At 7 p.m., Su Mu was waiting for her flight at Shen City International Airport. She hadn’t inford anyone, expecting a solitary journey, but unexpectedly, soone suddenly sat down beside her.

At first, Su Mu didn’t pay attention, until he spoke:

"Do you suspect sothing?"

Su Mu’s action of twisting open her water bottle cap halted, and she remained unresponsive for a long ti. Then, a strong and slender hand took the bottle from her, unscrewed the cap, and handed it back, snapping Su Mu back to reality.

She lost her interest in drinking water, seemingly all her senses had altered with Wen Han’s sudden appearance.

After screwing the cap back on, she still didn’t look at him, instead, she stared through the massive floor-to-ceiling window at the waiting planes on the tarmac and asked:

"What are you doing here?"

"You haven’t told , what are you doing going to Portugal alone?"

Su Mu thought for a mont and decided not to say: "Private matters."

"What kind of private matters can you tell my mother but not ?"

Wen Han’s words made Su Mu turn her head to look at him, her gaze cold and emotionless:

"Mrs. Wen told you?"

"Does it matter?" Wen Han looked at her. "You’re going to et Chen Huifang?"

Since things had co to this, there was little else to say. Su Mu had initially thought she could clearly keep Wen Han out of this, as it seed the target was entirely Su Mu, with Wen Han just a casualty of the situation. But he had stubbornly followed, even holding a ticket for the sa flight as Su Mu. She realized she couldn’t escape.

"Yes."

"To do what?"

"To get an answer."

"What answer?"

Su Mu paused for a few seconds:

"The answer to who is really behind this."

On hearing this, Wen Han furrowed his brow. Although he was unclear about the full circumstances, the original incident seed quite straightforward, with no so-called mastermind behind it. But now, with Su Mu speaking like this and making a trip to Portugal, it indicated that what he had seen before was just the tip of an iceberg.

"Can you tell about it?"

Su Mu didn’t respond, her gaze fixed on the plane ticket in his hand:

"Are you coming with ?"

"Don’t you think this matter was originally about the both of us?"

Su Mu silently withdrew her gaze:

"It was before, but it’s not anymore."

"Do you believe that Chen Huifang’s target is actually you?"

"It’s not a matter of belief, it is a fact."

Wen Han replayed his conversation with Su Mu, feeling astonished by the answer that nearly slipped out. He almost cautiously confird:

"Fu Shinian knows?"

Su Mu did not speak, but wasn’t that a form of acquiescence?

Actually, Wen Han shouldn’t have been shocked; in his understanding of Su Mu, even if Fu Shinian didn’t know, she would have taken the initiative to inform him. But looking at her now, it was clear that Fu Shinian knew before she spoke. This indicated that he had previously been careless, only considering the reasons on his side without considering the possibilities from Su Mu’s side.

"So now you two..."

Su Mu did not interrupt Wen Han’s question, it was Wen Han himself who realized it was inappropriate and stopped.

Actually, why even ask? Just by looking at Su Mu’s current state, one could guess that things between her and Fu Shinian weren’t great. Since it was obvious, why open your mouth to rub salt in her wound?

For a prolonged period, both of them remained silent, not uttering a word, until the ti to board the plane was drawing near. Then, Su Mu finally spoke softly:

"Wen Han, it’s all in the past now, you don’t need to accompany on this trip. Go back, even if just for my sake."

"Are you worried that Fu Shinian will know?"

Su Mu shook her head, there was nothing to worry about. He was almost divorcing her now, why would he care about her whereabouts? Perhaps what he was waiting for was an opportunity, an opportunity that would be acceptable to the old lady.

"No, I just think that Chen Huifang has finally stopped harassing the Wen Family, and if this trip allowed her to find a chance to again entangle with the Wen Family, it would not be good for Shaoyuan."

"I used to care too much, tolerating one ti after another, but this ti it’s different." Wen Han followed Su Mu’s gaze towards the floor-to-ceiling window, which clearly reflected the passersby. Yet, in his eyes, there were only the two of them sitting side by side: "I will not allow her to hurt the people around anymore."

Including you.

Su Mu was silent for a few seconds:

"Will you go wherever I say?"

"Yes."

"Actually, I could have gone after you returned to the army."

Wen Han looked at her: "Do you really not want to go with you? Su Mu, I am also involved."

"I don’t deny that, but your issue with Chen Huifang is resolved. This ti, it’s between her and . Also, I won’t be in any danger. I just want to get a na from her."

"Su Mu, whether you admit it or not, even if they are targeting you, I am just a tool they used. But ultimately, between you and , you are the one who suffers. I know you don’t want to see , seeing would only remind you of that day, and add to your discomfort."

"Since you know everything, why did you still co?"

"I owe you that." Wen Han looked at her: "As a soldier, I failed to recognize the enemy situation and carelessly fell into a trap and dragged you down with . If I had been more cautious, these things could have been avoided."

Su Mu smiled slightly:

"The als cooked by the maid who has been working in your house for over a decade, what could you possibly be cautious about?"

"Even so, I should have been aware of Chen Huifang. You also felt sothing was off with her, didn’t you?"

Regarding this, Su Mu couldn’t deny it because she did ntion Chen Huifang’s abnormal behavior to Wen Han afterward.

"Just this once, I will go with you, and afterward, I will disappear from your world and never appear again."

Nothing seed more sincere than a soldier’s promise. Su Mu believed what Wen Han said and because she believed him, she could not refuse. Not for anything else, but perhaps this could erase so of the guilt in his heart.

Although in Su Mu’s view, he really didn’t need to do so.

When Fu Shinian got news that Su Mu was going to Portugal, he was sitting in the office, looking at the sa piece of night sky that Su Mu was watching. That day was exactly 15 days before the New Year.

The office door was burst open urgently, indicating that the visitor must have brought so unimaginable news. Fu Shinian remained calm. He felt that after experiencing the ’wife’s affair’, nothing could move him again, until Song Yi spoke cautiously:

"Mr. Fu, we just got the news, the madam has booked a flight to Portugal tonight, and she’s currently at the airport. The person accompanying her is... is Wen Han."
