Fu Shinian received the ssage that Su Mu had safely left Shengyan Club while he was having dinner with the old lady. After Song Yi whispered in his ear, he was montarily stunned, then nodded:

"Understood."

The old lady noticed his distracted deanor and smiled faintly:

"If you are busy, don’t worry about ."

"Not at all," Fu Shinian replied with a light smile, "I’ve just returned from a business trip, there’s not that much work to handle, just so trivial matters; the old lady need not worry."

The old lady looked at him:

"Susu and Jiang Bei are very close, and it seems she has run into so trouble. Susu did not tell because she was afraid of worrying , but if it’s within your capacity, lend a hand. Doing so would also allow Susu to co back earlier, preventing her from staying with Jiang Bei and causing you two to live separately."

The taste of the food in Fu Shinian’s mouth began to turn unpleasant, but he did not show even a hint of this on his face. He responded lightly:

"Understood, I will take care of it."

"Spring Festival is approaching, and since you and Susu got married, you haven’t visited her mother at the sanatorium, have you?" The old lady eyed Fu Shinian, "It’s really inexcusable. I won’t ntion past events, but now that your relationship with Susu is getting better, it would be unacceptable to put off visiting any longer. Find an opportunity to accompany Susu for a visit, and also ask the staff whether it would be possible to have Susu’s mother co to the old house for the festival. Although she is ill, being with family during the New Year would make Susu feel much better."

The old lady was unaware of what had transpired between Fu Shinian and Su Mu, so the conversation revolved around Su Mu. However, Song Yi, who had been left to dine with them, was inexplicably filled with dread. Although he knew that Fu Shinian would never reveal the slightest emotion in front of the old lady, the prospect of facing Fu Shinian alone after dinner filled him with fear...

Song Yi silently lit a stick of incense for himself in his heart.

Fu Shinian remained silent for two seconds, then nodded in agreent:

"I will inquire, don’t worry."

The old lady nodded, not saying anything more, and Song Yi finally felt his heart relax.

After dinner, they moved to the study. Fu Shinian was no longer as composed as when he was with the old lady, showing a hint of irritation, but Song Yi could still bear it.

"We cannot delay Song Zhengxian’s matter any longer. Notify the person we’ve planted inside, you know what to do without teaching you."

"Understood."

Having given this order, Fu Shinian imdiately dialed Ji Nanfeng’s number and got straight to the point, "Co out to spar."

Song Yi silently lit another stick of incense for Ji Nanfeng in his mind. He was well aware that, ever since the incident with the photo had unfolded, Fu Shinian had maintained his own pace on the surface, without losing his rhythm. However, there was a fire in his heart, a fierce fire that made Song Yi tremble and even have nightmares in his sleep.

He thought Fu Shinian would release it since it couldn’t be extinguished or contained, yet he hadn’t. It was as if he was stubbornly holding it in from New York until now, looking for the right mont, and it seed he no longer wished to restrain himself.

While Song Yi was grateful that this fury had not been directed at him, he also felt imnse sympathy for Ji Nanfeng because he could imagine how heavy Fu Shinian’s blows would be!

——

In the boxing gym, Ji Nanfeng was knocked down by Fu Shinian for the umpteenth ti; he lay on the ground seeing stars, not quite recovered, when he heard Fu Shinian’s voice:

"Again."

"Damn it!" Ji Nanfeng cursed as he got up.

If Fu Shinian was in a bad mood, Ji Nanfeng’s day wasn’t any better. He had a bellyful of frustration from dealing with Jiang Bei, and he desperately needed to vent. He thought about finding a woman, but suddenly the thought of Qiao Yu’s feelings for Jiang Bei killed his interest. When Fu Shinian called, he had no outlet for his frustration and readily agreed.

He had thought he’d be the one doing the beating, but to his surprise, Fu Shinian’s fury burned even fiercer than his own. From the mont he stepped into the ring until now, he had spent more ti lying down than standing. Now, his barely contained emotions were on the verge of collapse. He ripped off his headgear and threw it to the ground:

"Are you fucking done yet? If Su Mu has done sothing to wrong you, go find her. What’s the point of beating up here?"

Ji Nanfeng wish he hadn’t ntioned it, for Fu Shinian’s gaze changed imdiately. Seeing this, Ji Nanfeng quickly stepped aside from the punching platform, watching him warily:

"I’ve already stepped down. If you hit now, it’s not going to be as simple as sparring anymore, I’m telling you. Don’t think I’ll go easy on you just because you’re my brother."

Fu Shinian watched him with a cold eye:

"How did you find out?"

"Find out what?" Ji Nanfeng saw Fu Shinian showed no signs of getting off the platform, and he relaxed a bit: "You an about Su Mu and Wen Han? I figured sothing was off between them the day Jiang Bei got attacked and ca to the hospital. They wouldn’t even look at each other. If it wasn’t an affair, they must have had a fight. But what’s there to fight about between an employer and an employee? Just quit if it’s a big deal. So, the only reasonable explanation is that sothing happened between them... you know."

"You called that day because of this? Why didn’t you tell then?"

Ji Nanfeng took off his gloves and tossed them aside:

"What’s the use of telling you? Could things ever go back to how they were? Besides, you were abroad. If sothing happened to you because I told you about it, I couldn’t bear the responsibility."

Fu Shinian didn’t respond. After a mont of silence, he also casually removed his protective gear and walked down from the punching platform. Ji Nanfeng instinctively took a step back:

"Let’s talk this out, okay? A gentleman uses his words, not his fists."

Fu Shinian glanced at him indifferently and sat down on a nearby rest chair, tilting his head back to drink so water. Ji Nanfeng touched his nose and approached, watching Fu Shinian’s deanor and asked:

"From the looks of it, you know the inside story? What happened with them?"

"Don’t you know?"

"What would I know? When you left, you only asked to ensure Su Mu’s safety; you didn’t tell to monitor her constantly. I just noticed that there was sothing strange about how she and Wen Han behaved around each other and made a guess. As for what exactly happened, I have no idea."

Fu Shinian looked at him:

"Didn’t you have soone check?"

"Should I have checked?" Ji Nanfeng looked at him with a chuckle: "She’s your wife. What if I found so racy photos or videos? Should I watch them or not? Furthermore..."

Ji Nanfeng stopped talking there because he could clearly feel Fu Shinian’s expression changing significantly after he finished his sentence, and couldn’t help but curse:

"No way. There really are photos and videos? So Su Mu truly cheated? She’s got so nerve."
