guess right, then nod your head to confirm I’m correct, okay?"

Su Mu didn’t speak, nor did she nod, but Fu Shinian knew she had acquiesced to his explanation, so he said,

"You said I earn the money and you handle the kitchen, these simple ten words, they’re not about now, they’re about the future, about a lifeti, right?"

Su Mu was silent.

"You don’t want a divorce anymore, you want to start over with , try again with , decide to trust once more, right?"

Su Mu still said nothing.

But Fu Shinian couldn’t wait any longer, he clamped her shoulders and turned her around to face him as he looked into her eyes,

"Answer , is that it?"

Su Mu bit her lip, nodded lightly, acknowledging all of Fu Shinian’s thoughts.

She no longer resisted, no longer contended with reality, nor forced herself. She admitted she still loved Fu Shinian, she admitted she was moved by his actions these past days, she admitted she believed in him, she even succumbed to her own desire to be with him for a lifeti.

In the past, she persisted for two years under seemingly impossible circumstances, so now with happiness within reach, she truly had no reason to give up.

This ti, she gambled.

For better, for worse.

She accepted it.
